- For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
- that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
- We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

- わたしは 思う． 今のこの 時の 苦しみは， やがてわたしたちに 現されようとする 榮光に 比べると， 言うに 足りない．
- 被造物は， 實に， 切なる 思いで 神の 子たちの 出現を 待ち 望んでいる．
- なぜなら， 被造物が 虛無に 服したのは， 自分の 意志によるのではなく， 服從させたかたによるのであり，
- かつ， 被造物自身にも， 滅びのなわめから 解放されて， 神の 子たちの 榮光の 自由に 入る 望みが 殘されているからである．
- 實に， 被造物全體が， 今に 至るまで， 共にうめき 共に 産みの 苦しみを 續けていることを， わたしたちは 知っている．

- Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
- For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
- But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
- In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
- And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

- それだけではなく， 御靈の 最初の 實を 持っているわたしたち 自身も， 心の 內でうめきながら， 子たる 身分を 授けられること， すなわち， からだのあがなわれることを 待ち 望んでいる．
- わたしたちは， この 望みによって 救われているのである． しかし， 目に 見える 望みは 望みではない． なぜなら， 現に 見ている 事を， どうして， なお 望む 人があろうか．
- もし， わたしたちが 見ないことを 望むなら， わたしたちは 忍耐して， それを 待ち 望むのである．
- 御靈もまた 同じように， 弱いわたしを 助けて 下さる． なぜなら， わたしたちはどう 祈ったらよいかわからないが， 御靈みずから， 言葉にあらわせない 切なるうめきをもって， わたしたちのためにとりなして 下さるからである．
- そして， 人の 心を 探り 知るかたは， 御靈の 思うところがなんであるかを 知っておられる． なぜなら， 御靈は， 聖徒のために， 神の 御旨にかなうとりなしをして 下さるからである．

- And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
- For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
- And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
- What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

- 神は， 神を 愛する 者たち， すなわち， ご 計畵に 從って 召された 者たちと 共に ¿いて， 万事を 益となるようにして 下さることを， わたしたちは 知っている．
- 神はあらかじめ 知っておられる 者たちを， 更に 御子のかたちに 似たものとしようとして， あらかじめ 定めて 下さった． それは， 御子を 多くの 兄弟の 中で 長子とならせるためであった．
- そして， あらかじめ 定めた 者たちを 更に 召し， 召した 者たちを 更に 義とし， 義とした 者たちには， 更に 榮光を 與えて 下さったのである．
- それでは， これらの 事について， なんと 言おうか． もし， 神がわたしたちの 味方であるなら， だれがわたしたちに 敵し 得ようか．
- ご 自身の 御子をさえ 惜しまないで， わたしたちすべての 者のために 死に 渡されたかたが， どうして， 御子のみならず 万物をも 賜わらないことがあろうか．

- Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
- Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
- Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
- As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."
- No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

- だれが， 神の 選ばれた 者たちを 訴えるのか． 神は 彼らを 義とされるのである．
- だれが， わたしたちを 罪に 定めるのか． キリスト · イエス は， 死んで， 否， よみがえって， 神の 右に 座し， また， わたしたちのためにとりなして 下さるのである．
- だれが， キリスト の 愛からわたしたちを 離れさせるのか． 患難か， 苦惱か， 迫害か， 飢えか， 裸か， 危難か， 劍か．
- 「わたしたちはあなたのために 終日， ／死に 定められており， ／ほふられる 羊のように 見られている 」／と 書いてあるとおりである．
- しかし， わたしたちを 愛して 下さったかたによって， わたしたちは， これらすべての 事において 勝ち 得て 余りがある．

- For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
- neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

- わたしは 確信する． 死も 生も， 天使も 支配者も， 現在のものも 將來のものも， 力あるものも，
- 高いものも 深いものも， その 他どんな 被造物も， わたしたちの 主 キリスト · イエス における 神の 愛から， わたしたちを 引き 離すことはできないのである．
