	에스겔 14:1-16:22 하나님께서는 우상을 섬기는 장로들을 책망하셨고, 어떤 의인도 예루살렘의 심판에서 백성들을 구원할 수 없다고 말씀하셨다. 또한 이스라엘 백성을 열매 맺지 못하는 포도나무와 음란한 여인에 비유하여 그들이 심판을 피할 수 없음을 지적하셨다.

	우상 숭배자의 죄(14:1-14:23)

Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.

Then the word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?

Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet, I the LORD will answer him myself in keeping with his great idolatry.

I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.'

イスラエルの長老數名がわたしのもとに來て，わたしの前に座った．

そのとき，主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ．

「人の子よ，この人¿は偶像を心に抱き，彼らをつまずかせる罪を目の前に置いている．それなのに，わたしは彼らの求めに應じられようか．

それゆえ，彼らと語り，彼らに告げなさい．主なる神はこう言われる．イスラエルの家の者で，偶像を心に抱き，つまずかせる罪を目の前に置いていながら，預言者のもとに來る者には，だれに對しても，主なるわたし自身が，彼の多くの偶像のゆえに答えよう．

それは，偶像のゆえにわたしから離れ去ったイスラエルの家の心をすべて，わたしが捕らえるためである．

"Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!

" 'When any Israelite or any alien living in Israel separates himself from me and sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet to inquire of me, I the LORD will answer him myself.

I will set my face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

" 'And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the LORD have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.

They will bear their guilt--the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.

それゆえ，あなたはイスラエルの家に言いなさい．主なる神はこう言われる．悔い改めて，お前たちの偶像から離れ，すべての忌まわしいものから顔を背けよ．

イスラエルの家の者と，イスラエルの中に寄留している外國人のうち，わたしから離れて偶像を心に抱き，つまずかせる罪を目の前に置いていながら，わたしに尋ねようと預言者のもとに來る者には，だれに對しても，主なるわたし自身が答えよう．

わたしはその者に向かって顔を向け，彼をしるしとし，ことわざとして，わが民の中から斷つ．そのときお前たちは，わたしが主であることを知るようになる．

もし，預言者が惑わされて言葉を語ることがあるなら，主なるわたし自身がその預言者を惑わしたのである．わたしは彼の上に手を伸べ，わが民イスラエルの中から絶ち滅ぼす．

彼らは共に自分の罪を負う．尋ねる者の罪は，預言者の罪と同じである．

Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its men and their animals,

even if these three men--Noah, Daniel and Job--were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign LORD.

"Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,

それは，イスラエルの家がもはやわたしから迷い出ず，あらゆる背きによって二度と自分を汚さないためである．こうして，彼らはわたしの民となり，わたしは彼らの神となる」と主なる神は言われる．

主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ．

「人の子よ，もし，ある國がわたしに對して不信を重ね，罪を犯すなら，わたしは手をその上に伸ばし，パンをつるして蓄える棒を折り，その地に飢鴨を送って，そこから人も家畜も絶ち滅ぼす．

たとえ，その中に，かの三人の人物，ノア，ダニエル，ヨブがいたとしても，彼らはその正しさによって自分自身の命を救いうるだけだ，と主なる神は言われる．

もし，わたしが惡い ¿をその國に橫行させ，それによって住む人がいなくなり， ¿を恐れて通る人がないために國が荒れ廢れるなら，

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.

"Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, 'Let the sword pass throughout the land,' and I kill its men and their animals,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.

"Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath upon it through bloodshed, killing its men and their animals,

as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.

その中に，かの三人の人物がいたとしても ――わたしは生きている，と主なる神は言われる ――彼らは自分の息子，娘たちすら救うことができない．彼らは自分自身を救いうるだけであり，その國は荒廢に歸するであろう．

また，もしわたしが劍をその國に送って，『劍よ，この國を行き巡れ』と言って，その國から人も家畜も絶ち滅ぼすなら，

たとえ，その中にかの三人の人物がいたとしても ――わたしは生きている，と主なる神は言われる ――彼らは自分の息子，娘たちすら救うことができない．彼らは自分自身を救いうるだけである．

また，もしわたしがその國に疫病を送り，わたしの怒りをその上に血と共に注ぎ，そこから人も家畜も絶ち滅ぼすなら，

たとえ，その中にノア，ダニエル，ヨブがいたとしても ――わたしは生きている，と主なる神は言われる ――彼らは自分の息子，娘たちすら救うことができない．彼らはその正しさによって，自分自身の命を救いうるだけである．

"For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments--sword and famine and wild beasts and plague--to kill its men and their animals!

