하박국

  하박국이 활동하던 시기는 유다 왕국이 위기에 처해 있을 때였다. 당시 유다는 국외적으로는 강대국 바벨론 침략 위협을 받고 있었으며, 국내적으로는 종교적, 도적적 타락으로 절망적인 상태에 있었다. 이러한 때에 하박국은 유다에 남은 경건한 사람들을 위로하고 ‘의인은 오직 믿음으로 산다.’고 외쳤다. 이는 기독교 구원론의 근간을 마련한 것이기도 하다.

  본서는 하나님과 하박국 선지자가 나눈 개인적인 대화와 예언적 계시에 초첨을 맞추고 있다. 본서에는 하나님의 주권의 확실성이 표현되어 있으며, 의인을 향한 하나님의 사랑과 악한 바벨론을 멸하시려는 하나님의 의도가 잘 나타나 있다.

 

 

하박국 1:1-3:19

 죄악이 관영한 남유다를 공의의 하나님께서 왜 징계치 않으시는가를 질문한 하박국에게 갈대아를 심판의 도구로 삼아 그들을 심판하시겠다는 하나님의 응답이 주어졌다. 이어 하박국이 왜 유다보다 더 패역한 이방을 사용하여 유다를 심판하시는지를 다시 묻자, 하나님께서는 유다의 심판 도구인 바벨론도 결국에는 심판과 멸망을 당하리라고 말씀하셨다. 이에 하박국은 하나님의 구원을 찬양했다.
  
  공의의 하나님(1:1-3:19)    
 
  1. The oracle that Habakkuk the prophet received.
  2. How long, O LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, "Violence!" but you do not save?
  3. Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrong? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds.
  4. Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.
  5. "Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.
  1. 선지자 하박국이 묵시로 받은 경고라
  2. 여호와여 내가 부르짖어도 주께서 듣지 아니하시니 어느 때까지리이까 내가 강포로 말미암아 외쳐도 주께서 구원하지 아니하시나이다
  3. 어찌하여 내게 죄악을 보게 하시며 패역을 눈으로 보게 하시나이까 겁탈과 강포가 내 앞에 있고 변론과 분쟁이 일어났나이다
  4. 이러므로 율법이 해이하고 정의가 전혀 시행되지 못하오니 이는 악인이 의인을 에워쌌으므로 정의가 굽게 행하여짐이니이다
  5. 여호와께서 이르시되 너희는 여러 나라를 보고 또 보고 놀라고 또 놀랄지어다 너희의 생전에 내가 한 가지 일을 행할 것이라 누가 너희에게 말할지라도 너희가 믿지 아니하리라
  1. I am raising up the Babylonians, that ruthless and impetuous people, who sweep across the whole earth to seize dwelling places not their own.
  2. They are a feared and dreaded people; they are a law to themselves and promote their own honor.
  3. Their horses are swifter than leopards, fiercer than wolves at dusk. Their cavalry gallops headlong; their horsemen come from afar. They fly like a vulture swooping to devour;
