욥기

  본서는 공의로운 하나님께서 불의를 방관하신 이유와 의로운 자가 고난받는 원인이 무엇인지를 밝혀 주며, 고난을 통하여 하나님을 더욱 의지해야 한다는 것을 보여 주고 있다. 특히 하나님, 인간, 창조, 사단, 죄, 의, 고난, 정의, 회개, 믿음의 개념을 성경적으로 올바르게 정리하는 데 공헌하고 있다.

  본서는 서론인 1, 2장과 본론인 3:1 - 42:6, 그리고 결론인 42:7-17로 명확하게 구분되어 있으며 상호 논리적 필연성으로 연결되어 있다. 즉 서론은 문제의 발단을 기록하고 있으며, 본론은 욥이 당한 고난에 대하여 욥과 친구들의 변론 및 하나님의 메시지를 통하여 다양하게 해석하고 있고, 결론은 하나님의 은혜로 모든 것이 회복된 상황을 보여주고 있다.

 

 

욥기 1:1-3:26

 욥은 순전하고 정직하여 하나님을 경외하며 악에서 떠난 자였다. 그러나 사단의 참소로 인해 욥은 그의 모든 소유물들과 자녀들을 잃고 온몸에 악창이 생겼다. 그렇지만 욥은 하나님께 입술로 범죄하지 않았으며, 이 소식을 듣고 찾아온 친구 엘리바스, 빌닷, 소발은 욥의 상태를 보고 7일 동안 말을 걸지 못하였다. 절망한 욥은 자신의 생일을 저주하였다.
  
  사단의 시험(1:1-1:22)    
 
  1. In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
  2. He had seven sons and three daughters,
  3. and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
  4. His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
  5. When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, "Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts." This was Job's regular custom.
  1. ウヅ の 地に ヨブ という 名の 人があった． そのひととなりは 全く， かつ 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡に 遠ざかった．
  2. 彼に 男の 子七人と 女の 子三人があり，
  3. その 家畜は 羊七千頭， らくだ 三千頭， 牛五百くびき， 雌ろば 五百頭で， しもべも 非常に 多く， この 人は 東の 人¿のうちで 最も 大いなる 者であった．
  4. そのむすこたちは， めいめい 自分の 日に， 自分の 家でふるまいを 設け， その 三人の 姉妹をも 招いて 一緖に 食い 飮みするのを 常とした．
  5. そのふるまいの 日がひとめぐり 終るごとに， ヨブ は 彼らを 呼び 寄せて 聖別し， 朝早く 起きて， 彼らすべての 數にしたがって §祭をささげた． これは ヨブ が「わたしのむすこたちは， ことによったら 罪を 犯し， その 心に 神をのろったかもしれない 」と 思ったからである． ヨブ はいつも， このように 行った．
  1. One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them.
  2. The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
  3. Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."
  4. "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied.
  5. "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
  1. ある 日， 神の 子たちが 來て， 主の 前に 立った． サタン も 來てその 中にいた．
  2. 主は 言われた， 「あなたはどこから 來たか 」． サタン は 主に 答えて 言った， 「地を 行きめぐり， あちらこちら 步いてきました 」．
  3. 主は サタン に 言われた， 「あなたはわたしのしもべ ヨブ のように 全く， かつ 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡に 遠ざかる 者の 世にないことを 氣づいたか 」．
  4. サタン は 主に 答えて 言った， 「ヨブ はいたずらに 神を 恐れましょうか．
  5. あなたは 彼とその 家およびすべての 所有物のまわりにくまなく， まがきを 設けられたではありませんか． あなたは 彼の 勤勞を 祝福されたので， その 家畜は 地にふえたのです．
  1. But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."
  2. The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger." Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
  3. One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
  4. a messenger came to Job and said, "The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby,
  5. and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
  1. しかし 今あなたの 手を 伸べて， 彼のすべての 所有物を 擊ってごらんなさい． 彼は 必ずあなたの 顔に 向かって， あなたをのろうでしょう 」．
  2. 主は サタン に 言われた， 「見よ， 彼のすべての 所有物をあなたの 手にまかせる． ただ 彼の 身に 手をつけてはならない 」． サタン は 主の 前から 出て 行った．
  3. ある 日 ヨブ のむすこ， 娘たちが 第一の 兄の 家で 食事をし， 酒を 飮んでいたとき，
  4. 使者が ヨブ のもとに 來て 言った， 「牛が 耕し， ろばがそのかたわらで 草を 食っていると，
  5. シバ びとが 襲ってきて， これを 奪い， つるぎをもってしもべたちを 打ち 殺しました． わたしはただひとりのがれて， あなたに 告げるために 來ました 」．
  1. While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
  2. While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, "The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
  3. While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, "Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
  4. when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!"
  5. At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship
  1. 彼がなお 語っているうちに， またひとりが 來て 言った， 「神の 火が 天から 下って， 羊およびしもべたちを 燒き 滅ぼしました． わたしはただひとりのがれて， あなたに 告げるために 來ました 」．
  2. 彼がなお 語っているうちに， またひとりが 來て 言った， 「カルデヤ びとが 三組に 分れて 來て， らくだを 襲ってこれを 奪い， つるぎをもってしもべたちを 打ち 殺しました． わたしはただひとりのがれて， あなたに 告げるために 來ました 」．
  3. 彼がなお 語っているうちに， またひとりが 來て 言った， 「あなたのむすこ， 娘たちが 第一の 兄の 家で 食事をし， 酒を 飮んでいると，
  4. 荒野の 方から 大風が 吹いてきて， 家の 四すみを 擊ったので， あの 若い 人たちの 上につぶれ 落ちて， 皆死にました． わたしはただひとりのがれて， あなたに 告げるために 來ました 」．
  5. このとき ヨブ は 起き 上がり， 上着を 裂き， 頭をそり， 地に 伏して 拜し，
  1. and said: "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised."
  2. In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
  1. そして 言った， ／「わたしは 裸で 母の 胎を 出た． また 裸でかしこに 歸ろう． 主が 與え， 主が 取られたのだ． 主のみ 名はほむべきかな 」．
  2. すべてこの 事において ヨブ は 罪を 犯さず， また 神に 向かって 愚かなことを 言わなかった．
 
