욥기 20:1-22:30

 소발은 잔인하기 짝이 없는 비유까지 서슴지 않고 하면서 욥에게 회개를 강조하였다. 이에 대하여 욥은 가만히 있을 수 없어서 악인의 형통함에 관하여 역설하였다. 엘리바스는 욥의 죄악이 크다고 책망하였다. 그러나 훗날에 그는 위로자의 자세로 돌아가 회개하여 불의를 버리면 하나님께서 다시 욥의 기도를 들어주실 것이라고 권면하였다.
  
  소발의 두번째 충고(20:1-20:29)    
 
  1. 나아마 사람 소발이 대답하여 가로되
  2. 그러므로 내 생각이 내게 대답하나니 이는 내 중심이 초급함이니라
  3. 내가 나를 부끄럽게 하는 책망을 들었으므로 나의 슬기로운 마음이 내게 대답하는구나
  4. 네가 알지 못하느냐 예로부터 사람이 이 세상에 있어 옴으로
  5. 악인의 이기는 자랑도 잠시요 사곡한 자의 즐거움도 잠간이니라
  1. Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
  2. Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
  3. I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
  4. Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
  5. That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
  1. 그 높기가 하늘에 닿고 그 머리가 구름에 미칠찌라도
  2. 자기의 똥처럼 영원히 망할 것이라 그를 본 자가 이르기를 그가 어디 있느냐 하리라
  3. 그는 꿈 같이 지나가니 다시 찾을 수 없을 것이요 밤에 보이던 환상처럼 쫓겨가리니
  4. 그를 본 눈이 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이요 그의 처소도 다시 그를 보지 못할 것이며
  5. 그의 자녀들이 가난한 자에게 은혜를 구하겠고 그도 얻은 재물을 자기 손으로 도로 줄것이며
  1. Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
  2. Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
  3. He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
  4. The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
  5. His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
  1. 그 기골이 청년 같이 강장하나 그 기세가 그와 함께 흙에 누우리라
  2. 그는 비록 악을 달게 여겨 혀 밑에 감추며
  3. 아껴서 버리지 아니하고 입에 물고 있을찌라도
  4. 그 식물이 창자 속에서 변하며 뱃속에서 독사의 쓸개가 되느니라
  5. 그가 재물을 삼켰을찌라도 다시 토할 것은 하나님이 그 배에서 도로 나오게 하심이니
  1. His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
  2. Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
  3. Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
  4. Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
  5. He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
  1. 그가 독사의 독을 빨며 뱀의 혀에 죽을 것이라
  2. 그는 강 곧 꿀과 엉긴 젖이 흐르는 강을 보지 못할 것이요
  3. 수고하여 얻은 것을 도로 주고 삼키지 못할 것이며 매매하여 얻은 재물로 즐거워하지 못하리니
  4. 이는 그가 가난한 자를 학대하고 버림이요 자기가 세우지 않은 집을 빼앗음이니라
  5. 그는 마음에 족한 줄을 알지 못하니 그 기뻐하는 것을 하나도 보존치 못하겠고
  1. He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper's tongue shall slay him.
  2. He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
  3. That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
  4. Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
  5. Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
  1. 남긴 것이 없이 몰수히 먹으니 그런즉 그 형통함이 오래지 못할 것이라
  2. 풍족할 때에도 곤액이 이르리니 모든 고통하는 자의 손이 그에게 닿으리라
  3. 그가 배를 불리려 할 때에 하나님이 맹렬한 진노를 내리시리니 밥 먹을 때에 그의 위에 비 같이 쏟으시리라
  4. 그가 철 병기를 피할 때에는 놋활이 쏘아 꿸 것이요
  5. 몸에서 그 살을 빼어 낸즉 번쩍번쩍하는 촉이 그 쓸개에서 나오고 큰 두려움이 그에게 임하느니라
  1. There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
  2. In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
  3. When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
  4. He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
  5. It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
  1. 모든 캄캄한 것이 그의 보물을 위하여 쌓이고 사람이 피우지 않은 불이 그를 멸하며 그 장막에 남은 것을 사르리라
  2. 하늘이 그의 죄악을 드러낼 것이요 땅이 일어나 그를 칠 것인즉
  3. 그 가산이 패하여 하나님의 진노하시는 날에 흘러가리니
  4. 이는 악인이 하나님께 받을 분깃이요 하나님이 그에게 정하신 산업이니라
  1. All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
  2. The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
  3. The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
  4. This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
 
