요엘

  본서는 유다에 임한 가뭄과 메뚜기 재앙을 통해 야웨의 심판하실 날이 임박했음을 선언하고 있으며, 전 인류에게 임할 오순절 성령 강림 사건을 명확하게 예언하고 있다.

  요엘은 메뚜기 재앙이 백성들의 죄와 불순종에서 왔음을 밝히고, 이는 장차 올 야웨의 심판의 전조임을 밝히면서 ‘야웨의 날’의 임박함을 선포하고 회개를 촉구하고 있다. 그리고 하나님께서 회개한 자들에게 성령을 부어 주셔서 하나님의 구원과 복을 누리게 될 것을 예언함으로써 그들에게 희망을 주고 있다.

 

 

요엘 1:1-2:17

 요엘은 유다 전역을 휩쓴 메뚜기 재앙이 하나님의 징계임을 알리면서 이 재앙으로 인해 온 유다 백성들과 자연이 받은 피해 상황을 자세히 묘사하였다. 그는 ‘야웨의 날’의 심판이 크고 심히 두렵다는 것과 그날이 임박했음을 말하면서 유다 백성들에게 금식과 마음을 찢는 회개를 요청하였다.
  
  메뚜기 재앙(1:1-1:20)    
 
  1. The word of the LORD that came to Joel son of Pethuel.
  2. Hear this, you elders; listen, all who live in the land. Has anything like this ever happened in your days or in the days of your forefathers?
  3. Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation.
  4. What the locust swarm has left the great locusts have eaten; what the great locusts have left the young locusts have eaten; what the young locusts have left other locusts have eaten.
  5. Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine; wail because of the new wine, for it has been snatched from your lips.
  1. ペトエル の 子 ヨエル に 臨んだ 主の 言葉．
  2. 老人たちよ， これを 聞け． この 地に 住む 者よ， 皆耳を 傾けよ． あなたたちの 時代に， また， 先祖の 時代にも ／このようなことがあっただろうか．
  3. これをあなたたちの 子孫に 語り 傳えよ． 子孫はその 子孫に ／その 子孫は， また 後の 世代に．
  4. かみ 食らういなごの 殘したものを ／移住するいなごが 食らい ／移住するいなごの 殘したものを ／若いいなごが 食らい ／若いいなごの 殘したものを ／食い 荒らすいなごが 食らった．
  5. 醉いしれる 者よ， 目を 覺ませ， 泣け． 酒におぼれる 者よ， 皆泣き 叫べ． 泡立つ 酒はお 前たちの 口から 斷たれた．
  1. A nation has invaded my land, powerful and without number; it has the teeth of a lion, the fangs of a lioness.
  2. It has laid waste my vines and ruined my fig trees. It has stripped off their bark and thrown it away, leaving their branches white.
  3. Mourn like a virgin in sackcloth grieving for the husband of her youth.
  4. Grain offerings and drink offerings are cut off from the house of the LORD. The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the LORD.
  5. The fields are ruined, the ground is dried up ; the grain is destroyed, the new wine is dried up, the oil fails.
  1. 一つの 民がわたしの 國に 攻め 上って 來た． 强大で 數知れない 民が． その 齒は 雄獅子の 齒， 牙は 雌獅子の 牙．
  2. わたしのぶどうの 木を 荒らし ／わたしのいちじくの 木を 引き 裂き ／皮を 引きはがし， 枝を 白くして 投げ 捨てた．
  3. 泣き 悲しめ ／いいなずけに 死なれて ／粗布をまとうおとめのように．
  4. 獻げ 物の 穀物とぶどう 酒は 主の 宮から 斷たれ ／主に 仕える 祭司は 嘆く．
  5. 畑は 略奪され， 地は 嘆く． 穀物は 略奪され ／ぶどうの 實は 枯れ 盡くし ／ オリ ― ブ の 木は 衰えてしまった．
  1. Despair, you farmers, wail, you vine growers; grieve for the wheat and the barley, because the harvest of the field is destroyed.
  2. The vine is dried up and the fig tree is withered; the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree-- all the trees of the field--are dried up. Surely the joy of mankind is withered away.
  3. Put on sackcloth, O priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.
  4. Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.
  5. Alas for that day! For the day of the LORD is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.
  1. 農夫は 恥じ， ぶどう 作りは 泣き 叫ぶ． 小麥と 大麥， 畑の 實りは 失われた．
  2. ぶどうの 木は 枯れ 盡くし， いちじくの 木は 衰え ／ざくろも， なつめやしも， りんごも ／野の 木はすべて 實をつけることなく ／人¿の 樂しみは 枯れ 盡くした．
  3. 祭司よ， 粗布を 腰にまとって 嘆き 悲しめ． 祭壇に 仕える 者よ， 泣き 叫べ． 神に 仕える 者よ， 粗布をまとって 夜を 明かせ． 獻げ 物の 穀物とぶどう 酒は， もはや ／あなたたちの 神の 宮にもたらされることはない．
  4. 斷食を 布告し， 聖會を 召集し ／長老をはじめこの 國の 民をすべて ／あなたたちの 神， 主の 神殿に 集め ／主に 向かって 嘆きの 叫びをあげよ．
  5. ああ， 恐るべき 日よ ／主の 日が 近づく． 全能者による 破滅の 日が 來る．
  1. Has not the food been cut off before our very eyes-- joy and gladness from the house of our God?
  2. The seeds are shriveled beneath the clods. The storehouses are in ruins, the granaries have been broken down, for the grain has dried up.
  3. How the cattle moan! The herds mill about because they have no pasture; even the flocks of sheep are suffering.
  4. To you, O LORD, I call, for fire has devoured the open pastures and flames have burned up all the trees of the field.
  5. Even the wild animals pant for you; the streams of water have dried up and fire has devoured the open pastures.
  1. わたしたちの 目の 前から 食べ 物は 斷たれ ／わたしたちの 神の 宮からは ／喜びも 踊ることもなくなったではないか．
  2. 種は 乾いた 土の 下に 干からび ／穀物は 枯れ 盡くし ／倉は 荒れ， 穀物倉は 破壞された．
  3. なんという 呻きを 家畜はすることか． 牛の 群れがさまよい ／羊の 群れが 苦しむのは ／もはや， 牧草がどこにもないからだ．
  4. 主よ， わたしはあなたを 呼びます． 火が 荒れ 野の 草地を 燒き 盡くし ／炎が 野の 木をなめ 盡くしたからです．
  5. 野の ¿もあなたを 求めます． 流れの 水は ¿れ ／火が 荒れ 野の 草地を 燒き 盡くしたからです．
 
