요한일서

  당시 초대 교회는 로마 황제 도미티아누스에게 극심한 박해를 받고 있었으며, 소아시아 지방에서는 예수님께서 육체로 오신 것을 부인하는 영지주의가 나타나 교회를 혼돈시키고 있었다. 이에 요한은 영지주의를 배격하고 오직 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도를 통하여 영생을 얻는다는 진리를 교훈하기 위하여 본서를 기록하였다.

  본서는 하나님과 참된 영적 교제를 나누기 위해 빛 가운데 행하며, 죄를 자백하고 하나님의 계명을 지키며, 사랑을 실천하라고 교훈하고 있다. 또한 적그리스도를 물리칠 것과 이를 위해 말씀 안에 굳게 거하고 말씀을 실천하여야 한다고 교훈하고 있다.

 

 

요한일서 1:1-1:10

 요한은 영원한 말씀이 육신이 되어 이 세상에 나타난 예수 그리스도를 증거하면서 빛되신 하나님과의 사귐을 위해 겸손하게 죄를 고백하라고 권면하였다.
  
  생명의 말씀(1:1-1:4)    
 
  1. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched--this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.
  2. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
  3. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
  4. We write this to make our joy complete.
  1. What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life--
  2. and the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us--
  3. what we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ.
  4. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete.
 
  빛되신 하나님(1:5-1:10)    
 
  1. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
  2. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth.
  3. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
  4. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
  5. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
  1. This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
  2. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
  3. but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
  4. If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
  5. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  1. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.
  1. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
