여호수아 21:27-22:34

 게르손과 므라리 자손이 얻은 성읍들이 기록되어 있다. 정복 전쟁이 그치고 영토 분배가 종료되자 여호수아는 요단 동편 지파들에게 귀향을 명령했다. 자기의 기업으로 돌아가던 르우벤, 갓, 므낫세 반 지파의 사람들이 요단 강변에 큰 단을 쌓았다. 우상 숭배를 위해 단을 세운 것으로 오해한 이스라엘 백성들은 크게 분노했지만 그들의 해명을 듣고 오해를 풀었다.
  
  게르손·므라리의 성읍(21:27-21:45)    
 
  1. 레위 가족의 게르손 자손들에게는 므낫세 반 지파 중에서 살인자의 도피성 바산 골란과 그 들을 주었고 또 브에스드라와 그 들을 주었으니 두 성읍이요
  2. 잇사갈 지파 중에서는 기시온과 그 들과 다브랏과 그 들과
  3. 야르뭇과 그 들과 언 간님과 그 들을 주었으니 네 성읍이요
  4. 아셀 지파 중에서는 미살과 그 들과 압돈과 그 들과
  5. 헬갓과 그 들과 르홉과 그 들을 주었으니 네 성읍이요
  1. The Levite clans of the Gershonites were given: from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan (a city of refuge for one accused of murder) and Be Eshtarah, together with their pasturelands--two towns;
  2. from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion, Daberath,
  3. Jarmuth and En Gannim, together with their pasturelands--four towns;
  4. from the tribe of Asher, Mishal, Abdon,
  5. Helkath and Rehob, together with their pasturelands--four towns;
  1. 납달리 지파 중에서는 살인자의 도피성 갈릴리 게데스와 그 들을 주었고 또 함못 돌과 그 들과 가르단과 그 들을 주었으니 세 성읍이라
  2. 게르손 사람이 그 가족대로 얻은 성읍이 모두 열 세 성읍과 그 들이었더라
  3. 그 남은 레위 사람 므라리 자손의 가족들에게 준 것은 스불론 지파 중에서 욕느암과 그 들과 가르다와 그 들과
  4. 딤나와 그 들과 나할랄과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요
  5. 르우벤 지파 중에서 준 것은 베셀과 그 들과 야하스와 그 들과
  1. from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee (a city of refuge for one accused of murder), Hammoth Dor and Kartan, together with their pasturelands--three towns.
  2. All the towns of the Gershonite clans were thirteen, together with their pasturelands.
  3. The Merarite clans (the rest of the Levites) were given: from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam, Kartah,
  4. Dimnah and Nahalal, together with their pasturelands--four towns;
  5. from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer, Jahaz,
  1. 그데못과 그 들과 므바앗과 그 들이니 네 성읍이요
  2. 갓 지파 중에서 준 것은 살인자의 도피성 길르앗 라못과 그 들이요 또 마하나임과 그 들과
  3. 헤스본과 그 들과 야셀과 그 들이니 모두 네 성읍이라
  4. 이는 레위 가족의 남은 자 곧 므라리 자손이 그 가족대로 얻은 성읍이니 그 제비 뽑아 얻은 성읍이 십 이 성읍이었더라
  5. 레위 사람의 이스라엘 자손의 기업 중에서 얻은 성읍이 모두 사십 팔 성읍이요 또 그 들이라
  1. Kedemoth and Mephaath, together with their pasturelands--four towns;
  2. from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead (a city of refuge for one accused of murder), Mahanaim,
  3. Heshbon and Jazer, together with their pasturelands--four towns in all.
  4. All the towns allotted to the Merarite clans, who were the rest of the Levites, were twelve.
  5. The towns of the Levites in the territory held by the Israelites were forty-eight in all, together with their pasturelands.
