- The Pharisees came and began to question Jesus. To test him, they asked him for a sign from heaven.
- He sighed deeply and said, "Why does this generation ask for a miraculous sign? I tell you the truth, no sign will be given to it."
- Then he left them, got back into the boat and crossed to the other side.
- The disciples had forgotten to bring bread, except for one loaf they had with them in the boat.
- "Be careful," Jesus warned them. "Watch out for the yeast of the Pharisees and that of Herod."

- ファリサイ 派の 人¿が 來て， イエス を 試そうとして， 天からのしるしを 求め， 議論をしかけた．
- イエス は， 心の 中で 深く 嘆いて 言われた． 「どうして， 今の 時代の 者たちはしるしを 欲しがるのだろう． はっきり 言っておく． 今の 時代の 者たちには， 決してしるしは 與えられない． 」
- そして， 彼らをそのままにして， また 舟に 乘って 向こう 岸へ 行かれた．
- 弟子たちは パン を 持って 來るのを 忘れ， 舟の 中には 一つの パン しか 持ち 合わせていなかった．
- そのとき， イエス は， 「ファリサイ 派の 人¿の パン 種と ヘロデ の パン 種によく 氣をつけなさい 」と 戒められた．

- They discussed this with one another and said, "It is because we have no bread."
- Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: "Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened?
- Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don't you remember?
- When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" "Twelve," they replied.
- "And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you pick up?" They answered, "Seven."

- 弟子たちは， これは 自分たちが パン を 持っていないからなのだ， と 論じ 合っていた．
- イエス はそれに 氣づいて 言われた． 「なぜ， パン を 持っていないことで 議論するのか． まだ， 分からないのか． 悟らないのか． 心がかたくなになっているのか．
- 目があっても 見えないのか． 耳があっても 聞こえないのか． 覺えていないのか．
- わたしが 五千人に 五つの パン を 裂いたとき， 集めた パン の 屑でいっぱいになった ζ は， 幾つあったか． 」弟子たちは， 「十二です 」と 言った．
- 「七つの パン を 四千人に 裂いたときには， 集めた パン の 屑でいっぱいになった ζ は， 幾つあったか． 」「七つです 」と 言うと，

- He said to them, "Do you still not understand?"
- They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him.
- He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?"
- He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around."
- Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

- イエス は， 「まだ 悟らないのか 」と 言われた．
- 一行は ベトサイダ に 着いた． 人¿が 一人の 盲人を イエス のところに 連れて 來て， 觸れていただきたいと 願った．
- イエス は 盲人の 手を 取って， 村の 外に 連れ 出し， その 目に 唾をつけ， 兩手をその 人の 上に 置いて， 「何か 見えるか 」とお 尋ねになった．
- すると， 盲人は 見えるようになって， 言った． 「人が 見えます． 木のようですが， 步いているのが 分かります． 」
- そこで， イエス がもう 一度兩手をその 目に 當てられると， よく 見えてきていやされ， 何でもはっきり 見えるようになった．

- Jesus sent him home, saying, "Don't go into the village."
- Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, "Who do people say I am?"
- They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets."
- "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."
- Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about him.

- イエス は， 「この 村に 入ってはいけない 」と 言って， その 人を 家に 歸された．
- イエス は， 弟子たちと フィリポ · カイサリア 地方の 方¿の 村にお 出かけになった． その 途中， 弟子たちに， 「人¿は， わたしのことを 何者だと 言っているか 」と 言われた．
- 弟子たちは 言った． 「『洗禮者 ヨハネ だ 』と 言っています． ほかに， 『エリヤ だ 』と 言う 人も， 『預言者の 一人だ 』と 言う 人もいます． 」
- そこで イエス がお 尋ねになった． 「それでは， あなたがたはわたしを 何者だと 言うのか． 」 ペトロ が 答えた． 「あなたは， メシア です． 」
- すると イエス は， 御自分のことをだれにも 話さないようにと 弟子たちを 戒められた．

- He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
- He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him.
- But when Jesus turned and looked at his disciples, he rebuked Peter. "Get behind me, Satan!" he said. "You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
- Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
- For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.

- それから イエス は， 人の 子は 必ず 多くの 苦しみを 受け， 長老， 祭司長， 律法學者たちから 排斥されて 殺され， 三日の 後に 復活することになっている， と 弟子たちに 敎え 始められた．
- しかも， そのことをはっきりとお 話しになった． すると， ペトロ は イエス をわきへお 連れして， いさめ 始めた．
- イエス は 振り 返って， 弟子たちを 見ながら， ペトロ を 叱って 言われた． 「サタン ， 引き 下がれ． あなたは 神のことを 思わず， 人間のことを 思っている． 」
- それから， 群衆を 弟子たちと 共に 呼び 寄せて 言われた． 「わたしの 後に 從いたい 者は， 自分を 捨て， 自分の 十字架を 背負って， わたしに 從いなさい．
- 自分の 命を 救いたいと 思う 者は， それを 失うが， わたしのため， また 福音のために 命を 失う 者は， それを 救うのである．

- What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
- Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
- If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

- 人は， たとえ 全世界を 手に 入れても， 自分の 命を 失ったら， 何の 得があろうか．
- 自分の 命を 買い 戾すのに， どんな 代價を 支拂えようか．
- 神に 背いたこの 罪深い 時代に， わたしとわたしの 言葉を 恥じる 者は， 人の 子もまた， 父の 榮光に 輝いて 聖なる 天使たちと 共に 來るときに， その 者を 恥じる． 」
