- People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
- When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
- I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
- And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
- As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

- イエス に 觸れていただくために， 人¿が 子供たちを 連れて 來た． 弟子たちはこの 人¿を 叱った．
- しかし， イエス はこれを 見て 憤り， 弟子たちに 言われた． 「子供たちをわたしのところに 來させなさい． 妨げてはならない． 神の 國はこのような 者たちのものである．
- はっきり 言っておく． 子供のように 神の 國を 受け 入れる 人でなければ， 決してそこに 入ることはできない． 」
- そして， 子供たちを 抱き 上げ， 手を 置いて 祝福された．
- イエス が 旅に 出ようとされると， ある 人が 走り 寄って， ひざまずいて 尋ねた． 「善い 先生， 永遠の 命を 受け 繼ぐには， 何をすればよいでしょうか． 」

- "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good--except God alone.
- You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'"
- "Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."
- Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
- At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

- イエス は 言われた． 「なぜ， わたしを『善い 』と 言うのか． 神おひとりのほかに， 善い 者はだれもいない．
- 『殺すな， 姦淫するな， 盜むな， 僞證するな， 奪い 取るな， 父母を 敬え 』という ¿をあなたは 知っているはずだ． 」
- すると 彼は， 「先生， そういうことはみな， 子供の 時から 守ってきました 」と 言った．
- イエス は 彼を 見つめ， 慈しんで 言われた． 「あなたに 欠けているものが 一つある． 行って 持っている 物を 賣り 拂い， 貧しい 人¿に 施しなさい． そうすれば， 天に 富を 積むことになる． それから， わたしに 從いなさい． 」
- その 人はこの 言葉に 氣を 落とし， 悲しみながら 立ち 去った． たくさんの 財産を 持っていたからである．

- Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"
- The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
- It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
- The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?"
- Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

- イエス は 弟子たちを 見回して 言われた． 「財産のある 者が 神の 國に 入るのは， なんと 難しいことか． 」
- 弟子たちはこの 言葉を 聞いて 驚いた． イエス は 更に 言葉を 續けられた． 「子たちよ， 神の 國に 入るのは， なんと 難しいことか．
- 金持ちが 神の 國に 入るよりも， らくだが 針の 穴を 通る 方がまだ 易しい． 」
- 弟子たちはますます 驚いて， 「それでは， だれが 救われるのだろうか 」と 互いに 言った．
- イエス は 彼らを 見つめて 言われた． 「人間にできることではないが， 神にはできる． 神は 何でもできるからだ． 」

- Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!"
- "I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel
- will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields--and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life.
- But many who are first will be last, and the last first."

- ペトロ が イエス に， 「このとおり， わたしたちは 何もかも 捨ててあなたに 從って 參りました 」と 言いだした．
- イエス は 言われた． 「はっきり 言っておく． わたしのためまた 福音のために， 家， 兄弟， 姉妹， 母， 父， 子供， 畑を 捨てた 者はだれでも，
- 今この 世で， 迫害も 受けるが， 家， 兄弟， 姉妹， 母， 子供， 畑も 百倍受け， 後の 世では 永遠の 命を 受ける．
- しかし， 先にいる 多くの 者が 後になり， 後にいる 多くの 者が 先になる． 」