  사단의 두번째 시험(2:1-2:13)    
 
  1. On another day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him.
  2. And the LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?" Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."
  3. Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity, though you incited me against him to ruin him without any reason."
  4. "Skin for skin!" Satan replied. "A man will give all he has for his own life.
  5. But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face."
  1. ある 日， また 神の 子たちが 來て， 主の 前に 立った． サタン もまたその 中に 來て， 主の 前に 立った．
  2. 主は サタン に 言われた， 「あなたはどこから 來たか 」． サタン は 主に 答えて 言った， 「地を 行きめぐり， あちらこちら 步いてきました 」．
  3. 主は サタン に 言われた， 「あなたは， わたしのしもべ ヨブ のように 全く， かつ 正しく， 神を 恐れ， 惡に 遠ざかる 者の 世にないことを 氣づいたか． あなたは， わたしを 勸めて， ゆえなく 彼を 滅ぼそうとしたが， 彼はなお 堅く 保って， おのれを 全うした 」．
  4. サタン は 主に 答えて 言った， 「皮には 皮をもってします． 人は 自分の 命のために， その 持っているすべての 物をも 與えます．
  5. しかしいま， あなたの 手を 伸べて， 彼の 骨と 肉とを 擊ってごらんなさい． 彼は 必ずあなたの 顔に 向かって， あなたをのろうでしょう 」．
  1. The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life."
  2. So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head.
  3. Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
  4. His wife said to him, "Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die!"
  5. He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.
  1. 主は サタン に 言われた， 「見よ， 彼はあなたの 手にある． ただ 彼の 命を 助けよ 」．
  2. サタン は 主の 前から 出て 行って， ヨブ を 擊ち， その 足の 裏から 頭の 頂まで， いやな 腫物をもって 彼を 惱ました．
  3. ヨブ は 陶器の 破片を 取り， それで 自分の 身をかき， 灰の 中にすわった．
  4. 時にその 妻は 彼に 言った， 「あなたはなおも 堅く 保って， 自分を 全うするのですか． 神をのろって 死になさい 」．
  5. しかし ヨブ は 彼女に 言った， 「あなたの 語ることは 愚かな 女の 語るのと 同じだ． われわれは 神から 幸をうけるのだから， 災をも， うけるべきではないか 」． すべてこの 事において ヨブ はそのくちびるをもって 罪を 犯さなかった．
  1. When Job's three friends, Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite, heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him.
  2. When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads.
  3. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was.
  1. 時に， ヨブ の 三人の 友がこのすべての 災の ヨブ に 臨んだのを 聞いて， めいめい 自分の 所から 尋ねて 來た． すなわち テマン びと エリパズ ， シュヒ びと ビルダデ ， ナアマ びと ゾパル である． 彼らは ヨブ をいたわり， 慰めようとして， たがいに 約束してきたのである．
  2. 彼らは 目をあげて 遠方から 見たが， 彼の ヨブ であることを 認めがたいほどであったので， 聲をあげて 泣き， めいめい 自分の 上着を 裂き， 天に 向かって， ちりをうちあげ， 自分たちの 頭の 上にまき 散らした．
  3. こうして 七日七夜， 彼と 共に 地に 座していて， ひと 言も 彼に 話しかける 者がなかった． 彼の 苦しみの 非常に 大きいのを 見たからである．
 
