  1. and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
  2. Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior.
  3. But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation--
  4. if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.
  1. And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
  2. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
  3. In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
  4. If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

  ¹ÏÀ½ÀÇ ¼øÁ¾(1:24-2:7)

  1. Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
  2. I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness--
  3. the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints.
  4. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  5. We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
  1. Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
  2. Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
  3. Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
  4. To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
  5. Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
  1. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
  1. Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

  1. I want you to know how much I am struggling for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.
  2. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,
  3. in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
  4. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.
  5. For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.
  1. For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
  2. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
  3. In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
  4. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
  5. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
  1. So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,
  2. rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
  1. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
  2. Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