  4. they all come bent on violence. Their hordes advance like a desert wind and gather prisoners like sand.
  5. They deride kings and scoff at rulers. They laugh at all fortified cities; they build earthen ramps and capture them.
  1. 보라 내가 사납고 성급한 백성 곧 땅이 넓은 곳으로 다니며 자기의 소유가 아닌 거처들을 점령하는 갈대아 사람을 일으켰나니
  2. 그들은 두렵고 무서우며 당당함과 위엄이 자기들에게서 나오며
  3. 그들의 군마는 표범보다 빠르고 저녁 이리보다 사나우며 그들의 마병은 먼 곳에서부터 빨리 달려오는 마병이라 마치 먹이를 움키려 하는 독수리의 날음과 같으니라
  4. 그들은 다 강포를 행하러 오는데 앞을 향하여 나아가며 사람을 사로잡아 모으기를 모래 같이 많이 할 것이요
  5. 왕들을 멸시하며 방백을 조소하며 모든 견고한 성들을 비웃고 흉벽을 쌓아 그것을 점령할 것이라
  1. Then they sweep past like the wind and go on-- guilty men, whose own strength is their god."
  2. O LORD, are you not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, we will not die. O LORD, you have appointed them to execute judgment; O Rock, you have ordained them to punish.
  3. Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
  4. You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.
  5. The wicked foe pulls all of them up with hooks, he catches them in his net, he gathers them up in his dragnet; and so he rejoices and is glad.
  1. 그들은 자기들의 힘을 자기들의 신으로 삼는 자들이라 이에 바람 같이 급히 몰아 지나치게 행하여 범죄하리라
  2. 선지자가 이르되 여호와 나의 하나님, 나의 거룩한 이시여 주께서는 만세 전부터 계시지 아니하시니이까 우리가 사망에 이르지 아니하리이다 여호와여 주께서 심판하기 위하여 그들을 두셨나이다 반석이시여 주께서 경계하기 위하여 그들을 세우셨나이다
  3. 주께서는 눈이 정결하시므로 악을 차마 보지 못하시며 패역을 차마 보지 못하시거늘 어찌하여 거짓된 자들을 방관하시며 악인이 자기보다 의로운 사람을 삼키는데도 잠잠하시나이까
  4. 주께서 어찌하여 사람을 바다의 고기 같게 하시며 다스리는 자 없는 벌레 같게 하시나이까
  5. 그가 낚시로 모두 낚으며 그물로 잡으며 투망으로 모으고 그리고는 기뻐하고 즐거워하여
  1. Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his dragnet, for by his net he lives in luxury and enjoys the choicest food.
  2. Is he to keep on emptying his net, destroying nations without mercy?
  1. 그물에 제사하며 투망 앞에 분향하오니 이는 그것을 힘입어 소득이 풍부하고 먹을 것이 풍성하게 됨이니이다
  2. 그가 그물을 떨고는 계속하여 여러 나라를 무자비하게 멸망시키는 것이 옳으니이까
 
