- Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--
- for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.
- Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who was a pattern of the one to come.
- But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
- Again, the gift of God is not like the result of the one man's sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification.

- そういうわけで， ちょうどひとりの 人によって 罪が 世界にはいり， 罪によって 死がはいり， こうして 死が 全人類に 廣がったのと 同樣に， ··それというのも 全人類が 罪を 犯したからです．
- というのは， 律法が 與えられるまでの 時期にも 罪は 世にあったからです． しかし 罪は， 何かの 律法がなければ， 認められないものです．
- ところが 死は， アダム から モ ― セ までの 間も， アダム の 違反と 同じようには 罪を 犯さなかった 人¿をさえ 支配しました． アダム はきたるべき 方のひな 型です．
- ただし， 惠みには 違反のばあいとは 違う 点があります． もしひとりの 違反によって 多くの 人が 死んだとすれば， それにもまして， 神の 惠みとひとりの 人 イエス · キリスト の 惠みによる 賜物とは， 多くの 人¿に 滿ちあふれるのです．
- また， 賜物には， 罪を 犯したひとりによるばあいと 違った 点があります． さばきのばあいは， 一つの 違反のために 罪に 定められたのですが， 惠みのばあいは， 多くの 違反が 義と 認められるからです．

- For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.
- Consequently, just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men.
- For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
- The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
- so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

- もしひとりの 人の 違反により， ひとりによって 死が 支配するようになったとすれば， なおさらのこと， 惠みと 義の 賜物とを 豊かに 受けている 人¿は， ひとりの 人 イエス · キリスト により， いのちにあって 支配するのです．
- こういうわけで， ちょうど 一つの 違反によってすべての 人が 罪に 定められたのと 同樣に， 一つの 義の 行爲によってすべての 人が 義と 認められて， いのちを 與えられるのです．
- すなわち， ちょうどひとりの 人の 不從順によって 多くの 人が 罪人とされたのと 同樣に， ひとりの 從順によって 多くの 人が 義人とされるのです．
- 律法がはいって 來たのは， 違反が 增し 加わるためです． しかし， 罪の 增し 加わるところには， 惠みも 滿ちあふれました．
- それは， 罪が 死によって 支配したように， 惠みが， 私たちの 主 イエス · キリスト により， 義の 賜物によって 支配し， 永遠のいのちを 得させるためなのです．
