- One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
- He said to them, "When you pray, say: " 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
- Give us each day our daily bread.
- Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.' "
- Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

- さて， イエス はある 所で 祈っておられた． その 祈りが 終わると， 弟子のひとりが， イエス に 言った． 「主よ． ヨハネ が 弟子たちに 敎えたように， 私たちにも 祈りを 敎えてください． 」
- そこで イエス は， 彼らに 言われた． 「祈るときには， こう 言いなさい． 『父よ． 御名があがめられますように． 御國が 來ますように．
- 私たちの 日ごとの 糧を 每日お 與えください．
- 私たちの 罪をお 赦しください． 私たちも 私たちに 負いめのある 者をみな 赦します． 私たちを 試みに 會わせないでください． 』」
- また， イエス はこう 言われた． 「あなたがたのうち， だれかに 友だちがいるとして， 眞夜中にその 人のところに 行き， 『君． パン を 三つ 貸してくれ．

- because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'
- "Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'
- I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
- "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
- For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

- 友人が 旅の 途中， 私のうちへ 來たのだが， 出してやるものがないのだ． 』と 言ったとします．
- すると， 彼は 家の 中からこう 答えます． 『めんどうをかけないでくれ． もう 戶締まりもしてしまったし， 子どもたちも 私も 寢ている． 起きて， 何かをやることはできない． 』
- あなたがたに 言いますが， 彼は 友だちだからということで 起きて 何かを 與えることはしないにしても， あくまで 賴み 續けるなら， そのためには 起き 上がって， 必要な 物を 與えるでしょう．
- わたしは， あなたがたに 言います． 求めなさい． そうすれば 與えられます． 搜しなさい． そうすれば 見つかります． たたきなさい． そうすれば 開かれます．
- だれであっても， 求める 者は 受け， 搜す 者は 見つけ 出し， たたく 者には 開かれます．

- "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
- Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
- If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

- あなたがたの 中で， 子どもが 魚を 下さいと 言うときに， 魚の 代わりに 蛇を 與えるような 父親が， いったいいるでしょうか．
- 卵を 下さいと 言うのに， だれが， さそりを 與えるでしょう．
- してみると， あなたがたも， 惡い 者ではあっても， 自分の 子どもには 良い 物を 與えることを 知っているのです． とすれば， なおのこと， 天の 父が， 求める 人たちに， どうして 聖靈を 下さらないことがありましょう． 」