 
  1. I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint.
  2. Then the LORD replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
  3. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
  4. "See, he is puffed up; his desires are not upright-- but the righteous will live by his faith -
  5. indeed, wine betrays him; he is arrogant and never at rest. Because he is as greedy as the grave and like death is never satisfied, he gathers to himself all the nations and takes captive all the peoples.
  1. 내가 내 파수하는 곳에 서며 성루에 서리라 그가 내게 무엇이라 말씀하실는지 기다리고 바라보며 나의 질문에 대하여 어떻게 대답하실는지 보리라 하였더니
  2. 여호와께서 내게 대답하여 이르시되 너는 이 묵시를 기록하여 판에 명백히 새기되 달려가면서도 읽을 수 있게 하라
  3. 이 묵시는 정한 때가 있나니 그 종말이 속히 이르겠고 결코 거짓되지 아니하리라 비록 더딜지라도 기다리라 지체되지 않고 반드시 응하리라
  4. 보라 그의 마음은 교만하며 그 속에서 정직하지 못하나 의인은 그의 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라
  5. 그는 술을 즐기며 거짓되고 교만하여 가만히 있지 아니하고 스올처럼 자기의 욕심을 넓히며 또 그는 사망 같아서 족한 줄을 모르고 자기에게로 여러 나라를 모으며 여러 백성을 모으나니
  1. "Will not all of them taunt him with ridicule and scorn, saying, " 'Woe to him who piles up stolen goods and makes himself wealthy by extortion! How long must this go on?'
  2. Will not your debtors suddenly arise? Will they not wake up and make you tremble? Then you will become their victim.
  3. Because you have plundered many nations, the peoples who are left will plunder you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  4. "Woe to him who builds his realm by unjust gain to set his nest on high, to escape the clutches of ruin!
  5. You have plotted the ruin of many peoples, shaming your own house and forfeiting your life.
  1. 그 무리가 다 속담으로 그를 평론하며 조롱하는 시로 그를 풍자하지 않겠느냐 곧 이르기를 화 있을진저 자기 소유 아닌 것을 모으는 자여 언제까지 이르겠느냐 볼모 잡은 것으로 무겁게 짐진 자여
  2. 너를 억누를 자들이 갑자기 일어나지 않겠느냐 너를 괴롭힐 자들이 깨어나지 않겠느냐 네가 그들에게 노략을 당하지 않겠느냐
  3. 네가 여러 나라를 노략하였으므로 그 모든 민족의 남은 자가 너를 노략하리니 이는 네가 사람의 피를 흘렸음이요 또 땅과 성읍과 그 안의 모든 주민에게 강포를 행하였음이니라
  4. 재앙을 피하기 위하여 높은 데 깃들이려 하며 자기 집을 위하여 부당한 이익을 취하는 자에게 화 있을진저
  5. 네가 많은 민족을 멸한 것이 네 집에 욕을 부르며 네 영혼에게 죄를 범하게 하는 것이 되었도다
  1. The stones of the wall will cry out, and the beams of the woodwork will echo it.
  2. "Woe to him who builds a city with bloodshed and establishes a town by crime!
  3. Has not the LORD Almighty determined that the people's labor is only fuel for the fire, that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
  4. For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
  5. "Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbors, pouring it from the wineskin till they are drunk, so that he can gaze on their naked bodies.
  1. 담에서 돌이 부르짖고 집에서 들보가 응답하리라
  2. 피로 성읍을 건설하며 불의로 성을 건축하는 자에게 화 있을진저
  3. 민족들이 불탈 것으로 수고하는 것과 나라들이 헛된 일로 피곤하게 되는 것이 만군의 여호와께로 말미암음이 아니냐
  4. 이는 물이 바다를 덮음 같이 여호와의 영광을 인정하는 것이 세상에 가득함이니라
  5. 이웃에게 술을 마시게 하되 자기의 분노를 더하여 그에게 취하게 하고 그 하체를 드러내려 하는 자에게 화 있을진저
  1. You will be filled with shame instead of glory. Now it is your turn! Drink and be exposed ! The cup from the LORD's right hand is coming around to you, and disgrace will cover your glory.
  2. The violence you have done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and your destruction of animals will terrify you. For you have shed man's blood; you have destroyed lands and cities and everyone in them.
  3. "Of what value is an idol, since a man has carved it? Or an image that teaches lies? For he who makes it trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak.
  4. Woe to him who says to wood, 'Come to life!' Or to lifeless stone, 'Wake up!' Can it give guidance? It is covered with gold and silver; there is no breath in it.
  5. But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him."
  1. 네게 영광이 아니요 수치가 가득한즉 너도 마시고 너의 할례 받지 아니한 것을 드러내라 여호와의 오른손의 잔이 네게로 돌아올 것이라 더러운 욕이 네 영광을 가리리라
  2. 이는 네가 레바논에 강포를 행한 것과 짐승을 죽인 것 곧 사람의 피를 흘리며 땅과 성읍과 그 안의 모든 주민에게 강포를 행한 것이 네게로 돌아오리라
  3. 새긴 우상은 그 새겨 만든 자에게 무엇이 유익하겠느냐 부어 만든 우상은 거짓 스승이라 만든 자가 이 말하지 못하는 우상을 의지하니 무엇이 유익하겠느냐
  4. 나무에게 깨라 하며 말하지 못하는 돌에게 일어나라 하는 자에게 화 있을진저 그것이 교훈을 베풀겠느냐 보라 이는 금과 은으로 입힌 것인즉 그 속에는 생기가 도무지 없느니라
  5. 오직 여호와는 그 성전에 계시니 온 땅은 그 앞에서 잠잠할지니라 하시니라

