- Open your doors, O Lebanon, so that fire may devour your cedars!
- Wail, O pine tree, for the cedar has fallen; the stately trees are ruined! Wail, oaks of Bashan; the dense forest has been cut down!
- Listen to the wail of the shepherds; their rich pastures are destroyed! Listen to the roar of the lions; the lush thicket of the Jordan is ruined!
- This is what the LORD my God says: "Pasture the flock marked for slaughter.
- Their buyers slaughter them and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, 'Praise the LORD, I am rich!' Their own shepherds do not spare them.

- レバノン よ， お 前の 門を 開け． 火にお 前の 杉を 燒き 盡くさせよう．
- 絲杉よ， 泣き 叫べ． 杉は 倒れ， 見事な 大木も 荒れ 果てた． バシャン の ¿の 木よ， 泣き 叫べ． 人を 寄せつけなかった 森も 倒された．
- 羊飼いたちの 泣き 叫ぶ 聲がする． 彼らの 見事な 牧場は 荒れ 果てた． 若い 獅子のほえる 聲がする． ヨルダン の 密林も 荒れ 果てた．
- わが 神なる 主はこう 言われた． 屠るための 羊を 飼え．
- それを 買い 取る 者は， 罪を 歸せられずにそれを 屠り， 賣るときは， 「主はほめたたえられよ． わたしは 金持ちになった 」と 言うが， 羊飼いたちはそれを 憐れまない．

- For I will no longer have pity on the people of the land," declares the LORD. "I will hand everyone over to his neighbor and his king. They will oppress the land, and I will not rescue them from their hands."
- So I pastured the flock marked for slaughter, particularly the oppressed of the flock. Then I took two staffs and called one Favor and the other Union, and I pastured the flock.
- In one month I got rid of the three shepherds. The flock detested me, and I grew weary of them
- and said, "I will not be your shepherd. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish. Let those who are left eat one another's flesh."
- Then I took my staff called Favor and broke it, revoking the covenant I had made with all the nations.

- わたしはこの 地の 住民を 再び 憐れみはしない， と 主は 言われる． 見よ， わたしはどの 人もその 隣人の 手とその 王の 手に 任せる． 彼らがこの 地を 打とうとしても， わたしは 彼らの 手から 救いはしない．
- わたしは 屠るための 羊を， 羊の 商人のために 飼った． わたしは 二本の 杖を 手にして， ひとつを「好意 」と 名付け， もうひとつを「一致 」と 名付けて 羊を 飼った．
- わたしは 一月のうちに 三人の 羊飼いを 退けた． わたしは 彼らに 我慢できなくなり， 彼らもわたしを 嫌った．
- そして， わたしは 言った． 「わたしはお 前たちを 飼わない． 死ぬべき 者は 死ね． 消え 去るべき 者は 消え 去れ． 殘った 者は 互いに 肉を 食い 合うがよい． 」
- わたしは「好意 」というわたしの 杖を 取って 折り， 諸國の 民すべてと 結んだわが 契約を 無效にした．

- It was revoked on that day, and so the afflicted of the flock who were watching me knew it was the word of the LORD.
- I told them, "If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it." So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.
- And the LORD said to me, "Throw it to the potter"-the handsome price at which they priced me! So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the LORD to the potter.
- Then I broke my second staff called Union, breaking the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.
- Then the LORD said to me, "Take again the equipment of a foolish shepherd.

- 主は 更にわたしに 言われた． 「愚かな 羊飼いの 道具を 取れ．

- For I am going to raise up a shepherd over the land who will not care for the lost, or seek the young, or heal the injured, or feed the healthy, but will eat the meat of the choice sheep, tearing off their hoofs.
- "Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! May his arm be completely withered, his right eye totally blinded!"

- 見よ， わたしはこの 地に 羊飼いを 起こす． 彼は 見失われたものを 尋ねず， 若いものを 追い 求めず， 傷ついたものをいやさず， 立っているものを 支えもせず， 肥えたものの 肉を 食べ， そのひづめを ¿く．
- 災いだ， 羊を 見捨てる 無用の 羊飼いたちは． 劍が， その 腕と 右の 目に 差し 向けられる． その 腕は 力を 失い， 右の 目はかすむ． 」
