창세기 39:1-40:23

 애굽의 시위 대장 보디발의 집에 팔려 간 요셉은 하나님께서 함께하심으로 그 집의 가정 총무가 되었다. 요셉의 준수함을 본 보디발의 아내가 요셉을 유혹했으나, 하나님을 경외하는 요셉은 그 유혹을 거절하였다. 그 결과 그녀의 진노를 사게 된 요셉은 중죄수를 다루는 감옥에 갇히게 되었다. 그 곳에서 요셉은 술 관원장과 떡 관원장의 꿈을 풀어 주었다. 그러나 요셉이 해몽한 대로 감옥에서 풀려나 복직된 술 관원장은 요셉의 공로를 잊어버리고 말았다.
  
  보디발의 집에서의 요셉(39:1-39:23)    
 
  1. Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.
  2. The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master.
  3. When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did,
  4. Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.
  5. From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.
  1. ヨセフ が エジプト へ 連れて 行かれたとき， パロ の 廷臣で 侍從長の ポティファル というひとりの エジプト 人が， ヨセフ をそこに 連れて 下って 來た イシュマエル 人の 手から ヨセフ を 買い 取った．
  2. 主が ヨセフ とともにおられたので， 彼は 幸運な 人となり， その エジプト 人の 主人の 家にいた．
  3. 彼の 主人は， 主が 彼とともにおられ， 主が 彼のすることすべてを 成功させてくださるのを 見た．
  4. それで ヨセフ は 主人にことのほか 愛され， 主人は 彼を 側近の 者とし， その 家を 管理させ， 彼の 全財産を ヨセフ の 手にゆだねた．
  5. 主人が 彼に， その 家と 全財産とを 管理させた 時から， 主は ヨセフ のゆえに， この エジプト 人の 家を， 祝福された． それで 主の 祝福が， 家や 野にある， 全財産の 上にあった．
  1. So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate. Now Joseph was well-built and handsome,
  2. and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"
  3. But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.
  4. No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"
  5. And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.
  1. 彼は ヨセフ の 手に 全財産をゆだね， 自分の 食べる 食物以外には， 何も 氣を 使わなかった． しかも ヨセフ は 體格も 良く， 美男子であった．
  2. これらのことの 後， 主人の 妻は ヨセフ に 目をつけて， 「私と 寢ておくれ． 」と 言った．
  3. しかし， 彼は 拒んで 主人の 妻に 言った． 「ご 覽ください． 私の 主人は， 家の 中のことは 何でも 私に 任せ， 氣を 使わず， 全財産を 私の 手にゆだねられました．
  4. ご 主人は， この 家の 中では 私より 大きな 權威をふるおうとはされず， あなた 以外には， 何も 私に 差し 止めてはおられません． あなたがご 主人の 奧さまだからです． どうして， そのような 大きな 惡事をして， 私は 神に 罪を 犯すことができましょうか． 」
  5. それでも 彼女は 每日， ヨセフ に 言い 寄ったが， 彼は， 聞き 入れず， 彼女のそばに 寢ることも， 彼女といっしょにいることもしなかった．
  1. One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside.
  2. She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.
  3. When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house,
  4. she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.
  5. When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."
  1. ある 日のこと， 彼が 仕事をしようとして 家にはいると， 家の 中には， 家の 者どもがひとりもそこにいなかった．
  2. それで 彼女は ヨセフ の 上着をつかんで， 「私と 寢ておくれ． 」と 言った． しかし ヨセフ はその 上着を 彼女の 手に 殘し， 逃げて 外へ 出た．
  3. 彼が 上着を 彼女の 手に 殘して 外へ 逃げたのを 見ると，
  4. 彼女は， その 家の 者どもを 呼び 寄せ， 彼らにこう 言った． 「ご 覽． 主人は 私たちをもてあそぶために ヘブル 人を 私たちのところに 連れ ¿んだのです． あの 男が 私と 寢ようとしてはいって 來たので， 私は 大聲をあげたのです．
  5. 私が 聲をあげて 叫んだのを 聞いて， あの 男は 私のそばに 自分の 上着を 殘し， 逃げて 外へ 出て 行きました． 」
  1. She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home.
  2. Then she told him this story: "That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me.
  3. But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."
  4. When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger.
  5. Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined. But while Joseph was there in the prison,
  1. 彼女は， 主人が 家に 歸って 來るまで， その 上着を 自分のそばに 置いていた．
  2. こうして 彼女は 主人に， このように 告げて 言った． 「あなたが 私たちのところに 連れて 來られた ヘブル 人の 奴隷は， 私にいたずらをしようとして 私のところにはいって 來ました．
  3. 私が 聲をあげて 叫んだので， 私のそばに 上着を 殘して 外へ 逃げました． 」
  4. 主人は 妻が， 「あなたの 奴隷は 私にこのようなことをしたのです． 」と 言って， 告げたことばを 聞いて， 怒りに 燃えた．
  5. ヨセフ の 主人は 彼を 捕え， 王の 囚人が 監禁されている 監獄に 彼を 入れた． こうして 彼は 監獄にいた．
  1. the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.
  2. So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.
  3. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.
  1. しかし， 主は ヨセフ とともにおられ， 彼に 惠みを 施し， 監獄の 長の 心にかなうようにされた．
  2. それで 監獄の 長は， その 監獄にいるすべての 囚人を ヨセフ の 手にゆだねた． ヨセフ はそこでなされるすべてのことを 管理するようになった．
  3. 監獄の 長は， ヨセフ の 手に 任せたことについては 何も 干涉しなかった． それは 主が 彼とともにおられ， 彼が 何をしても， 主がそれを 成功させてくださったからである．
 
