- Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them.

- 子らよ， 父の 諭しを 聞け ／分別をわきまえるために， 耳を 傾けよ．
- わたしは 幸いを 說いているのだ． わたしの 敎えを 捨ててはならない．
- わたしも 父にとっては 息子であり ／母のもとでは， いとけない 獨り 子であった．
- 父はわたしに 敎えて 言った． 「わたしの 言葉をお 前の 心に 保ち ／わたしの 戒めを 守って， 命を 得よ．
- わたしの 口が 言いきかせることを ／忘れるな， 離れ 去るな． 知惠を 獲得せよ， 分別を 獲得せよ．

- Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.
- Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
- Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.
- She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor."

- 知惠をふところに 抱け ／彼女はあなたを 高めてくれる． 分別を 抱きしめよ ／彼女はあなたに 名譽を 與えてくれる．
- あなたの 頭に 優雅な 冠を 戴かせ ／榮冠となってあなたを 飾る． 」
