사도행전 21:17-21:36

 예루살렘에 도착한 바울은 유대인들의 모함으로 몰매를 맞고 죽음의 위기에 놓였을 때 로마 군대 천부장에게 체포됨으로써 성난 군중들로부터 구출되었다.
  
  예루살렘으로 귀환(21:17-21:26)    
 
  1. When we arrived at Jerusalem, the brothers received us warmly.
  2. The next day Paul and the rest of us went to see James, and all the elders were present.
  3. Paul greeted them and reported in detail what God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
  4. When they heard this, they praised God. Then they said to Paul: "You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law.
  5. They have been informed that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs.
  1. わたしたちが エルサレム に 到着すると， 兄弟たちは 喜んで 迎えてくれた．
  2. 翌日 パウロ はわたしたちを 連れて， ヤコブ を 訪問しに 行った． そこに 長老たちがみな 集まっていた．
  3. パウロ は 彼らにあいさつをした 後， 神が 自分の ¿きをとおして， 異邦人の 間になさった 事どもを 一¿說明した．
  4. 一同はこれを 聞いて 神をほめたたえ， そして 彼に 言った， 「兄弟よ， ご 承知のように， ユダヤ 人の 中で 信者になった 者が， 數万にものぼっているが， みんな 律法に 熱心な 人たちである．
  5. ところが， 彼らが 傳え 聞いているところによれば， あなたは 異邦人の 中にいる ユダヤ 人一同に 對して， 子供に 割禮を 施すな， また ユダヤ の 慣例にしたがうなと 言って， モ ― セ にそむくことを 敎えている， ということである．
  1. What shall we do? They will certainly hear that you have come,
  2. so do what we tell you. There are four men with us who have made a vow.
  3. Take these men, join in their purification rites and pay their expenses, so that they can have their heads shaved. Then everybody will know there is no truth in these reports about you, but that you yourself are living in obedience to the law.
  4. As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they should abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality."
  5. The next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he went to the temple to give notice of the date when the days of purification would end and the offering would be made for each of them.
  1. どうしたらよいか． あなたがここにきていることは， 彼らもきっと 聞き ¿むに 違いない．
  2. ついては， 今わたしたちが 言うとおりのことをしなさい． わたしたちの 中に， 誓願を 立てている 者が 四人いる．
  3. この 人たちを 連れて 行って， 彼らと 共にきよめを 行い， また 彼らの 頭をそる 費用を 引き 受けてやりなさい． そうすれば， あなたについて， うわさされていることは， 根も 葉もないことで， あなたは 律法を 守って， 正しい 生活をしていることが， みんなにわかるであろう．
  4. 異邦人で 信者になった 人たちには， すでに 手紙で， 偶像に 供えたものと， 血と， 絞め 殺したものと， 不品行とを， 愼むようにとの 決議が， わたしたちから 知らせてある 」．
  5. そこで パウロ は， その 次の 日に 四人の 者を 連れて， 彼らと 共にきよめを 受けてから 宮にはいった． そしてきよめの 期間が 終って， ひとりびとりのために 供え 物をささげる 時を 報告しておいた．
 
  바울의 체포(21:27-21:36)    
 
  1. When the seven days were nearly over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
  2. shouting, "Men of Israel, help us! This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against our people and our law and this place. And besides, he has brought Greeks into the temple area and defiled this holy place."
  3. (They had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with Paul and assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple area.)
  4. The whole city was aroused, and the people came running from all directions. Seizing Paul, they dragged him from the temple, and immediately the gates were shut.
  5. While they were trying to kill him, news reached the commander of the Roman troops that the whole city of Jerusalem was in an uproar.
  1. 七日の 期間が 終ろうとしていた 時， アジヤ からきた ユダヤ 人たちが， 宮の 內で パウロ を 見かけて， 群衆全體を �촬沂랴廐릉腥� パウロ に 手をかけて 叫び 立てた，
  2. 「イスラエル の 人¿よ， 加勢にきてくれ． この 人は， いたるところで 民と 律法とこの 場所にそむくことを， みんなに 敎えている． その 上， ギリシヤ 人を 宮の 內に 連れ ¿んで， この 神聖な 場所を 汚したのだ 」．
  3. 彼らは， 前に エペソ 人 トロピモ が， パウロ と 一緖に 町を 步いていたのを 見かけて， その 人を パウロ が 宮の 內に 連れ ¿んだのだと 思ったのである．
  4. そこで， 市全體が ¿ぎ 出し， 民衆が 驅け 集まってきて， パウロ を 捕え， 宮の 外に 引きずり 出した． そして， すぐそのあとに 宮の 門が 閉ざされた．
  5. 彼らが パウロ を 殺そうとしていた 時に， エルサレム 全體が 混亂狀態に 陷っているとの 情報が， 守備隊の 千卒長にとどいた．
  1. He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd. When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
  2. The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.
  3. Some in the crowd shouted one thing and some another, and since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be taken into the barracks.
  4. When Paul reached the steps, the violence of the mob was so great he had to be carried by the soldiers.
  5. The crowd that followed kept shouting, "Away with him!"
  1. そこで， 彼はさっそく， 兵卒や 百卒長たちを 率いて， その 場に 驅けつけた． 人¿は 千卒長や 兵卒たちを 見て， パウロ を 打ちたたくのをやめた．
  2. 千卒長は 近寄ってきて パウロ を 捕え， 彼を 二重の 鎖で 縛っておくように 命じた 上， パウロ は 何者か， また 何をしたのか， と 尋ねた．
  3. しかし， 群衆がそれぞれ 違ったことを 叫びつづけるため， ¿がしくて， 確かなことがわからないので， 彼は パウロ を 兵營に 連れて 行くように 命じた．
  4. パウロ が 階段にさしかかった 時には， 群衆の 暴行を 避けるため， 兵卒たちにかつがれて 行くという 始末であった．
  5. 大ぜいの 民衆が「あれをやっつけてしまえ 」と 叫びながら， ついてきたからである．
