시편 105:8-105:16

 시인은 하나님께서 족장들과 세운 언약, 즉 가나안 땅을 기업으로 주신다는 말씀을 회고하였다. 약속의 땅을 밟기 위해서는 많은 관문을 넘어야 하는데, 하나님께서 이를 극복케 하셨다고 고백하고 있다.
  
 
  1. He remembers his covenant forever, the word he commanded, for a thousand generations,
  2. the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
  3. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant:
  4. "To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit."
  5. When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it,
  1. He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
  2. The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac.
  3. Then He confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
  4. Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the portion of your inheritance,"
  5. When they were only a few men in number, Very few, and strangers in it.
  1. they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another.
  2. He allowed no one to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
  3. "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."
  4. He called down famine on the land and destroyed all their supplies of food;
  1. And they wandered about from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people.
  2. He permitted no man to oppress them, And He reproved kings for their sakes:
  3. "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm."
  4. And He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.
