예레미야 28:1-29:32

 예레미야의 목에 얹은 나무 멍에를 꺾어 버린 거짓 선지자 하나냐는 하나님의 징계를 받아 죽었고, 유다는 쇠 멍에를 얹게 되었다. 예레미야는 바벨론에 잡혀 간 유다 백성들에게 편지를 보내어 귀환할 때까지 그 곳에서 평안히 거할 것을 당부했으며, 거짓 선지자들에게 현혹되지 말 것을 경고하였다. 이에 스마야는 예레미야를 처벌하도록 본국에 요청하였지만 야웨께서는 스마야를 징벌하시겠다고 선언하셨다.
  
  거짓 선지자 하나냐(28:1-28:17)    
 
  1. 이 해, 유다 왕 시드기야의 즉위한지 오래지 않은 해 곧 사년 오월에 기브온 앗술의 아들 선지자 하나냐가 여호와의 집에서 제사장들과 모든 백성 앞에서 내게 말하여 가로되
  2. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하여 가라사대 내가 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 꺾었느니라
  3. 내가 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 이곳에서 바벨론으로 옮겨간 여호와의 집 모든 기구를 두 해가 차기 전에 다시 이곳으로 가져 오게 하겠고
  4. 내가 또 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고니야와 바벨론으로 간 유다 모든 포로를 다시 이곳으로 돌아오게 하리니 이는 내가 바벨론 왕의 멍에를 꺾을 것임이니라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨다 하는지라
  5. 선지자 예레미야가 여호와의 집에 선 제사장들의 앞과 모든 백성 앞에서 선지자 하나냐에게 말할쌔
  1. In the fifth month of that same year, the fourth year, early in the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, who was from Gibeon, said to me in the house of the LORD in the presence of the priests and all the people:
  2. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: 'I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.
  3. Within two years I will bring back to this place all the articles of the LORD's house that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon removed from here and took to Babylon.
  4. I will also bring back to this place Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim king of Judah and all the other exiles from Judah who went to Babylon,' declares the LORD, 'for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon.' "
  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah replied to the prophet Hananiah before the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD.
  1. 선지자 예레미야가 말하되 아멘, 여호와는 이 같이 하옵소서 여호와께서 네 예언대로 이루사 여호와의 집 기구와 모든 포로를 바벨론에서 이곳으로 다시 옮겨오시기를 원하노라
  2. 그러나 너는 이제 내가 네 귀와 모든 백성의 귀에 이르는 이 말을 들으라
  3. 나와 너 이전 선지자들이 자고로 여러 나라와 큰 국가들에 대하여 전쟁과 재앙과 염병을 예언하였느니라
  4. 평화를 예언하는 선지자는 그 예언자의 말이 응한 후에야 그는 진실로 여호와의 보내신 선지자로 알게 되리라
  5. 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 취하여 꺾고
  1. He said, "Amen! May the LORD do so! May the LORD fulfill the words you have prophesied by bringing the articles of the LORD's house and all the exiles back to this place from Babylon.
  2. Nevertheless, listen to what I have to say in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people:
  3. From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms.
  4. But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true."
  5. Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it,
  1. 모든 백성 앞에서 말하여 가로되 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 두 해가 차기 전에 열방의 목에서 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 멍에를 이 같이 꺾어버리리라 하셨느니라 하매 선지자 예레미야가 자기 길을 가니라
  2. 선지자 하나냐가 선지자 예레미야의 목에서 멍에를 꺾어버린 후에 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 가라사대
  3. 너는 가서 하나냐에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와의 말씀에 네가 나무 멍에를 꺾었으나 그 대신 쇠 멍에를 만들었느니라
  4. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라 내가 쇠 멍에로 이 모든 나라의 목에 메워 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살을 섬기게 하였으니 그들이 그를 섬기리라 내가 들짐승도 그에게 주었느니라 하신다 하라
  5. 선지자 예레미야가 선지자 하나냐에게 이르되 하나냐여 들으라 여호와께서 너를 보내지 아니하셨거늘 네가 이 백성으로 거짓을 믿게 하는도다
  1. and he said before all the people, "This is what the LORD says: 'In the same way will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon off the neck of all the nations within two years.' " At this, the prophet Jeremiah went on his way.
  2. Shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
  3. "Go and tell Hananiah, 'This is what the LORD says: You have broken a wooden yoke, but in its place you will get a yoke of iron.
  4. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I will put an iron yoke on the necks of all these nations to make them serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they will serve him. I will even give him control over the wild animals.' "
  5. Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, "Listen, Hananiah! The LORD has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.
  1. 그러므로 여호와께서 말씀하시되 내가 너를 지면에서 제하리니 네가 여호와께 패역하는 말을 하였음이라 금년에 죽으리라 하셨느니라 하더니
  2. 선지자 하나냐가 그 해 칠월에 죽었더라
  1. Therefore, this is what the LORD says: 'I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the LORD.' "
  2. In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.
 