Yet there will be some survivors--sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem--every disaster I have brought upon it.

You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign LORD."

まことに，主なる神はこう言われる．わたしがこの四つの嚴しい裁き，すなわち，劍，飢鴨，惡い ¿，疫病をエルサレムに送り，そこから人も家畜も絶ち滅ぼすとき，

そこに，わずかの者が殘されるであろう．息子，娘たちは逃れて救い出され，お前たちの所に出て來る．お前たちは彼らの步みと行いを見るとき，わたしがエルサレムにくだした災い，わたしがそこに臨ませたすべてのことについて慰められる．

お前たちは，彼らの步みと行いとを見て，それによって慰められ，わたしがそこで行ったすべてのことは，理由なく行ったのではないことを知るようになる」と主なる神は言われる．

	열매 없는 포도나무 비유(15:1-15:8)

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, how is the wood of a vine better than that of a branch on any of the trees in the forest?

Is wood ever taken from it to make anything useful? Do they make pegs from it to hang things on?

And after it is thrown on the fire as fuel and the fire burns both ends and chars the middle, is it then useful for anything?

If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred?

主なる神の言葉がわたしに臨んだ．

「人の子よ，ぶどうの木は森の木¿の中で，枝のあるどの木よりもすぐれているであろうか．

ぶどうの木から，何か役に立つものを作るための木材がとれるだろうか．それで，何かの器物を掛ける釘を作ることができるだろうか．

それが火に投げ ¿まれると，火はその兩端を燒き，眞ん中も焦がされてしまう．それでも何かの役に立つだろうか．

完全なときでさえ何も作れないのに，まして火に燒かれて焦げてしまったら，もはや何の役にも立たないではないか．

"Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: As I have given the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest as fuel for the fire, so will I treat the people living in Jerusalem.

I will set my face against them. Although they have come out of the fire, the fire will yet consume them. And when I set my face against them, you will know that I am the LORD.

I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful, declares the Sovereign LORD."

それゆえ，主なる神はこう言われる．わたしが薪として火に投げ ¿んだ，森の木の中のぶどうの木のように，わたしはエルサレムの住民を火に投げ入れる．

わたしは顔を彼らに向ける．彼らが火から逃れても，火は彼らを食い盡くす．わたしが顔を彼らに向けるとき，彼らはわたしが主なる神であることを知るようになる．

わたしはこの地を荒廢させる．彼らがわたしに不信を重ねたからである」と主なる神は言われる．

	유다에 대한 하나님의 사랑(16:1-16:22)

The word of the LORD came to me:

"Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her detestable practices

and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says to Jerusalem: Your ancestry and birth were in the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite.

On the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to make you clean, nor were you rubbed with salt or wrapped in cloths.

No one looked on you with pity or had compassion enough to do any of these things for you. Rather, you were thrown out into the open field, for on the day you were born you were despised.

主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ．

「人の子よ，エルサレムにその忌まわしいことを知らせなさい．

あなたは言わねばならない．主なる神は，エルサレムに對してこう言われる．お前の出身，お前の生まれはカナン人の地．父はアモリ人，母はヘト人である．

誕生について言えば，お前の生まれた日に，お前のへその緖を切ってくれる者も，水で洗い，油を塗ってくれる者も，鹽でこすり，布にくるんでくれる者もいなかった．

だれもお前に目をかけず，これらのことの一つでも行って，憐れみをかける者はいなかった．お前が生まれた日，お前は嫌われて野に捨てられた．

" 'Then I passed by and saw you kicking about in your blood, and as you lay there in your blood I said to you, "Live!"

I made you grow like a plant of the field. You grew up and developed and became the most beautiful of jewels. Your breasts were formed and your hair grew, you who were naked and bare.

" 'Later I passed by, and when I looked at you and saw that you were old enough for love, I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness. I gave you my solemn oath and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Sovereign LORD, and you became mine.