  요셉의 해몽(40:1-40:23)    
 
  1. Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt.
  2. Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker,
  3. and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined.
  4. The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he attended them. After they had been in custody for some time,
  5. each of the two men--the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were being held in prison--had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.
  1. これらのことの 後， エジプト 王の 獻酌官と 調理官とが， その 主君， エジプト 王に 罪を 犯した．
  2. それで パロ は， この 獻酌官長と 調理官長のふたりの 廷臣を 怒り，
  3. 彼らを 侍從長の 家に 拘留した． すなわち ヨセフ が 監禁されている 同じ 監獄に 入れた．
  4. 侍從長は ヨセフ を 彼らの 付き 人にしたので， 彼はその 世話をした． こうして 彼らは， しばらく 拘留されていた．
  5. さて， 監獄に 監禁されている エジプト 王の 獻酌官と 調理官とは， ふたりとも 同じ 夜にそれぞれ 夢を 見た． その 夢にはおのおの 意味があった．
  1. When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected.
  2. So he asked Pharaoh's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "Why are your faces so sad today?"
  3. "We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them." Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."
  4. So the chief cupbearer told Joseph his dream. He said to him, "In my dream I saw a vine in front of me,
  5. and on the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters ripened into grapes.
  1. 朝， ヨセフ が 彼らのところに 行って， よく 見ると， 彼らはいらいらしていた．
  2. それで 彼は， 自分の 主人の 家にいっしょに 拘留されているこの パロ の 廷臣たちに 尋ねて， 「なぜ， きょうはあなたがたの 顔色が 惡いのですか． 」と 言った．
  3. ふたりは 彼に 答えた． 「私たちは 夢を 見たが， それを 解き 明かす 人がいない． 」 ヨセフ は 彼らに 言った． 「それを 解き 明かすことは， 神のなさることではありませんか． さあ， それを 私に 話してください． 」
  4. それで 獻酌官長は ヨセフ に 自分の 夢を 話して 言った． 「夢の 中で， 見ると， 私の 前に 一本のぶどうの 木があった．
  5. そのぶどうの 木には 三本のつるがあった． それが 芽を 出すと， すぐ 花が ¿き， ぶどうのふさが 熟して， ぶどうになった．
  1. Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes, squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup and put the cup in his hand."
  2. "This is what it means," Joseph said to him. "The three branches are three days.
  3. Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand, just as you used to do when you were his cupbearer.
  4. But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison.
  5. For I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon."
  1. 私の 手には パロ の 杯があったから， 私はそのぶどうを 摘んで， それを パロ の 杯の 中にしぼって 入れ， その 杯を パロ の 手にささげた． 」
  2. ヨセフ は 彼に 言った． 「その 解き 明かしはこうです． 三本のつるは 三日のことです．
  3. 三日のうちに， パロ はあなたを 呼び 出し， あなたをもとの 地位に 戾すでしょう． あなたは， パロ の 獻酌官であったときの 以前の 規定に 從って， パロ の 杯をその 手にささげましょう．
  4. あなたがしあわせになったときには， きっと 私を 思い 出してください． 私に 惠みを 施してください． 私のことを パロ に 話してください． この 家から 私が 出られるようにしてください．
  5. 實は 私は， ヘブル 人の 國から， さらわれて 來たのです． ここでも 私は 投獄されるようなことは 何もしていないのです． 」
  1. When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given a favorable interpretation, he said to Joseph, "I too had a dream: On my head were three baskets of bread.
  2. In the top basket were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head."
  3. "This is what it means," Joseph said. "The three baskets are three days.
  4. Within three days Pharaoh will lift off your head and hang you on a tree. And the birds will eat away your flesh."
  5. Now the third day was Pharaoh's birthday, and he gave a feast for all his officials. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his officials:
  1. 調理官長は， 解き 明かしが 良かったのを 見て， ヨセフ に 言った． 「私も 夢の 中で， 見ると， 私の 頭の 上に 枝編みのかごが 三つあった．
  2. 一番上のかごには， パロ のために 調理官が 作ったあらゆる 食べ 物がはいっていたが， 鳥が 私の 頭の 上のかごの 中から， それを 食べてしまった． 」
  3. ヨセフ は 答えて 言った． 「その 解き 明かしはこうです． 三つのかごは 三日のことです．
  4. 三日のうちに， パロ はあなたを 呼び 出し， あなたを 木につるし， 鳥があなたの 肉をむしり 取って 食うでしょう． 」
  5. 三日目は パロ の 誕生日であった． それで 彼は， 自分のすべての 家臣たちのために 祝宴を 張り， 獻酌官長と 調理官長とをその 家臣たちの 中に 呼び 出した．
  1. He restored the chief cupbearer to his position, so that he once again put the cup into Pharaoh's hand,
  2. but he hanged the chief baker, just as Joseph had said to them in his interpretation.
  3. The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.
  1. そうして， 獻酌官長をその 獻酌の 役に 戾したので， 彼はその 杯を パロ の 手にささげた．
  2. しかし パロ は， ヨセフ が 解き 明かしたように， 調理官長を 木につるした．
  3. ところが 獻酌官長は ヨセフ のことを 思い 出さず， 彼のことを 忘れてしまった．