  포로된 백성에게 보낸 편지(29:1-29:23)    
 
  1. 선지자 예레미야가 예루살렘에서 이같은 편지를 느부갓네살이 예루살렘에서 바벨론으로 옮겨간 포로 중 남아 있는 장로들과 제사장들과 선지자들과 모든 백성에게 보내었는데
  2. 때는 여고니야왕과 국모와 환관들과 및 유다와 예루살렘 방백들과 목공들과 철공들이 예루살렘에서 떠난 후라
  3. 유다 왕 시드기야가 바벨론으로 보내어 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살에게로 가게 한 사반의 아들 엘라사와 힐기야의 아들 그마랴의 손에 위탁하였더라 일렀으되
  4. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님 내가 예루살렘에서 바벨론으로 사로잡혀 가게 한 모든 포로에게 이같이 이르노라
  5. 너희는 집을 짓고 거기 거하며 전원을 만들고 그 열매를 먹으라
  1. This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  2. (This was after King Jehoiachin and the queen mother, the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen and the artisans had gone into exile from Jerusalem.)
  3. He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said:
  4. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon:
  5. "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.
  1. 아내를 취하여 자녀를 생산하며 너희 아들로 아내를 취하며 너희 딸로 남편을 맞아 그들로 자녀를 생산케 하여 너희로 거기서 번성하고 쇠잔하지 않게 하라
  2. 너희는 내가 사로잡혀 가게 한 그 성읍의 평안하기를 힘쓰고 위하여 여호와께 기도하라 이는 그 성이 평안함으로 너희도 평안할 것임이니라
  3. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라 너희 중 선지자들에게와 복술에게 혹하지 말며 너희가 꾼바 꿈도 신청하지 말라
  4. 내가 그들을 보내지 아니하였어도 그들이 내 이름으로 거짓을 예언함이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  5. 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 바벨론에서 칠십년이 차면 내가 너희를 권고하고 나의 선한 말을 너희에게 실행하여 너희를 이곳으로 돌아오게 하리라
  1. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease.
  2. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper."
  3. Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have.
  4. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them," declares the LORD.
  5. This is what the LORD says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place.
  1. 나 여호와가 말하노라 너희를 향한 나의 생각은 내가 아나니 재앙이 아니라 곧 평안이요 너희 장래에 소망을 주려하는 생각이라
  2. 너희는 내게 부르짖으며 와서 내게 기도하면 내가 너희를 들을 것이요
  3. 너희가 전심으로 나를 찾고 찾으면 나를 만나리라
  4. 나 여호와가 말하노라 내가 너희에게 만나지겠고 너희를 포로된 중에서 다시 돌아오게 하되 내가 쫓아 보내었던 열방과 모든 곳에서 모아 사로잡혀 떠나게 하던 본 곳으로 돌아오게 하리라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨느니라
  5. 너희가 말하기를 여호와께서 바벨론에서 우리를 위하여 선지자들을 일으키셨다 하므로
  1. For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
  2. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
  3. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
  4. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."
  5. You may say, "The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,"
  1. 여호와께서 다윗의 위에 앉은 왕과 이 성에 거하는 모든 백성 곧 너희와 함께 포로되어 가지 아니한 너희 형제에게 대하여 이같이 말씀하시느니라
  2. 만군의 여호와께서 이같이 말씀하시되 보라 내가 칼과 기근과 염병을 그들에게 보내어 그들로 악하여 먹을 수 없는 악한 무화과 같게 하겠고
  3. 내가 칼과 기근과 염병으로 그들을 따르게 하며 그들을 세계 열방 중에 흩어 학대를 당하게 할 것이며 내가 그들을 쫓아 보낸 열방 중에서 저줏거리와 놀램과 치소와 모욕거리가 되게 하리니
  4. 이는 내가 내 종 선지자들을 그들에게 보내되 부지런히 보내었으나 그들이 나 여호와의 말을 듣지 아니하며 듣지 아니 함이니라 여호와의 말이니라
  5. 그런즉 내가 예루살렘에서 바벨론으로 보낸 너희 모든 포로여 나 여호와의 말을 들을찌니라
  1. but this is what the LORD says about the king who sits on David's throne and all the people who remain in this city, your countrymen who did not go with you into exile-
  2. yes, this is what the LORD Almighty says: "I will send the sword, famine and plague against them and I will make them like poor figs that are so bad they cannot be eaten.
  3. I will pursue them with the sword, famine and plague and will make them abhorrent to all the kingdoms of the earth and an object of cursing and horror, of scorn and reproach, among all the nations where I drive them.
  4. For they have not listened to my words," declares the LORD, "words that I sent to them again and again by my servants the prophets. And you exiles have not listened either," declares the LORD.
  5. Therefore, hear the word of the LORD, all you exiles whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
  1. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님 내가 골라야의 아들 아합과 마아세야의 아들 시드기야에 대하여 말하노라 그들은 내 이름으로 너희에게 거짓을 예언한 자라 보라 내가 그들을 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 붙이리니 그가 너희 목전에서 그들을 죽일 것이라
  2. 너희 바벨론에 있는 유다 모든 포로가 그들로 저줏거리를 삼아서 이르기를 여호와께서 너로 바벨론 왕이 불살라 죽인 시드기야와 아합 같게 하시기를 원하노라 하리니
  3. 이는 그들이 이스라엘 중에서 망령되이 행하여 그 이웃의 아내와 행음하며 내가 그들에게 명하지 아니한 거짓을 내 이름으로 말함이니라 나는 아는 자요 증거인이니라 여호와의 말이니라 하셨다 하였더라
  1. This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says about Ahab son of Kolaiah and Zedekiah son of Maaseiah, who are prophesying lies to you in my name: "I will hand them over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will put them to death before your very eyes.
  2. Because of them, all the exiles from Judah who are in Babylon will use this curse: 'The LORD treat you like Zedekiah and Ahab, whom the king of Babylon burned in the fire.'
  3. For they have done outrageous things in Israel; they have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives and in my name have spoken lies, which I did not tell them to do. I know it and am a witness to it," declares the LORD.
 
