- I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry
- in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.
- For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
- If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches.
- If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,

- そこでわたしは， あなたがた 異邦人に 言う． わたし 自身は 異邦人の 使徒なのであるから， わたしの 務を 光榮とし，
- どうにかしてわたしの 骨肉を 奮起させ， 彼らの 幾人かを 救おうと 願っている．
- もし 彼らの 捨てられたことが 世の 和解となったとすれば， 彼らの 受けいれられることは， 死人の 中から 生き 返ることではないか．
- もし， 麥粉の 初穗がきよければ， そのかたまりもきよい． もし 根がきよければ， その 枝もきよい．
- しかし， もしある 枝が 切り 去られて， 野生の オリブ であるあなたがそれにつがれ， オリブ の 根の 豊かな 養分にあずかっているとすれば，

- do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.
- You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."
- Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid.
- For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
- Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.

- あなたはその 枝に 對して 誇ってはならない． たとえ 誇るとしても， あなたが 根をささえているのではなく， 根があなたをささえているのである．
- すると， あなたは， 「枝が 切り 去られたのは， わたしがつがれるためであった 」と 言うであろう．
- まさに， そのとおりである． 彼らは 不信仰のゆえに 切り 去られ， あなたは 信仰のゆえに 立っているのである． 高ぶった 思いをいだかないで， むしろ 恐れなさい．
- もし 神が 元木の 枝を 惜しまなかったとすれば， あなたを 惜しむようなことはないであろう．
- 神の 慈愛と 峻嚴とを 見よ． 神の 峻嚴は 倒れた 者たちに 向けられ， 神の 慈愛は， もしあなたがその 慈愛にとどまっているなら， あなたに 向けられる． そうでないと， あなたも 切り 取られるであろう．

- And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
- After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
- I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
- And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
- And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."

- しかし 彼らも， 不信仰を 續けなければ， つがれるであろう． 神には 彼らを 再びつぐ 力がある．
- なぜなら， もしあなたが 自然のままの 野生の オリブ から 切り 取られ， 自然の 性質に 反して 良い オリブ につがれたとすれば， まして， これら 自然のままの 良い 枝は， もっとたやすく， 元の オリブ につがれないであろうか．
- 兄弟たちよ． あなたがたが 知者だと 自負することのないために， この 奧義を 知らないでいてもらいたくない． 一部の イスラエル 人がかたくなになったのは， 異邦人が 全部救われるに 至る 時までのことであって，
- こうして， イスラエル 人は， すべて 救われるであろう． すなわち， 次のように 書いてある， ／「救う 者が シオン からきて， ／ ヤコブ から 不信心を 追い 拂うであろう．
- そして， これが， 彼らの 罪を 除き 去る 時に， ／彼らに 對して 立てるわたしの 契約である 」．

- As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,
- for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.
- Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience,
- so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you.
- For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

- 福音について 言えば， 彼らは， あなたがたのゆえに， 神の 敵とされているが， 選びについて 言えば， 父祖たちのゆえに， 神に 愛せられる 者である．
- 神の 賜物と 召しとは， 變えられることがない．
- あなたがたが， かつては 神に 不從順であったが， 今は 彼らの 不從順によってあわれみを 受けたように，
- 彼らも 今は 不從順になっているが， それは， あなたがたの 受けたあわれみによって， 彼ら 自身も 今あわれみを 受けるためなのである．
- すなわち， 神はすべての 人をあわれむために， すべての 人を 不從順のなかに 閉じ ¿めたのである．

- Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
- "Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?"
- "Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?"
- For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

- ああ 深いかな， 神の 知惠と 知識との 富は． そのさばきは 窮めがたく， その 道は 測りがたい．
- 「だれが， 主の 心を 知っていたか． だれが， 主の 計畵にあずかったか．
- また， だれが， まず 主に 與えて， ／その 報いを 受けるであろうか 」．
- 万物は， 神からいで， 神によって 成り， 神に 歸するのである． 榮光がとこしえに 神にあるように， アァメン ．