  욥의 변증(21:1-21:34)    
 
  1. 욥이 대답하여 가로되
  2. 너희는 내 말을 자세히 들으라 이것이 너희의 위로가 될 것이니라
  3. 나를 용납하여 말하게 하라 내가 말한 후에 또 조롱할찌니라
  4. 나의 원망이 사람을 향하여 하는 것이냐 내가 어찌 초급하지 아니하겠느냐
  5. 너희는 나를 보아라, 놀라라, 손으로 입을 가리우라
  1. But Job answered and said,
  2. Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
  3. Suffer me that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.
  4. As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
  5. Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
  1. 내가 추억하기만 하여도 답답하고 두려움이 내 몸을 잡는구나
  2. 어찌하여 악인이 살고 수를 누리고 세력이 강하냐
  3. 씨가 그들의 앞에서 그들과 함께 굳게 서고 자손이 그들의 목전에서 그러하구나
  4. 그 집이 평안하여 두려움이 없고 하나님의 매가 그 위에 임하지 아니하며
  5. 그 수소는 영락 없이 새끼를 배게 하고 그 암소는 새끼를 낳고 낙태하지 않는구나
  1. Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
  2. Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, are mighty in power?
  3. Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
  4. Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
  5. Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
  1. 그들은 아이들을 내어보냄이 양 떼 같고 그 자녀들은 춤 추는구나
  2. 그들이 소고와 수금으로 노래하고 피리 불어 즐기며
  3. 그 날을 형통하게 지내다가 경각간에 음부에 내려가느니라
  4. 그러할찌라도 그들은 하나님께 말하기를 우리를 떠나소서 우리가 주의 도리 알기를 즐겨하지 아니하나이다
  5. 전능자가 누구기에 우리가 섬기며 우리가 그에게 기도한들 무슨 이익을 얻으랴 하는구나
  1. They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
  2. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ.
  3. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.
  4. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
  5. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
  1. 그들의 복록이 그들의 손으로 말미암은 것이 아니니라 악인의 계획은 나와 판이하니라
  2. 악인의 등불이 꺼짐이나 재앙이 그들에게 임함이나 하나님이 진노하사 그들을 곤고케 하심이나
  3. 그들이 바람 앞에 검불 같이, 폭풍에 불려가는 겨 같이 되는 일이 몇번이나 있었느냐
  4. 하나님이 그의 죄악을 쌓아 두셨다가 그 자손에게 갚으신다 하거니와 그 몸에 갚으셔서 그로 깨닫게 하셔야 할 것이라
  5. 자기의 멸망을 자기의 눈으로 보게 하시며 전능자의 진노를 마시게 하셔야 할 것이니라
  1. Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
  2. How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
  3. They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
  4. God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
  5. His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
  1. 그의 달 수가 진하면 자기 집에 대하여 무슨 관계가 있겠느냐
  2. 그러나 하나님은 높은 자들을 심판하시나니 누가 능히 하나님께 지식을 가르치겠느냐
  3. 어떤 사람은 죽도록 기운이 충실하여 평강하며 안일하고
  4. 그 그릇에는 젖이 가득하며 그 골수는 윤택하였고
  5. 어떤 사람은 죽도록 마음에 고통하고 복을 맛보지 못하였어도
  1. For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
  2. Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
  3. One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
  4. His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
  5. And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
  1. 이 둘이 일반으로 흙 속에 눕고 그 위에 구더기가 덮이는구나
  2. 내가 너희의 생각을 알고 너희가 나를 해하려는 궤휼도 아노라
  3. 너희의 말이 왕후의 집이 어디 있으며 악인의 거하던 장막이 어디 있느뇨 하는구나
  4. 너희가 길 가는 사람들에게 묻지 아니하였느냐 그들의 증거를 알지 못하느냐
  5. 악인은 남기워서 멸망의 날을 기다리움이 되고 멸망의 날을 맞으러 끌려 나감이 된다 하느니라
  1. They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
  2. Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
  3. For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
  4. Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their tokens,
  5. That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
  1. 누가 능히 그의 행위를 면박하며 누가 능히 그의 소위를 보응하랴마는
  2. 그를 무덤으로 메어 가고 사람이 그 무덤을 지키리라
  3. 그는 골짜기의 흙덩이를 달게 여기고 그 앞선 자가 무수함 같이 모든 사람이 그 뒤를 좇으리라
  4. 이러한즉 너희의 위로가 헛되지 아니하냐 너희의 대답은 거짓 뿐이니라
  1. Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
  2. Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
  3. The clods of the valley shall be sweet unto him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
  4. How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
 