  1. 이 각 성읍의 사면에 들이 있었고 모든 성읍이 다 그러하였더라
  2. 여호와께서 이스라엘의 열조에게 맹세하사 주마 하신 온 땅을 이와 같이 이스라엘에게 다 주셨으므로 그들이 그것을 얻어 거기 거하였으며
  3. 여호와께서 그들의 사방에 안식을 주셨으되 그 열조에게 맹세하신대로 하셨으므로 그 모든 대적이 그들을 당한 자가 하나도 없었으니 이는 여호와께서 그들의 모든 대적을 그들의 손에 붙이셨음이라
  4. 여호와께서 이스라엘 족속에게 말씀하신 선한 일이 하나도 남음이 없이 다 응하였더라
  1. Each of these towns had pasturelands surrounding it; this was true for all these towns.
  2. So the LORD gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their forefathers, and they took possession of it and settled there.
  3. The LORD gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their forefathers. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the LORD handed all their enemies over to them.
  4. Not one of all the LORD's good promises to the house of Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.
 
  요단 동편 지파의 귀향(22:1-22:34)    
 
  1. 그 때에 여호수아가 르우벤 사람과 갓 사람과 므낫세 반 지파를 불러서
  2. 그들에게 이르되 여호와의 종 모세가 너희에게 명한 것을 너희가 다 지키며 또 내가 너희에게 명한 모든 일에 내 말을 너희가 청종하여
  3. 오늘날까지 날이 오래도록 너희가 너희 형제를 떠나지 아니하고 오직 너희 하나님 여호와의 명하신 그 책임을 지키도다
  4. 이제는 너희 하나님 여호와께서 이미 말씀하신대로 너희 형제에게 안식을 주셨으니 그런즉 이제 너희는 여호와의 종 모세가 요단 저편에서 너희에게 준 소유지로 가서 너희의 장막으로 돌아가되
  5. 크게 삼가 여호와의 종 모세가 너희에게 명한 명령과 율법을 행하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 사랑하고 그 모든 길로 행하며 그 계명을 지켜 그에게 친근히 하고 너희의 마음을 다하며 성품을 다하여 그를 섬길찌니라 하고
  1. Then Joshua summoned the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh
  2. and said to them, "You have done all that Moses the servant of the LORD commanded, and you have obeyed me in everything I commanded.
  3. For a long time now--to this very day--you have not deserted your brothers but have carried out the mission the LORD your God gave you.
  4. Now that the LORD your God has given your brothers rest as he promised, return to your homes in the land that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side of the Jordan.
  5. But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul."
  1. 여호수아가 그들에게 축복하여 보내매 그들이 자기 장막으로 갔더라
  2. 므낫세 반 지파에게는 모세가 바산에서 기업을 주었고 기타 반 지파에게는 여호수아가 요단 이편 서편에서 그 형제 중에서 기업을 준지라 여호수아가 그들을 그 장막으로 돌려보낼 때에 그들에게 축복하고
  3. 일러 가로되 너희는 많은 재산과 심히 많은 가축과 은, 금, 동, 철과 심히 많은 의복을 가지고 너희의 장막으로 돌아가서 너희의 대적에게서 탈취한 것을 너희의 형제와 나눌찌니라 하매
  4. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 가나안 땅 실로에서 이스라엘 자손을 떠나 여호와께서 모세로 명하신대로 얻은 땅 곧 그 소유지 길르앗으로 가니라
  5. 르우벤 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 가나안 땅 요단 언덕 가에 이르자 거기서 요단 가에 단을 쌓았는데 볼만한 큰 단이었더라
  1. Then Joshua blessed them and sent them away, and they went to their homes.
  2. (To the half-tribe of Manasseh Moses had given land in Bashan, and to the other half of the tribe Joshua gave land on the west side of the Jordan with their brothers.) When Joshua sent them home, he blessed them,
  3. saying, "Return to your homes with your great wealth--with large herds of livestock, with silver, gold, bronze and iron, and a great quantity of clothing--and divide with your brothers the plunder from your enemies."
  4. So the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh left the Israelites at Shiloh in Canaan to return to Gilead, their own land, which they had acquired in accordance with the command of the LORD through Moses.
  5. When they came to Geliloth near the Jordan in the land of Canaan, the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh built an imposing altar there by the Jordan.
