- Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.
- So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
- So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb.
- Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first.
- He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in.

- さて， 週の 初めの 日に， マグダラ の マリヤ は， 朝早くまだ 暗いうちに 墓に 來た． そして， 墓から 石が 取りのけてあるのを 見た．
- それで， 走って， シモン · ペテロ と， イエス が 愛された， もうひとりの 弟子とのところに 來て， 言った． 「だれかが 墓から 主を 取って 行きました． 主をどこに 置いたのか， 私たちにはわかりません． 」
- そこで ペテロ ともうひとりの 弟子は 外に 出て 來て， 墓のほうへ 行った．
- ふたりはいっしょに 走ったが， もうひとりの 弟子が ペテロ よりも 速かったので， 先に 墓に 着いた．
- そして， からだをかがめてのぞき ¿み， 亞麻布が 置いてあるのを 見たが， 中にはいらなかった．

- Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there,
- as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen.
- Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
- (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.)
- Then the disciples went back to their homes,

- シモン · ペテロ も 彼に 續いて 來て， 墓にはいり， 亞麻布が 置いてあって，
- イエス の 頭に 卷かれていた 布切れは， 亞麻布といっしょにはなく， 離れた 所に 卷かれたままになっているのを 見た．
- そのとき， 先に 墓についたもうひとりの 弟子もはいって 來た． そして， 見て， 信じた．
- 彼らは， イエス が 死人の 中からよみがえらなければならないという 聖書を， まだ 理解していなかったのである．
- それで， 弟子たちはまた 自分のところに 歸って 行った．

- but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb
- and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.
- They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?" "They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him."
- At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
- "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."

- しかし， マリヤ は 外で 墓のところにたたずんで 泣いていた． そして， 泣きながら， からだをかがめて 墓の 中をのぞき ¿んだ．
- すると， ふたりの 御使いが， イエス のからだが 置かれていた 場所に， ひとりは 頭のところに， ひとりは 足のところに， 白い 衣をまとってすわっているのが 見えた．
- 彼らは 彼女に 言った． 「なぜ 泣いているのですか． 」彼女は 言った． 「だれかが 私の 主を 取って 行きました． どこに 置いたのか， 私にはわからないのです． 」
- 彼女はこう 言ってから， うしろを 振り 向いた． すると， イエス が 立っておられるのを 見た． しかし， 彼女には イエス であることがわからなかった．
- イエス は 彼女に 言われた． 「なぜ 泣いているのですか． だれを 搜しているのですか． 」彼女は， それを 園の 管理人だと 思って 言った． 「あなたが， あの 方を 運んだのでしたら， どこに 置いたのか 言ってください． そうすれば 私が 引き 取ります． 」

- Jesus said to her, "Mary." She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means Teacher).
- Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' "
- Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: "I have seen the Lord!" And she told them that he had said these things to her.
- On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"
- After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

- イエス は 彼女に 言われた． 「マリヤ ． 」彼女は 振り 向いて， ヘブル 語で， 「ラボニ （すなわち， 先生 ）． 」と イエス に 言った．

- Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
- And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
- If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

- イエス はもう 一度， 彼らに 言われた． 「平安があなたがたにあるように． 父がわたしを 遣わしたように， わたしもあなたがたを 遣わします． 」
- そして， こう 言われると， 彼らに 息を 吹きかけて 言われた． 「聖靈を 受けなさい．
- あなたがたがだれかの 罪を 赦すなら， その 人の 罪は 赦され， あなたがたがだれかの 罪をそのまま 殘すなら， それはそのまま 殘ります． 」
