	에스겔 14:1-16:22 하나님께서는 우상을 섬기는 장로들을 책망하셨고, 어떤 의인도 예루살렘의 심판에서 백성들을 구원할 수 없다고 말씀하셨다. 또한 이스라엘 백성을 열매 맺지 못하는 포도나무와 음란한 여인에 비유하여 그들이 심판을 피할 수 없음을 지적하셨다.

	우상 숭배자의 죄(14:1-14:23)

Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.

Then the word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?

Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet, I the LORD will answer him myself in keeping with his great idolatry.

I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.'

イスラエルの長老たちの幾人かが來て，私の前にすわった．

そのとき，私に次のような主のことばがあった．

「人の子よ．これらの者たちは，自分たちの偶像を心の中に秘め，自分たちを不義に引き ¿むものを，顔の前に置いている．わたしは，どうして彼らの願いを聞いてやれようか．

それゆえ，彼らに告げよ．神である主はこう仰せられると言え．心の中に偶像を秘め，不義に引き ¿むものを自分の顔の前に置きながら，預言者のところに來るすべてのイスラエルの家の者には，主であるわたしが，その多くの偶像に應じて答えよう．

偶像のために，みなわたしから離されてしまったイスラエルの家の心をわたしがとらえるためである．

"Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!

" 'When any Israelite or any alien living in Israel separates himself from me and sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet to inquire of me, I the LORD will answer him myself.

I will set my face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

" 'And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the LORD have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.

They will bear their guilt--the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.

それゆえ，イスラエルの家に言え．神である主はこう仰せられる．悔い改めよ．偶像を捨て去り，すべての忌みきらうべきものをあなたがたの前から遠ざけよ．

イスラエルの家の者でも，イスラエルにいる在留異國人でも，だれでもわたしから離れ，心の中に偶像を秘め，不義に引き ¿むものを顔の前に置きながら，わたしに尋ね求めようと，預言者のところに來る者には，主であるわたしが答えよう．

わたしがそのような者から顔をそむけ，彼をしるしとし，語りぐさとして，わたしの民のうちから彼を斷ち滅ぼすとき，あなたがたは，わたしが主であることを知ろう．

もし預言者が惑わされて，ことばを語るなら， ··主であるわたしがその預言者を惑わしたのである． ··わたしは彼に手を伸ばして，わたしの民イスラエルのうちから彼を根絶やしにする．

こういう者たちは，自分たちの咎を負う．この預言者の咎は，尋ね求めた者の咎と同じである．

Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its men and their animals,

even if these three men--Noah, Daniel and Job--were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign LORD.

"Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,

それは，イスラエルの家が，二度とわたしから迷い出ず，重ねて自分たちのそむきの罪によって自分自身を汚さないためであり，彼らがわたしの民となり，わたしも彼らの神となるためである． ··神である主の御告げ． ··」

次のような主のことばが私にあった．

「人の子よ．國が，不信に不信を重ねてわたしに罪を犯し，そのためわたしがその國に手を伸ばし，そこのパンのたくわえをなくし，その國にききんを送り，人間や ¿をそこから斷ち滅ぼすなら，

たとい，そこに，ノアとダニエルとヨブの，これら三人の者がいても，彼らは自分たちの義によって自分たちのいのちを救い出すだけだ． ··神である主の御告げ． ··

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.

"Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, 'Let the sword pass throughout the land,' and I kill its men and their animals,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.

"Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath upon it through bloodshed, killing its men and their animals,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.

たとい，その地にこれら三人の者がいても， ··わたしは生きている．神である主の御告げ． ··彼らは決して自分の息子も娘も救い出すことができない．ただ彼ら自身だけが救い出され，その地は荒れ果てる．

あるいは，わたしがその地に劍を送り，『劍よ．この地を行き巡れ．』と言って，人間や ¿をそこから斷ち滅ぼすとき，

"For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments--sword and famine and wild beasts and plague--to kill its men and their animals!

Yet there will be some survivors--sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem--every disaster I have brought upon it.

You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign LORD."

