시편 89:30-89:37

 에단은 하나님께서 그의 백성이 비록 계명을 어기고 징책을 받고 있다 할지라도 결코 그들을 버리지 않으시고 구원하신다는 것을 찬양하고 있다.
  
 
  1. "If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
  2. if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
  3. I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
  4. but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
  5. I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
  1. "If his sons forsake My law And do not walk in My judgments,
  2. If they violate My statutes And do not keep My commandments,
  3. Then I will punish their transgression with the rod And their iniquity with stripes.
  4. "But I will not break off My lovingkindness from him, Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.
  5. "My covenant I will not violate, Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.
  1. Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness-- and I will not lie to David-
  2. that his line will continue forever and his throne endure before me like the sun;
  3. it will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky." Selah
  1. "Once I have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David.
  2. "His descendants shall endure forever And his throne as the sun before Me.
  3. "It shall be established forever like the moon, And the witness in the sky is faithful." Selah.
