	사무엘상 26:1-28:25 사울은 다윗을 추격하다가 오히려 다윗에게 죽을 위기를 맞았으나 다윗은 또다시 그를 살려 주었다. 사울을 두려워한 다윗은 가드 왕 아기스에게 도피하였다. 블레셋의 침략에 위급해진 사울은 엔돌의 신접한 여인을 찾아가 사무엘의 혼을 불러 올리게 하였다. 그에게 나타난 사무엘은 사울의 범죄를 지적하며 그의 몰락과 죽음을 예고했다.

	사울을 다시 살려 준 다윗(26:1-26:25)

The Ziphites went to Saul at Gibeah and said, "Is not David hiding on the hill of Hakilah, which faces Jeshimon?"

So Saul went down to the Desert of Ziph, with his three thousand chosen men of Israel, to search there for David.

Saul made his camp beside the road on the hill of Hakilah facing Jeshimon, but David stayed in the desert. When he saw that Saul had followed him there,

he sent out scouts and learned that Saul had definitely arrived.

Then David set out and went to the place where Saul had camped. He saw where Saul and Abner son of Ner, the commander of the army, had lain down. Saul was lying inside the camp, with the army encamped around him.

ジフ人がギブアにいるサウルのところに來て言った．「ダビデはエシモンの東にあるハキラの丘に隱れているではありませんか．」

そこでサウルはすぐ，三千人のイスラエルの精銳を率い，ジフの荒野にいるダビデを求めてジフの荒野へ下って行った．

David then asked Ahimelech the Hittite and Abishai son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, "Who will go down into the camp with me to Saul?" "I'll go with you," said Abishai.

So David and Abishai went to the army by night, and there was Saul, lying asleep inside the camp with his spear stuck in the ground near his head. Abner and the soldiers were lying around him.

Abishai said to David, "Today God has delivered your enemy into your hands. Now let me pin him to the ground with one thrust of my spear; I won't strike him twice."

But David said to Abishai, "Don't destroy him! Who can lay a hand on the LORD's anointed and be guiltless?

As surely as the LORD lives," he said, "the LORD himself will strike him; either his time will come and he will die, or he will go into battle and perish.

そこで，ダビデは，ヘテ人アヒメレクと，ヨアブの兄弟で，ツェルヤの子アビシャイとに言った．「だれか私といっしょに陣營のサウルのところへ下って行く者はいないか．」するとアビシャイが答えた．「私があなたといっしょに下って行きます．」

ダビデとアビシャイは夜，民のところに行った．見ると，サウルは幕營の中で橫になって寢ており，彼の槍が，その枕もとの地面に突き刺してあった．アブネルも兵士たちも，その回りに眠っていた．

アビシャイはダビデに言った．「神はきょう，あなたの敵をあなたの手に渡されました．どうぞ私に，あの槍で彼を一氣に地に刺し殺させてください．二度することはいりません．」

しかしダビデはアビシャイに言った．「殺してはならない．主に油そそがれた方に手を下して，だれが無罪でおられよう．」

ダビデは言った．「主は生きておられる．主は，必ず彼を打たれる．彼はその生涯の終わりに死ぬか，戰いに下ったときに滅ぼされるかだ．

But the LORD forbid that I should lay a hand on the LORD's anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let's go."

So David took the spear and water jug near Saul's head, and they left. No one saw or knew about it, nor did anyone wake up. They were all sleeping, because the LORD had put them into a deep sleep.

Then David crossed over to the other side and stood on top of the hill some distance away; there was a wide space between them.

He called out to the army and to Abner son of Ner, "Aren't you going to answer me, Abner?" Abner replied, "Who are you who calls to the king?"

David said, "You're a man, aren't you? And who is like you in Israel? Why didn't you guard your lord the king? Someone came to destroy your lord the king.