  1. 이스라엘 자손이 들은즉 이르기를 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반지파가 가나안 땅의 맨 앞편 요단 언덕 가 이스라엘 자손에게 속한 편에 단을 쌓았다 하는지라
  2. 이스라엘 자손이 이를 듣자 곧 이스라엘 자손의 온 회중이 실로에 모여서 그들과 싸우러 가려하니라
  3. 이스라엘 자손이 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스를 길르앗 땅으로 보내어 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파를 보게 하되
  4. 이스라엘 각 지파에서 한 방백씩 열 방백을 그와 함께 하게 하니 그들은 각기 이스라엘 천만인 중 족속의 두령이라
  5. 그들이 길르앗 땅에 이르러 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파에게 나아가서 그들에게 말하여 가로되
  1. And when the Israelites heard that they had built the altar on the border of Canaan at Geliloth near the Jordan on the Israelite side,
  2. the whole assembly of Israel gathered at Shiloh to go to war against them.
  3. So the Israelites sent Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, to the land of Gilead--to Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh.
  4. With him they sent ten of the chief men, one for each of the tribes of Israel, each the head of a family division among the Israelite clans.
  5. When they went to Gilead--to Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh--they said to them:
  1. 여호와의 온 회중이 말하기를 너희가 어찌하여 이스라엘 하나님께 범죄하여 오늘날 여호와를 좇는데서 떠나서 자기를 위하여 단을 쌓아 여호와를 거역하고자 하느냐
  2. 브올의 죄악으로 인하여 여호와의 회중에 재앙이 내렸으나 오늘날까지 우리가 그 죄에서 정결함을 얻지 못하였거늘 그 죄악이 우리에게 부족하여서
  3. 오늘날 너희가 돌이켜 여호와를 좇지 않고자 하느냐 너희가 오늘날 여호와를 배역하면 내일은 그가 이스라엘 온 회중에게 진노하시리라
  4. 그런데 너희 소유지가 만일 깨끗지 아니하거든 여호와의 성막이 있는 여호와의 소유지로 건너와 우리 중에서 소유를 취할 것이니라 오직 우리 하나님 여호와의 단 외에 다른 단을 쌓음으로 여호와께 패역하지 말며 우리에게도 패역하지 말라
  5. 세라의 아들 아간이 바친 물건에 대하여 범죄하므로 이스라엘 온 회중에 진노가 임하지 아니하였었느냐 그 죄악으로 망한 자가 그 사람 뿐이 아니었느니라
  1. "The whole assembly of the LORD says: 'How could you break faith with the God of Israel like this? How could you turn away from the LORD and build yourselves an altar in rebellion against him now?
  2. Was not the sin of Peor enough for us? Up to this very day we have not cleansed ourselves from that sin, even though a plague fell on the community of the LORD!
  3. And are you now turning away from the LORD ? " 'If you rebel against the LORD today, tomorrow he will be angry with the whole community of Israel.
  4. If the land you possess is defiled, come over to the LORD's land, where the LORD's tabernacle stands, and share the land with us. But do not rebel against the LORD or against us by building an altar for yourselves, other than the altar of the LORD our God.
  5. When Achan son of Zerah acted unfaithfully regarding the devoted things, did not wrath come upon the whole community of Israel? He was not the only one who died for his sin.' "
  1. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 반 지파가 이스라엘 천만인의 두령에게 대답하여 가로되
  2. 전능하신 자 하나님 여호와, 전능하신 자 하나님 여호와께서 아시나니 이스라엘도 장차 알리라 이 일이 만일 여호와께 패역함이거나 범죄함이거든 주는 오늘날 우리를 구원치 마시옵소서
  3. 우리가 단을 쌓은 것이 돌이켜 여호와를 좇지 아니하려 함이거나 혹시 그 위에 번제나 소제를 드리려 함이거나 혹시 화목제물을 드리려 함이어든 여호와는 친히 벌하시옵소서
  4. 우리가 목적이 있어서 주의하고 이같이 하였노라 곧 생각하기를 후일에 너희 자손이 우리 자손에게 말하여 이르기를 너희가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와와 무슨 상관이 있느냐
  5. 너희 르우벤 자손 갓 자손아 여호와께서 우리와 너희 사이에 요단으로 경계를 삼으셨나니 너희는 여호와께 분의가 없느니라 하여 너희 자손이 우리 자손으로 여호와 경외하기를 그치게 할까 하여
  1. Then Reuben, Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh replied to the heads of the clans of Israel:
  2. "The Mighty One, God, the LORD! The Mighty One, God, the LORD! He knows! And let Israel know! If this has been in rebellion or disobedience to the LORD, do not spare us this day.
