- 作り 話や 切りのない 系圖に 心を 奪われたりしないようにと． このような 作り 話や 系圖は， 信仰による 神の 救いの 計畵の 實現よりも， むしろ 無意味な 詮索を 引き 起こします．
- わたしのこの 命令は， 淸い 心と 正しい 良心と 純眞な 信仰とから 生じる 愛を 目指すものです．

- Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk.
- They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.
- We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.
- We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
- for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers--and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

- ある 人¿はこれらのものからそれて， 無益な 議論の 中に 迷い ¿みました．
- 彼らは， 自分の 言っていることも 主張している 事柄についても 理解していないのに， 律法の 敎師でありたいと 思っています．
- しかし， わたしたちは， 律法は 正しく 用いるならば 良いものであることを 知っています．
- すなわち， 次のことを 知って 用いれば 良いものです． 律法は， 正しい 者のために 與えられているのではなく， 不法な 者や 不從順な 者， 不信心な 者や 罪を 犯す 者， 神を 畏れぬ 者や 俗惡な 者， 父を 殺す 者や 母を 殺す 者， 人を 殺す 者，
- みだらな 行いをする 者， 男色をする 者， 誘拐する 者， 僞りを 言う 者， 僞證する 者のために 與えられ， そのほか， 健全な 敎えに 反することがあれば， そのために 與えられているのです．

- わたしを 强くしてくださった， わたしたちの 主 キリスト · イエス に 感謝しています． この 方が， わたしを 忠實な 者と 見なして 務めに 就かせてくださったからです．
- 以前， わたしは 神を 冒瀆する 者， 迫害する 者， 暴力を 振るう 者でした． しかし， 信じていないとき 知らずに 行ったことなので， 憐れみを 受けました．
- そして， わたしたちの 主の 惠みが， キリスト · イエス による 信仰と 愛と 共に， あふれるほど 與えられました．
- 「キリスト · イエス は， 罪人を 救うために 世に 來られた 」という 言葉は 眞實であり， そのまま 受け 入れるに 値します． わたしは， その 罪人の 中で 最たる 者です．