  야웨의 날(2:1-2:17)    
 
  1. Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming. It is close at hand-
  2. a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come.
  3. Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste-- nothing escapes them.
  4. They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry.
  5. With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle.
  1. シオン で 角笛を 吹き ／わが 聖なる 山で 勘の 聲をあげよ． この 國に 住む 者は 皆， おののけ． 主の 日が 來る， 主の 日が 近づく．
  2. それは 闇と 暗黑の 日， 雲と 濃霧の 日である． 强大で 數多い 民が ／山¿に 廣がる 曙の 光のように 襲ってくる． このようなことは， かつて 起こったことがなく ／これから 後も， 代¿再び 起こることはない．
  3. 彼らの 行く 手を， 火が 燒き 盡くし ／彼らの 後ろには 燃える 炎が 續く． 彼らの 來る 前， この 國は エデン の 園のようであった． 彼らの 去った 後には， 滅びの 荒れ 野が 殘る． 何ものもこれを 逃れえない．
  4. その 姿は 馬のようで ／軍馬のように 驅ける．
  5. 戰車のような 響きをたてて 山の 頂を 驅け 巡り ／わらを 燒く 炎のような 音をたてる． これは 戰いの 備えをした 强大な 民の 姿だ．
  1. At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale.
  2. They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers. They all march in line, not swerving from their course.
  3. They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks.
  4. They rush upon the city; they run along the wall. They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows.
  5. Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine.
  1. その 前に， 諸國の 民はもだえ ／どの 顔も 色を 失う．
  2. 彼らは 勇士のように 走り ／戰士のように 城壁をよじ 登る． おのおの 自分の 道を 進み ／進路を 外れることはない．
  3. 互いに 押し 合うことなく ／自分の 前に 敷かれた 大路を 進む． たとえ 投げ 槍の 間に 突進しても ／ひるむことはない．
  4. 町の 中を 驅け 巡り ／城壁の 上を 走り ／家¿によじ 登り ／盜人のように 窓から 入り ¿む．
  5. その 前に， 地はおののき， 天は 震える． 太陽も 月も 暗くなり， 星も 光を 失う．
  1. The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the LORD is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?
  2. "Even now," declares the LORD, "return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning."
  3. Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
  4. Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing-- grain offerings and drink offerings for the LORD your God.
  5. Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly.
  1. 主はその 軍勢の 前で 聲をとどろかされる． その 陣營は 甚だ 大きく ／御言葉を 實現される 方は 力强い． 主の 日は 大いなる 日で， 甚だ 恐ろしい． 誰がその 日に 耐ええよう．
  2. 主は 言われる． 「今こそ， 心からわたしに 立ち 歸れ ／斷食し， 泣き 悲しんで．
  3. 衣を 裂くのではなく ／お 前たちの 心を 引き 裂け． 」あなたたちの 神， 主に 立ち 歸れ． 主は 惠みに 滿ち， 憐れみ 深く ／忍耐强く， 慈しみに 富み ／くだした 災いを 悔いられるからだ．
  4. あるいは， 主が 思い 直され ／その 後に 祝福を 殘し ／あなたたちの 神， 主にささげる 穀物とぶどう 酒を ／殘してくださるかもしれない．
  5. シオン で 角笛を 吹き ／斷食を 布告し， 聖會を 召集せよ．
  1. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.
  2. Let the priests, who minister before the LORD, weep between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say, "Spare your people, O LORD. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, 'Where is their God?' "
  1. 民を 呼び 集め， 會衆を 聖別し ／長老を 集合させよ． 幼子， 乳飮み 子を 呼び 集め ／花¿を 控えの 間から ／花嫁を 祝いの 部屋から 呼び 出せ．
  2. 祭司は 神殿の 入り 口と 祭壇の 間で 泣き ／主に 仕える 者は 言うがよい． 「主よ， あなたの 民を 憐れんでください． あなたの 嗣業である 民を 恥に 落とさず ／國¿の 嘲りの 種としないでください． 『彼らの 神はどこにいるのか 』と ／なぜ 諸國の 民に 言わせておかれるのですか． 」
