  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: 'Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.
  3. " 'Each of you must respect his mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.
  4. " 'Do not turn to idols or make gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.
  5. " 'When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.
  1. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
  2. "Speak to all the congregation of the sons of Israel and say to them, 'You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.
  3. 'Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep My sabbaths; I am the LORD your God.
  4. 'Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten gods; I am the LORD your God.
  5. 'Now when you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.
  1. It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up.
  2. If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted.
  3. Whoever eats it will be held responsible because he has desecrated what is holy to the LORD; that person must be cut off from his people.
  4. " 'When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
  5. Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.
  1. 'It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and the next day; but what remains until the third day shall be burned with fire.
  2. 'So if it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an offense; it will not be accepted.
  3. 'Everyone who eats it will bear his iniquity, for he has profaned the holy thing of the LORD; and that person shall be cut off from his people.
  4. 'Now when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field, nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.
  5. 'Nor shall you glean your vineyard, nor shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the needy and for the stranger. I am the LORD your God.
  1. " 'Do not steal. " 'Do not lie. " 'Do not deceive one another.
  2. " 'Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
  3. " 'Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him. " 'Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight.
  4. " 'Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD.
  5. " 'Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.
  1. 'You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.
  2. 'You shall not swear falsely by My name, so as to profane the name of your God; I am the LORD.
  3. 'You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him The wages of a hired man are not to remain with you all night until morning.
  4. 'You shall not curse a deaf man, nor place a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.
  5. 'You shall do no injustice in judgment; you shall not be partial to the poor nor defer to the great, but you are to judge your neighbor fairly.
  1. " 'Do not go about spreading slander among your people. " 'Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor's life. I am the LORD.
  2. " 'Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt.
  3. " 'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
  4. " 'Keep my decrees. " 'Do not mate different kinds of animals. " 'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. " 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
  5. " 'If a man sleeps with a woman who is a slave girl promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.
  1. 'You shall not go about as a slanderer among your people, and you are not to act against the life of your neighbor; I am the LORD.
  2. 'You shall not hate your fellow countryman in your heart; you may surely reprove your neighbor, but shall not incur sin because of him.
  3. 'You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the LORD.
  4. 'You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.
  5. 'Now if a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave acquired for another man, but who has in no way been redeemed nor given her freedom, there shall be punishment; they shall not, however, be put to death, because she was not free.
  1. The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD.
  2. With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.
  3. " 'When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. For three years you are to consider it forbidden ; it must not be eaten.
  4. In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD.
  5. But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.
  1. 'He shall bring his guilt offering to the LORD to the doorway of the tent of meeting, a ram for a guilt offering.

  1. 'Do not turn to mediums or spiritists; do not seek them out to be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
  2. 'You shall rise up before the grayheaded and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.

  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Say to the Israelites: 'Any Israelite or any alien living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the community are to stone him.
  3. I will set my face against that man and I will cut him off from his people; for by giving his children to Molech, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
  4. If the people of the community close their eyes when that man gives one of his children to Molech and they fail to put him to death,
  5. I will set my face against that man and his family and will cut off from their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molech.
  1. Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
  2. "You shall also say to the sons of Israel: 'Any man from the sons of Israel or from the aliens sojourning in Israel who gives any of his offspring to Molech, shall surely be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
  3. 'I will also set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given some of his offspring to Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and to profane My holy name.
  4. 'If the people of the land, however, should ever disregard that man when he gives any of his offspring to Molech, so as not to put him to death,
  5. then I Myself will set My face against that man and against his family, and I will cut off from among their people both him and all those who play the harlot after him, by playing the harlot after Molech.
  1. " 'I will set my face against the person who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute himself by following them, and I will cut him off from his people.
  2. " 'Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.
  3. Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
  4. " 'If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head.
  5. " 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wife--with the wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
  1. 'As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the harlot after them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.
  2. 'You shall consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.
  3. 'You shall keep My statutes and practice them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you.
  4. 'If there is anyone who curses his father or his mother, he shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother, his bloodguiltiness is upon him.
  5. 'If there is a man who commits adultery with another man's wife, one who commits adultery with his friend's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
  1. " 'If a man sleeps with his father's wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
  2. " 'If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
  3. " 'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
  4. " 'If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.
  5. " 'If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
  1. 'If there is a man who lies with his father's wife, he has uncovered his father's nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death, their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
  2. 'If there is a man who lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed incest, their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
  3. 'If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
  4. 'If there is a man who marries a woman and her mother, it is immorality; both he and they shall be burned with fire, so that there will be no immorality in your midst.
  5. 'If there is a man who lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death; you shall also kill the animal.
  1. " 'If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
  2. " 'If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off before the eyes of their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.
  3. " 'If a man lies with a woman during her monthly period and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them must be cut off from their people.
  4. " 'Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.
  5. " 'If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.
  1. 'If there is a woman who approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
  2. 'If there is a man who takes his sister, his father's daughter or his mother's daughter, so that he sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the sons of their people. He has uncovered his sister's nakedness; he bears his guilt.
  3. 'If there is a man who lies with a menstruous woman and uncovers her nakedness, he has laid bare her flow, and she has exposed the flow of her blood; thus both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
  4. 'You shall also not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister or of your father's sister, for such a one has made naked his blood relative; they will bear their guilt.
  5. 'If there is a man who lies with his uncle's wife he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness; they will bear their sin. They will die childless.
  1. " 'If a man marries his brother's wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
  2. " 'Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.
  3. You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
  4. But I said to you, "You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey." I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.
  5. " 'You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground--those which I have set apart as unclean for you.
  1. 'If there is a man who takes his brother's wife, it is abhorrent; he has uncovered his brother's nakedness. They will be childless.
  2. 'You are therefore to keep all My statutes and all My ordinances and do them, so that the land to which I am bringing you to live will not spew you out.
  3. 'Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I will drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them.
  4. 'Hence I have said to you, "You are to possess their land, and I Myself will give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey " I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples.
  5. 'You are therefore to make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; and you shall not make yourselves detestable by animal or by bird or by anything that creeps on the ground, which I have separated for you as unclean.
  1. You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
  2. " 'A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.' "
  1. 'Thus you are to be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy; and I have set you apart from the peoples to be Mine.
  2. 'Now a man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones, their bloodguiltiness is upon them.'"