  2. LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
  3. God came from Teman, the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth.
  4. His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.
  5. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps.
  1. 시기오놋에 맞춘 선지자 하박국의 기도라
  2. 여호와여 내가 주께 대한 소문을 듣고 놀랐나이다 여호와여 주는 주의 일을 이 수년 내에 부흥하게 하옵소서 이 수년 내에 나타내시옵소서 진노 중에라도 긍휼을 잊지 마옵소서
  3. 하나님이 데만에서부터 오시며 거룩한 자가 바란 산에서부터 오시는도다 （셀라） 그의 영광이 하늘을 덮었고 그의 찬송이 세계에 가득하도다
  4. 그의 광명이 햇빛 같고 광선이 그의 손에서 나오니 그의 권능이 그 속에 감추어졌도다
  5. 역병이 그 앞에서 행하며 불덩이가 그의 발 밑에서 나오는도다
  1. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble. The ancient mountains crumbled and the age-old hills collapsed. His ways are eternal.
  2. I saw the tents of Cushan in distress, the dwellings of Midian in anguish.
  3. Were you angry with the rivers, O LORD ? Was your wrath against the streams? Did you rage against the sea when you rode with your horses and your victorious chariots?
  4. You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows. Selah You split the earth with rivers;
  5. the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted its waves on high.
  1. 그가 서신즉 땅이 진동하며 그가 보신즉 여러 나라가 전율하며 영원한 산이 무너지며 무궁한 작은 산이 엎드러지나니 그의 행하심이 예로부터 그러하시도다
  2. 내가 본즉 구산의 장막이 환난을 당하고 미디안 땅의 휘장이 흔들리는도다
  3. 여호와여 주께서 말을 타시며 구원의 병거를 모시오니 강들을 분히 여기심이니이까 강들을 노여워하심이니이까 바다를 향하여 성내심이니이까
  4. 주께서 활을 꺼내시고 화살을 바로 쏘셨나이다 （셀라） 주께서 강들로 땅을 쪼개셨나이다
  5. 산들이 주를 보고 흔들리며 창수가 넘치고 바다가 소리를 지르며 손을 높이 들었나이다
  1. Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear.
  2. In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations.
  3. You came out to deliver your people, to save your anointed one. You crushed the leader of the land of wickedness, you stripped him from head to foot. Selah
  4. With his own spear you pierced his head when his warriors stormed out to scatter us, gloating as though about to devour the wretched who were in hiding.
  5. You trampled the sea with your horses, churning the great waters.
  1. 날아가는 주의 화살의 빛과 번쩍이는 주의 창의 광채로 말미암아 해와 달이 그 처소에 멈추었나이다
  2. 주께서 노를 발하사 땅을 두르셨으며 분을 내사 여러 나라를 밟으셨나이다
  3. 주께서 주의 백성을 구원하시려고, 기름 부음 받은 자를 구원하시려고 나오사 악인의 집의 머리를 치시며 그 기초를 바닥까지 드러내셨나이다 （셀라）
  4. 그들이 회오리바람처럼 이르러 나를 흩으려 하며 가만히 가난한 자 삼키기를 즐거워하나 오직 주께서 그들의 전사의 머리를 그들의 창으로 찌르셨나이다
  5. 주께서 말을 타시고 바다 곧 큰 물의 파도를 밟으셨나이다
  1. I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us.
  2. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,
  3. yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
  4. The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.
  1. 내가 들었으므로 내 창자가 흔들렸고 그 목소리로 말미암아 내 입술이 떨렸도다 무리가 우리를 치러 올라오는 환난 날을 내가 기다리므로 썩이는 것이 내 뼈에 들어왔으며 내 몸은 내 처소에서 떨리는도다
  2. 비록 무화과나무가 무성하지 못하며 포도나무에 열매가 없으며 감람나무에 소출이 없으며 밭에 먹을 것이 없으며 우리에 양이 없으며 외양간에 소가 없을지라도
  3. 나는 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하며 나의 구원의 하나님으로 말미암아 기뻐하리로다
  4. 주 여호와는 나의 힘이시라 나의 발을 사슴과 같게 하사 나를 나의 높은 곳으로 다니게 하시리로다 이 노래는 지휘하는 사람을 위하여 내 수금에 맞춘 것이니라
 
  위령(威令, 1:7)  원어의 뜻은 권위 또는 위엄인데, 여기서는 권위 있는 명령을 의미함