私が，主に油そそがれた方に手を下すなど，主の前に絶對にできないことだ．さあ，今は，あの枕もとにある槍と水差しとを取って行くことにしよう．」

こうしてダビデはサウルの枕もとの槍と水差しとを取り，ふたりは立ち去ったが，だれひとりとしてこれを見た者も，氣づいた者も，目をさました者もなかった．主が彼らを深い眠りに陷れられたので，みな眠りこけていたからである．

ダビデは向こう側へ渡って行き，遠く離れた山の頂上に立った．彼らの間には，かなりの隔たりがあった．

そしてダビデは，兵士たちとネルの子アブネルに呼びかけて言った．「アブネル．返事をしろ．」アブネルは答えて言った．「王を呼びつけるおまえはだれだ．」

ダビデはアブネルに言った．「おまえは男ではないか．イスラエル中で，おまえに ¿ぶ者があろうか．おまえはなぜ，自分の主君である王を見張っていなかったのだ．兵士のひとりが，おまえの主君である王を殺しにはいり ¿んだのに．

What you have done is not good. As surely as the LORD lives, you and your men deserve to die, because you did not guard your master, the LORD's anointed. Look around you. Where are the king's spear and water jug that were near his head?"

Saul recognized David's voice and said, "Is that your voice, David my son?" David replied, "Yes it is, my lord the king."

And he added, "Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done, and what wrong am I guilty of?

Now let my lord the king listen to his servant's words. If the LORD has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, men have done it, may they be cursed before the LORD! They have now driven me from my share in the LORD's inheritance and have said, 'Go, serve other gods.'

Now do not let my blood fall to the ground far from the presence of the LORD. The king of Israel has come out to look for a flea--as one hunts a partridge in the mountains."

おまえのやったことは良くない．主に誓って言うが，おまえたちは死に値する．おまえたちの主君，主に油そそがれた方を見張っていなかったからだ．今，王の枕もとにあった王の槍と水差しが，どこにあるか見てみよ．」

サウルは，それがダビデの聲だとわかって言った．「わが子ダビデよ．これはおまえの聲ではないか．」ダビデは答えた．「私の聲です．王さま．」

そして言った．「なぜ，わが君はこのしもべのあとを追われるのですか．私が何をしたというのですか．私の手に，どんな惡があるというのですか．

王さま．どうか今，このしもべの言うことを聞いてください．もし私にはむかうようにあなたに誘いかけられたのが主であれば，主はあなたのささげ物を受け入れられるでしょう．しかし，それが人によるのであれば，主の前で彼らがのろわれますように．彼らはきょう，私を追い拂って，主のゆずりの地にあずからせず，行ってほかの神¿に仕えよ，と言っているからです．

どうか今，私が主の前から去って，この血を地面に流すことがありませんように．イスラエルの王が，山で，しゃこを追うように，一匹の蚤をねらって出て來られたからです．」

Then Saul said, "I have sinned. Come back, David my son. Because you considered my life precious today, I will not try to harm you again. Surely I have acted like a fool and have erred greatly."

"Here is the king's spear," David answered. "Let one of your young men come over and get it.

The LORD rewards every man for his righteousness and faithfulness. The LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the LORD's anointed.

As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and deliver me from all trouble."

Then Saul said to David, "May you be blessed, my son David; you will do great things and surely triumph." So David went on his way, and Saul returned home.

サウルは言った．「私は罪を犯した．わが子ダビデ．歸って來なさい．私はもう，おまえに害を加えない．きょう，私のいのちがおまえによって助けられたからだ．ほんとうに私は愚かなことをして，たいへんなまちがいを犯した．」

ダビデは答えて言った．「さあ，ここに王の槍があります．これを取りに，若者のひとりをよこしてください．

主は，おのおの，その人の正しさと眞實に報いてくださいます．主はきょう，あなたを私の手に渡されましたが，私は，主に油そそがれた方に，この手を下したくはありませんでした．

きょう，私があなたのいのちをたいせつにしたように，主は私のいのちをたいせつにして，すべての苦しみから私を救い出してくださいます．」

サウルはダビデに言った．「わが子ダビデ．おまえに祝福があるように．おまえは多くのことをするだろうが，それはきっと成功しよう．」こうしてダビデは自分の旅を續け，サウルは自分の家へ歸って行った．

	다윗의 블레셋 망명(27:1-27:12)

But David thought to himself, "One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me anywhere in Israel, and I will slip out of his hand."