まことに，神である主はこう仰せられる．人間や ¿を斷ち滅ぼすために，わたしが劍とききんと惡い ¿と疫病との四つのひどい刑罰をエルサレムに送るとき，

見よ，そこに，のがれた者が殘っていて，息子や娘たちを連れ出し，あなたがたのところにやって來よう．あなたがたは彼らの行ないとわざとを見るとき，わたしがエルサレムにもたらしたわざわいと，わたしがそこにもたらしたすべての事について，慰められよう．

	열매 없는 포도나무 비유(15:1-15:8)

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, how is the wood of a vine better than that of a branch on any of the trees in the forest?

Is wood ever taken from it to make anything useful? Do they make pegs from it to hang things on?

And after it is thrown on the fire as fuel and the fire burns both ends and chars the middle, is it then useful for anything?

If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred?

次のような主のことばが私にあった．

人の子よ．ぶどうの木は，森の木立ちの間にあって，その枝が，ほかの木よりどれだけすぐれているのか．

その木を使って何かを作るためにその木は切り出されるだろうか．それとも，あらゆる器具を掛けるためにこれを使って木かぎを作るだろうか．

見よ．それは，たきぎとして火に投げ入れられ，火がその兩端を燒き盡くす．その中ほども焦� ―てしまえば，それは何の役に立つだろうか．

見よ．それが完全なときでも，何も作れないのに，まして，火がそれを燃やして，焦がせば，もう，それで何が作れよう．

"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: As I have given the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest as fuel for the fire, so will I treat the people living in Jerusalem.

I will set my face against them. Although they have come out of the fire, the fire will yet consume them. And when I set my face against them, you will know that I am the LORD.

I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful, declares the Sovereign LORD."

それゆえ，神である主はこう仰せられる．わたしはエルサレムの住民を，わたしがたきぎとして火に投げ入れた，森の木立の間のぶどうの木のように，火に投げ入れてしまう．

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices

and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says to Jerusalem: Your ancestry and birth were in the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

No one looked on you with pity or had compassion enough to do any of these things for you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open field, for on the day you were born you were despised.

ついで，私に次のような主のことばがあった．

「人の子よ．エルサレムにその忌みきらうべきわざをよく知らせて，

言え．神である主はエルサレムについてこう仰せられる．あなたの起こりと，あなたの生まれはカナン人の地である．あなたの父はエモリ人，あなたの母はヘテ人であった．

あなたの生まれは，あなたが生まれた日に，へその緖を切る者もなく，水で洗ってきよめる者もなく，鹽でこする者もなく，布で包んでくれる者もいなかった．

だれもあなたを惜しまず，これらの事の一つでもあなたにしてやって，あなたにあわれみをかけようともしなかった．あなたの生まれた日に，あなたはきらわれて，野原に捨てられた．

" 'Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, "Live!"

I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.

" 'Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine.

" 'I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you.

I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments.

わたしがあなたのそばを通りかかったとき，あなたが自分の血の中でもがいているのを見て，血に染まっているあなたに，『生きよ．』と言い，血に染まっているあなたに，くり返して，『生きよ．』と言った．

わたしはあなたを野原の新芽のように育て上げた．あなたは成長して，大きくなり，十分に円熟して，乳房はふくらみ，髮も伸びた．しかし，あなたはまる裸であった．

I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck,

and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.

And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD.

" 'But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his.

それから，わたしは飾り物であなたを飾り，腕には腕輪をはめ，首には首飾りをかけ，

鼻には鼻輪，兩耳には耳輪をつけ，頭には輝かしい冠をかぶせた．

こうして，あなたは金や銀で飾られ，あなたは亞麻布や絹やあや織り物を着て，上等の小麥粉や蜜や油を食べた．こうして，あなたは非常に美しくなり，榮えて，女王の位についた．

You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. Such things should not happen, nor should they ever occur.

You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them.

And you took your embroidered clothes to put on them, and you offered my oil and incense before them.

Also the food I provided for you--the fine flour, olive oil and honey I gave you to eat--you offered as fragrant incense before them. That is what happened, declares the Sovereign LORD.

" 'And you took your sons and daughters whom you bore to me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. Was your prostitution not enough?

あなたはまた，自分の衣服のいくらかを取り出して，自分のために，まだらに色どった高き所を造り，その上で姦淫を行なった．こんな事はあったことがなく，あってはならないことだ．

You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood.