  3. If we have built our own altar to turn away from the LORD and to offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, or to sacrifice fellowship offerings on it, may the LORD himself call us to account.
  4. "No! We did it for fear that some day your descendants might say to ours, 'What do you have to do with the LORD, the God of Israel?
  5. The LORD has made the Jordan a boundary between us and you--you Reubenites and Gadites! You have no share in the LORD.' So your descendants might cause ours to stop fearing the LORD.
  1. 우리가 말하기를 우리가 이제 한 단 쌓기를 예비하자 하였노니 이는 번제를 위함도 아니요 다른 제사를 위함도 아니라
  2. 우리가 여호와 앞에서 우리 번제와 우리 다른 제사와 우리 화목제로 섬기는 것을 우리와 너희 사이와 우리의 후대 사이에 증거가 되게 할뿐으로서 너희 자손으로 후일에 우리 자손에게 이르기를 너희는 여호와께 분의가 없다 못하게 하려 함이로라
  3. 우리가 말하였거니와 만일 그들이 후일에 우리에게나 우리 후대에게 이 같이 말하면 우리가 말하기를 우리 열조가 지은 여호와의 단 모형을 보라 이는 번제를 위한 것도 아니요 다른 제사를 위한 것도 아니라 오직 우리와 너희 사이에 증거만 되게 할뿐이라
  4. 우리가 번제나 소제나 다른 제사를 위하여 우리 하나님 여호와의 성막 앞에 있는 단 외에 단을 쌓음으로 여호와께 패역하고 오늘날 여호와를 좇음에서 떠나려 함은 결단코 아니니라 하리라
  5. 제사장 비느하스와 그와 함께한 회중의 방백 곧 이스라엘 천만인의 두령들이 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 자손의 말을 듣고 좋게 여긴지라
  1. "That is why we said, 'Let us get ready and build an altar--but not for burnt offerings or sacrifices.'
  2. On the contrary, it is to be a witness between us and you and the generations that follow, that we will worship the LORD at his sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices and fellowship offerings. Then in the future your descendants will not be able to say to ours, 'You have no share in the LORD.'
  3. "And we said, 'If they ever say this to us, or to our descendants, we will answer: Look at the replica of the LORD's altar, which our fathers built, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.'
  4. "Far be it from us to rebel against the LORD and turn away from him today by building an altar for burnt offerings, grain offerings and sacrifices, other than the altar of the LORD our God that stands before his tabernacle."
  5. When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the community--the heads of the clans of the Israelites--heard what Reuben, Gad and Manasseh had to say, they were pleased.
  1. 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스가 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손과 므낫세 자손에게 이르되 우리가 오늘날 여호와께서 우리 중에 계신 줄을 아노니 이는 너희가 이 죄를 여호와께 범치 아니하였음이라 너희가 이제 이스라엘 자손을 여호와의 손에서 건져내었느니라 하고
  2. 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스와 방백들이 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손을 떠나 길르앗 땅에서 가나안 땅에 돌아와 이스라엘 자손에게 이르러 회보하매
  3. 그 일이 이스라엘 자손을 즐겁게 한지라 이스라엘 자손이 하나님을 찬송하고 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손의 거하는 땅에 가서 싸와 그것을 멸하자 하는 말을 다시 하지 아니 하였더라
  4. 르우벤 자손과 갓 자손이 그 단을 엣이라 칭하였으니 우리 사이에 이 단은 여호와께서 하나님이 되시는 증거라 함이었더라
  1. And Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, said to Reuben, Gad and Manasseh, "Today we know that the LORD is with us, because you have not acted unfaithfully toward the LORD in this matter. Now you have rescued the Israelites from the LORD's hand."
  2. Then Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, and the leaders returned to Canaan from their meeting with the Reubenites and Gadites in Gilead and reported to the Israelites.
  3. They were glad to hear the report and praised God. And they talked no more about going to war against them to devastate the country where the Reubenites and the Gadites lived.
  4. And the Reubenites and the Gadites gave the altar this name: A Witness Between Us that the LORD is God.
