  1. Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"
  2. "Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."
  3. "Which ones?" the man inquired. Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony,
  4. honor your father and mother,' and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'"
  5. "All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"
  1. And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?"
  2. And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
  3. Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
  4. HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
  5. The young man said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"
  1. Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
  2. When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.
  3. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
  4. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
  5. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"
  1. Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."
  2. But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
  3. And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
  4. "Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
  5. When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?"
  1. Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
  1. And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

  1. Peter answered him, "We have left everything to follow you! What then will there be for us?"
  2. Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
  3. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
  4. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
  1. Then Peter said to Him, "Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?"
  2. And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
  3. "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.
  4. "But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.