So David and the six hundred men with him left and went over to Achish son of Maoch king of Gath.

David and his men settled in Gath with Achish. Each man had his family with him, and David had his two wives: Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel, the widow of Nabal.

When Saul was told that David had fled to Gath, he no longer searched for him.

Then David said to Achish, "If I have found favor in your eyes, let a place be assigned to me in one of the country towns, that I may live there. Why should your servant live in the royal city with you?"

ダビデは心の中で言った．「私はいつか，いまに，サウルの手によって滅ぼされるだろう．ペリシテ人の地にのがれるよりほかに道はない．そうすれば，サウルは，私をイスラエルの領土內で，くまなく搜すのをあきらめるであろう．こうして私は彼の手からのがれよう．」

そこでダビデは，いっしょにいた六百人の者を連れて，ガテの王マオクの子アキシュのところへ渡って行った．

ダビデとその部下たちは，それぞれ自分の家族とともに，ガテでアキシュのもとに住みついた．ダビデも，そのふたりの妻，イズレエル人アヒノアムと，ナバルの妻であったカルメル人アビガイルといっしょであった．

ダビデがガテへ逃げたことが，サウルに知らされると，サウルは二度とダビデを追おうとはしなかった．

ダビデはアキシュに言った．「もし，私の願いをかなえてくださるなら，地方の町の一つの場所を私に與えて，そこに私を住まわせてください．どうして，このしもべが王の都に，あなたといっしょに住めましょう．」

So on that day Achish gave him Ziklag, and it has belonged to the kings of Judah ever since.

David lived in Philistine territory a year and four months.

Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites. (From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.)

Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish.

When Achish asked, "Where did you go raiding today?" David would say, "Against the Negev of Judah" or "Against the Negev of Jerahmeel" or "Against the Negev of the Kenites."

それでアキシュは，その日，ツィケラグをダビデに與えた．それゆえ，ツィケラグは今日まで，ユダの王に屬している．

ダビデがペリシテ人の地に住んだ日數は一年四か月であった．

ダビデは部下とともに上って行って，ゲシュル人，ゲゼル人，アマレク人を襲った．彼らは昔から，シュルのほうエジプトの國に及ぶ地域に住んでいた．

He did not leave a man or woman alive to be brought to Gath, for he thought, "They might inform on us and say, 'This is what David did.' " And such was his practice as long as he lived in Philistine territory.

Achish trusted David and said to himself, "He has become so odious to his people, the Israelites, that he will be my servant forever."

ダビデは男も女も生かしておかず，ガテにひとりも連れて來なかった．彼らが，「ダビデはこういうことをした．」と言って，自分たちのことを告げるといけない，と思ったからである．ダビデはペリシテ人の地に住んでいる間，いつも，このようなやり方をしていた．

アキシュはダビデを信用して，こう思った．「ダビデは進んで自分の同胞イスラエル人に忌みきらわれるようなことをしている．彼はいつまでも私のしもべになっていよう．」

	엔돌의 무당을 찾아간 사울(28:1-28:25)

In those days the Philistines gathered their forces to fight against Israel. Achish said to David, "You must understand that you and your men will accompany me in the army."

David said, "Then you will see for yourself what your servant can do." Achish replied, "Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life."

Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.

The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa.

When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart.

そのころ，ペリシテ人はイスラエルと戰おうとして，軍隊を召集した．アキシュはダビデに言った．「あなたと，あなたの部下は，私といっしょに出陣することになっているのを，よく承知していてもらいたい．」

ダビデはアキシュに言った．「よろしゅうございます．このしもべが，どうするか，おわかりになるでしょう．」アキシュはダビデに言った．「よろしい．あなたをいつまでも，私の護衛に任命しておこう．」

サムエルが死んだとき，全イスラエルは彼のためにいたみ悲しみ，彼をその町ラマに葬った．サウルは國內から靈媒や口寄せを追い出していた．

ペリシテ人が集まって，シュネムに來て陣を敷いたので，サウルは全イスラエルを召集して，ギルボアに陣を敷いた．

He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.

Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her." "There is one in Endor," they said.

So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name."

But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?"

Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this."

それで，サウルは主に伺ったが，主が夢によっても，ウリムによっても，預言者によっても答えてくださらなかったので，

サウルは自分の家來たちに言った．「靈媒をする女を搜して來い．私がその女のところに行って，その女に尋ねてみよう．」家來たちはサウルに言った．「エン · ドルに靈媒をする女がいます．」

サウルは，變裝して身なりを變え，ふたりの部下を連れて，夜，その女のところに行き，そして言った．「靈媒によって，私のために占い，私の名ざす人を呼び出してもらいたい．」

Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" "Bring up Samuel," he said.

When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!"

The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?" The woman said, "I see a spirit coming up out of the ground."

"What does he look like?" he asked. "An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.

Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."

すると，女は言った．「だれを呼び出しましょうか．」サウルは言った．「サムエルを呼び出してもらいたい．」

この女がサムエルを見たとき，大聲で叫んだ．そしてこの女はサウルに次のように言った．「あなたはなぜ，私を欺いたのですか．あなたはサウルではありませんか．」

王は彼女に言った．「恐れることはない．何が見えるのか．」この女はサウルに言った．「こうごうしい方が地から上って來られるのが見えます．」

サウルは彼女に尋ねた．「どんな樣子をしておられるか．」彼女は言った．「年老いた方が上って來られます．外套を着ておられます．」サウルは，その人がサムエルであることがわかって，地にひれ伏して，おじぎをした．

サムエルはサウルに言った．「なぜ，私を呼び出して，私を煩わすのか．」サウルは言った．「私は困りきっています．ペリシテ人が私を攻めて來るのに，神は私から去っておられます．預言者によっても，夢によっても，もう私に答えてくださらないのです．それで私がどうすればよいか敎えていただくために，あなたをお呼びしました．」

Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy?

The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors--to David.

Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today.

The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines."

Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of Samuel's words. His strength was gone, for he had eaten nothing all that day and night.

サムエルは言った．「なぜ，私に尋ねるのか．主はあなたから去り，あなたの敵になられたのに．

すると，サウルは突然，倒れて地上に棒のようになった．サムエルのことばを非常に恐れたからである．それに，その日，一¿夜，何の食事もしていなかったので，彼の力がうせていたからである．

When the woman came to Saul and saw that he was greatly shaken, she said, "Look, your maidservant has obeyed you. I took my life in my hands and did what you told me to do.

Now please listen to your servant and let me give you some food so you may eat and have the strength to go on your way."

He refused and said, "I will not eat." But his men joined the woman in urging him, and he listened to them. He got up from the ground and sat on the couch.

The woman had a fattened calf at the house, which she butchered at once. She took some flour, kneaded it and baked bread without yeast.

Then she set it before Saul and his men, and they ate. That same night they got up and left.

女はサウルのところに來て，サウルが非常におびえているのを見て彼に言った．「あなたのはしためは，あなたの言われたことに聞き從いました．私は自分のいのちをかけて，あなたが言われた命令に從いました．

今度はどうか，あなたがこのはしための言うことを聞き入れてください．パンを少し差し上げますから，それを食べてください．お歸りのとき，元氣になられるでしょう．」

サウルは，これを斷わって，「食べたくない．」と言った．しかし，彼の家來とこの女がしきりに勸めたので，サウルはその言うことを聞き入れて地面から立ち上がり，床の上にすわった．

この女の家に肥えた子牛がいたので，急いでそれをほふり，また，小麥粉を取って練り，種を入れないパンを燒いた．

それをサウルとその家來たちの前に差し出すと，彼らはそれを食べた．その夜，彼らは立ち去った．