" 'I bathed you with water and washed the blood from you and put ointments on you.

I clothed you with an embroidered dress and put leather sandals on you. I dressed you in fine linen and covered you with costly garments.

しかし，わたしがお前の傍らを通って，お前が自分の血の中でもがいているのを見たとき，わたしは血まみれのお前に向かって，『生きよ』と言った．血まみれのお前に向かって，『生きよ』と言ったのだ．

わたしは，野の若草のようにお前を榮えさせた．それでお前は，健やかに育ち，成熟して美しくなり，胸の形も整い，髮も伸びた．だが，お前は裸のままであった．

その後，わたしがお前の傍らを通ってお前を見たときには，お前は愛される年ごろになっていた．そこでわたしは，衣の ¿を廣げてお前に掛け，裸を覆った．わたしはお前に誓いを立てて，契約を結び，お前は，わたしのものになった，と主なる神は言われる．

わたしはお前を水で洗い，血を洗い落とし，油を塗った．

そして，美しく織った服を着せ，上質の革靴を履かせ，亞麻布を頭にかぶらせ，絹の衣を掛けてやった．

I adorned you with jewelry: I put bracelets on your arms and a necklace around your neck,

and I put a ring on your nose, earrings on your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

So you were adorned with gold and silver; your clothes were of fine linen and costly fabric and embroidered cloth. Your food was fine flour, honey and olive oil. You became very beautiful and rose to be a queen.

And your fame spread among the nations on account of your beauty, because the splendor I had given you made your beauty perfect, declares the Sovereign LORD.

" 'But you trusted in your beauty and used your fame to become a prostitute. You lavished your favors on anyone who passed by and your beauty became his.

わたしはまた，裝身具をお前につけ，腕には腕輪，首には首飾りをつけた．

また，鼻に飾りの輪を，耳には耳輪を，頭には美しい冠をかぶらせた．

こうして，お前は金銀で身を飾り，亞麻布と絹とで美しく織った服を身に着けた．そして小麥粉と蜂蜜と油を食物とした．こうしてお前は非常に美しくなり，女王のようになった．

その美しさのゆえに，お前の名は國¿の間に廣まった．わたしがお前を裝わせた裝いには，少しも欠けるところがなかったからである，と主なる神は言われる．

それなのに，お前はその美しさを賴みとし，自分の名聲のゆえに姦淫を行った．お前は通りかかる者すべてにこびを賣り，身をまかせた．

You took some of your garments to make gaudy high places, where you carried on your prostitution. Such things should not happen, nor should they ever occur.

You also took the fine jewelry I gave you, the jewelry made of my gold and silver, and you made for yourself male idols and engaged in prostitution with them.

And you took your embroidered clothes to put on them, and you offered my oil and incense before them.

Also the food I provided for you--the fine flour, olive oil and honey I gave you to eat--you offered as fragrant incense before them. That is what happened, declares the Sovereign LORD.

" 'And you took your sons and daughters whom you bore to me and sacrificed them as food to the idols. Was your prostitution not enough?

また，自分の着物の中から選び出して，華やかな床をしつらえ，その上で姦淫を行った．このようなことは，かつてなかったし，これからもあってはならないことだ．

お前はまた，わたしが與えた金銀の美しい品¿を取って男の像を造り，それと姦淫を行った．

お前は美しく織った服をとってそれらの像に着せ，わたしの油と香をその前に供えた．

また，お前はわたしが與えた食物，お前を養ってきた小麥粉，油，蜜をその前に供えて，宥めの香りとした，と主なる神は言われる．

お前はまた，わたしのために産んだお前の息子，娘たちをとり，偶像の食物として供えた．お前の姦淫はまだ足りないのか．

You slaughtered my children and sacrificed them to the idols.

In all your detestable practices and your prostitution you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, kicking about in your blood.

お前はわたしの子供たちを殺し，火に燒いて偶像にささげた．

お前は，あらゆる忌まわしいことや姦淫を行っているあいだ，幼いときに裸で血の中をもがいていたことを思い起こさなかった．

	감계(鑑戒, 14:8) 본래 ‘징조, 징표’라는 뜻. 여기서는 ‘본보기’라는 의미

	적신(赤身, 16:7) 옷을 입지 않은 알몸