  자기의 생일을 저주하는 욥(3:1-3:26)    
 
  1. After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth.
  2. He said:
  3. "May the day of my birth perish, and the night it was said, 'A boy is born!'
  4. That day--may it turn to darkness; may God above not care about it; may no light shine upon it.
  5. May darkness and deep shadow claim it once more; may a cloud settle over it; may blackness overwhelm its light.
  1. この 後， ヨブ は 口を 開いて， 自分の 生れた 日をのろった．
  2. すなわち ヨブ は 言った，
  3. 「わたしの 生れた 日は 滅びうせよ． 『男の 子が， 胎にやどった 』と 言った 夜も ／そのようになれ．
  4. その 日は 暗くなるように． 神が 上からこれを 顧みられないように． 光がこれを 照さないように．
  5. やみと 暗黑がこれを 取りもどすように． 雲が， その 上にとどまるように． 日を 暗くする 者が， これを 脅かすように．
  1. That night--may thick darkness seize it; may it not be included among the days of the year nor be entered in any of the months.
  2. May that night be barren; may no shout of joy be heard in it.
  3. May those who curse days curse that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.
  4. May its morning stars become dark; may it wait for daylight in vain and not see the first rays of dawn,
  5. for it did not shut the doors of the womb on me to hide trouble from my eyes.
  1. その 夜は， 暗やみが， これを 捕えるように． 年の 日のうちに 加わらないように． 月の 數にもはいらないように．
  2. また， その 夜は， はらむことのないように． 喜びの 聲がそのうちに 聞かれないように．
  3. 日をのろう 者が， これをのろうように． レビヤタン を 奮い 起すに 巧みな 者が， ／これをのろうように．
  4. その 明けの 星は 暗くなるように． 光を 望んでも， 得られないように． また， あけぼののまぶたを 見ることのないように．
  5. これは， わたしの 母の 胎の 戶を 閉じず， ／また 惱みをわたしの 目に 隱さなかったからである．
  1. "Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb?
  2. Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed?
  3. For now I would be lying down in peace; I would be asleep and at rest
  4. with kings and counselors of the earth, who built for themselves places now lying in ruins,
  5. with rulers who had gold, who filled their houses with silver.
  1. なにゆえ， わたしは 胎から 出て， 死ななかったのか． 腹から 出たとき 息が 絶えなかったのか．
  2. なにゆえ， ひざが， わたしを 受けたのか． なにゆえ， 乳ぶさがあって， ／わたしはそれを 吸ったのか．
  3. そうしなかったならば， ／わたしは 伏して 休み， 眠ったであろう． そうすればわたしは 安んじており，
  4. 自分のために 荒れ 跡を 築き 直した ／地の 王たち， 參議たち，
  5. あるいは， こがねを 持ち， ／しろがねを 家に 滿たした ／君たちと 一緖にいたであろう．
  1. Or why was I not hidden in the ground like a stillborn child, like an infant who never saw the light of day?
  2. There the wicked cease from turmoil, and there the weary are at rest.
  3. Captives also enjoy their ease; they no longer hear the slave driver's shout.
  4. The small and the great are there, and the slave is freed from his master.
  5. "Why is light given to those in misery, and life to the bitter of soul,
  1. なにゆえ， わたしは 人知れずおりる 胎兒のごとく， ／光を 見ないみどりごのようでなかったのか．
  2. かしこでは 惡人も， あばれることをやめ， ／うみ 疲れた 者も， 休みを 得，
  3. 捕われ 人も 共に 安らかにおり， ／追い 使う 者の 聲を 聞かない．
  4. 小さい 者も 大きい 者もそこにおり， ／奴隷も， その 主人から 解き 放される．
  5. なにゆえ， 惱む 者に 光を 賜い， ／心の 苦しむ 者に 命を 賜わったのか．
  1. to those who long for death that does not come, who search for it more than for hidden treasure,
  2. who are filled with gladness and rejoice when they reach the grave?
  3. Why is life given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in?
  4. For sighing comes to me instead of food; my groans pour out like water.
  5. What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me.
  1. このような 人は 死を 望んでも 來ない， ／これを 求めることは 隱れた 寶を ／掘るよりも， はなはだしい．
  2. 彼らは 墓を 見いだすとき， 非常に 喜び 樂しむのだ．
  3. なにゆえ， その 道の 隱された 人に， ／神が， まがきをめぐらされた 人に， 光を 賜わるのか．
  4. わたしの 嘆きはわが 食物に 代って 來り， ／わたしのうめきは 水のように 流れ 出る．
  5. わたしの 恐れるものが， わたしに 臨み， ／わたしの 恐れおののくものが， わが 身に 及ぶ．
  1. I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil."
  1. わたしは 安らかでなく， またおだやかでない． わたしは 休みを 得ない， ただ 惱みのみが 來る 」．
