- In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.
- In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.
- No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God's approval.
- When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat,
- for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk.

- 次のことを 指示するにあたって， わたしはあなたがたをほめるわけにはいきません． あなたがたの 集まりが， 良い 結果よりは， むしろ 惡い 結果を 招いているからです．
- まず 第一に， あなたがたが 敎會で 集まる 際， お 互いの 間に 仲間割れがあると 聞いています． わたしもある 程度そういうことがあろうかと 思います．
- あなたがたの 間で， だれが 適格者かはっきりするためには， 仲間爭いも 避けられないかもしれません．
- それでは， 一緖に 集まっても， 主の 晩餐を 食べることにならないのです．
- なぜなら， 食事のとき 各自が 勝手に 自分の 分を 食べてしまい， 空腹の 者がいるかと 思えば， 醉っている 者もいるという 始末だからです．

- Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not!
- For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
- and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
- In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."
- For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

- あなたがたには， 飮んだり 食べたりする 家がないのですか． それとも， 神の 敎會を 見くびり， 貧しい 人¿に 恥をかかせようというのですか． わたしはあなたがたに 何と 言ったらよいのだろう． ほめることにしようか． この 点については， ほめるわけにはいきません．

- Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
- A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
- For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
- That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
- But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.

- 從って， ふさわしくないままで 主の パン を 食べたり， その 杯を 飮んだりする 者は， 主の 體と 血に 對して 罪を 犯すことになります．
- だれでも， 自分をよく 確かめたうえで， その パン を 食べ， その 杯から 飮むべきです．
- 主の 體のことをわきまえずに 飮み 食いする 者は， 自分自身に 對する 裁きを 飮み 食いしているのです．
- そのため， あなたがたの 間に 弱い 者や 病人がたくさんおり， 多くの 者が 死んだのです．
- わたしたちは， 自分をわきまえていれば， 裁かれはしません．

- When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
- So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.
- If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions.

- 裁かれるとすれば， それは， わたしたちが 世と 共に 罪に 定められることがないようにするための， 主の 懲らしめなのです．
- わたしの 兄弟たち， こういうわけですから， 食事のために 集まるときには， 互いに 待ち 合わせなさい．
- 空腹の 人は， 家で 食事を 濟ませなさい． 裁かれるために 集まる， というようなことにならないために． その 他のことについては， わたしがそちらに 行ったときに 決めましょう．
