요한복음 13:31-14:15

 예수님께서는 제자들에게 새 계명으로 서로 사랑할 것을 말씀하셨다. 베드로가 주를 위하여 목숨을 버리겠다고 하자 예수님은 그가 닭이 울기 전에 세 번 자신을 부인할 것을 예고하셨다. 예수님은 마음에 근심하는 제자들을 위로하시며 아버지 집에 처소를 예비하면 다시 오실 것이라고 말씀하셨다.
  
  새 계명(13:31-13:38)    
 
  1. When he was gone, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him.
  2. If God is glorified in him, God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once.
  3. "My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
  4. "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
  5. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
  1. Therefore when he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him;
  2. if God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and will glorify Him immediately.
  3. "Little children, I am with you a little while longer You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'
  4. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
  5. "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
  1. Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later."
  2. Peter asked, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
  3. Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? I tell you the truth, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times!
  1. Simon Peter said to Him, "Lord, where are You going?" Jesus answered, "Where I go, you cannot follow Me now; but you will follow later."
  2. Peter said to Him, "Lord, why can I not follow You right now? I will lay down my life for You."
  3. Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for Me? Truly, truly, I say to you, a rooster will not crow until you deny Me three times.
 
  제자들을 위로하심(14:1-14:15)    
 
  1. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
  2. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
  3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
  4. You know the way to the place where I am going."
  5. Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
  1. "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
  2. "In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
  3. "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
  4. "And you know the way where I am going."
  5. Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?"
  1. Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
  2. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
  3. Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."
  4. Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
  5. Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
  1. Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
  2. "If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."
  3. Philip said to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us."
  4. Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?
  5. "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.
  1. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.
  2. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
  3. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.
  4. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
  5. "If you love me, you will obey what I command.
  1. "Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
  2. "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
  3. "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  4. "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
  5. "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
