- One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
- He said to them, "When you pray, say: " 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.
- Give us each day our daily bread.
- Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.' "
- Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,

- イエス はある 所で 祈っておられた． 祈りが 終わると， 弟子の 一人が イエス に， 「主よ， ヨハネ が 弟子たちに 敎えたように， わたしたちにも 祈りを 敎えてください 」と 言った．
- そこで， イエス は 言われた． 「祈るときには， こう 言いなさい． 『父よ， ／御名が 崇められますように． 御國が 來ますように．
- わたしたちに 必要な 糧を 每日與えてください．
- わたしたちの 罪を 赦してください， ／わたしたちも 自分に 負い 目のある 人を ／皆赦しますから． わたしたちを 誘惑に 遭わせないでください． 』」
- また， 弟子たちに 言われた． 「あなたがたのうちのだれかに 友達がいて， 眞夜中にその 人のところに 行き， 次のように 言ったとしよう． 『友よ， パン を 三つ 貸してください．

- because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.'
- "Then the one inside answers, 'Don't bother me. The door is already locked, and my children are with me in bed. I can't get up and give you anything.'
- I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
- "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
- For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

- 旅行中の 友達がわたしのところに 立ち 寄ったが， 何も 出すものがないのです． 』
- すると， その 人は 家の 中から 答えるにちがいない． 『面倒をかけないでください． もう 戶は 閉めたし， 子供たちはわたしのそばで 寢ています． 起きてあなたに 何かをあげるわけにはいきません． 』
- しかし， 言っておく． その 人は， 友達だからということでは 起きて 何か 與えるようなことはなくても， しつように 賴めば， 起きて 來て 必要なものは 何でも 與えるであろう．
- そこで， わたしは 言っておく． 求めなさい． そうすれば， 與えられる． 探しなさい． そうすれば， 見つかる． 門をたたきなさい． そうすれば， 開かれる．
- だれでも， 求める 者は 受け， 探す 者は 見つけ， 門をたたく 者には 開かれる．

- "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?
- Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
- If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

- あなたがたの 中に， 魚を 欲しがる 子供に， 魚の 代わりに 蛇を 與える 父親がいるだろうか．
- また， 卵を 欲しがるのに， さそりを 與える 父親がいるだろうか．
- このように， あなたがたは 惡い 者でありながらも， 自分の 子供には 良い 物を 與えることを 知っている． まして 天の 父は 求める 者に 聖靈を 與えてくださる． 」