  스마야의 편지(29:24-29:32)    
 
  1. 너는 느헬람 사람 스마야에게 이같이 말하여 이르라
  2. 만군의 여호와 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말씀하여 가라사대 네가 네 이름으로 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성과 제사장 마아세야의 아들 스바냐와 모든 제사장에게 글을 보내어 이르기를
  3. 여호와께서 너로 제사장 여호야다를 대신하여 제사장을 삼아 여호와의 집 유사로 세우심은 무릇 미친 자와 자칭 선지자를 착고에 채우며 칼을 메우게 하심이어늘
  4. 이제 네가 어찌하여 너희 중에 자칭 선지자라 하는 아나돗 사람 예레미야를 책망하지 아니하느냐
  5. 대저 그가 바벨론에 있는 우리에게 편지하기를 때가 오래리니 너희는 집을 짓고 거기 거하며 전원을 만들고 그 열매를 먹으라 하였다 하였느니라
  1. Tell Shemaiah the Nehelamite,
  2. "This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: You sent letters in your own name to all the people in Jerusalem, to Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the other priests. You said to Zephaniah,
  3. 'The LORD has appointed you priest in place of Jehoiada to be in charge of the house of the LORD; you should put any madman who acts like a prophet into the stocks and neck-irons.
  4. So why have you not reprimanded Jeremiah from Anathoth, who poses as a prophet among you?
  5. He has sent this message to us in Babylon: It will be a long time. Therefore build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce.' "
  1. 제사장 스바냐가 스마야의 글을 선지자 예레미야에게 읽어 들릴 때에
  2. 여호와의 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하여 가라사대
  3. 너는 모든 포로에게 글을 보내어 이르기를 여호와께서 느헬람 사람 스마야에 대하여 이같이 말씀하시되 내가 스마야를 보내지 아니하였거늘 그가 너희에게 예언하고 너희로 거짓을 믿게 하였도다
  4. 그러므로 나 여호와가 이같이 말하노라 보라 내가 느헬람 사람 스마야와 그 자손을 벌하리니 그가 나 여호와께 패역한 말을 하였음을 인하여 이 백성 중에 거할 그의 사람이 하나도 없을 것이라 내가 내 백성에게 행하려 하는 선한 일을 그가 보지 못하리라 하셨다 하라 여호와의 말이니라
  1. Zephaniah the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet.
  2. Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah:
  3. "Send this message to all the exiles: 'This is what the LORD says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send him, and has led you to believe a lie,
  4. this is what the LORD says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the LORD, because he has preached rebellion against me.' "