  엘리바스의 세번째 충고(22:1-22:30)    
 
  1. 데만 사람 엘리바스가 대답하여 가로되
  2. 사람이 어찌 하나님께 유익하게 하겠느냐 지혜로운 자도 스스로 유익할 따름이니라
  3. 네가 의로운들 전능자에게 무슨 기쁨이 있겠으며 네 행위가 온전한들 그에게 무슨 이익이 있겠느냐
  4. 하나님이 너를 책망하시며 너를 심문하심이 너의 경외함을 인함이냐
  5. 네 악이 크지 아니하냐 네 죄악이 극하니라
  1. Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
  2. Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?
  3. Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
  4. Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?
  5. Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?
  1. 까닭 없이 형제의 물건을 볼모 잡으며 헐벗은 자의 의복을 벗기며
  2. 갈한 자에게 물을 마시우지 아니하며 주린 자에게 식물을 주지 아니하였구나
  3. 권세 있는 자가 토지를 얻고 존귀한 자가 거기서 사는구나
  4. 네가 과부를 공수로 돌아가게 하며 고아의 팔을 꺾는구나
  5. 이러므로 올무들이 너를 둘러 있고 두려움이 홀연히 너를 침범하며
  1. For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
  2. Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
  3. But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man dwelt in it.
  4. Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
  5. Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
  1. 어두움이 너로 보지 못하게 하고 창수가 너를 덮느니라
  2. 하나님이 높은 하늘에 계시지 아니하냐 보라 별의 높음이 얼마나 높은가
  3. 그러나 네 말은 하나님이 무엇을 아시며 흑암 중에서 어찌 심판하실 수 있으랴
  4. 빽빽한 구름이 그를 가리운즉 그가 보지 못하시고 궁창으로 걸어 다니실 뿐이라 하는구나
  5. 네가 악인의 밟던 옛적 길을 지키려느냐
  1. Or darkness, that thou canst not see; and abundance of waters cover thee.
  2. Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
  3. And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud?
  4. Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
  5. Hast thou marked the old way which wicked men have trodden?
  1. 그들은 때가 이르기 전에 끊어버리웠고 그 터는 하수로 인하여 함몰되었느니라
  2. 그들이 하나님께 말하기를 우리를 떠나소서 하며 또 말하기를 전능자가 우리를 위하여 무엇을 하실 수 있으랴 하였으나
  3. 하나님이 좋은 것으로 그 집에 채우셨느니라 악인의 계획은 나와 판이하니라
  4. 의인은 보고 기뻐하고 무죄자는 그들을 비웃기를
  5. 우리의 대적이 끊어졌고 그 남은 것이 불사른바 되었다 하느니라
  1. Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:
  2. Which said unto God, Depart from us: and what can the Almighty do for them?
  3. Yet he filled their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
  4. The righteous see it, and are glad: and the innocent laugh them to scorn.
  5. Whereas our substance is not cut down, but the remnant of them the fire consumeth.
  1. 너는 하나님과 화목하고 평안하라 그리하면 복이 네게 임하리라
  2. 청컨대 너는 그 입에서 교훈을 받고 그 말씀을 네 마음에 두라
  3. 네가 만일 전능자에게로 돌아가고 또 네 장막에서 불의를 멀리 버리면 다시 흥하리라
  4. 네 보배를 진토에 버리고 오빌의 금을 강 가의 돌에 버리라
  5. 그리하면 전능자가 네 보배가 되시며 네게 귀한 은이 되시리니
  1. Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
  2. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
  3. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
  4. Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
  5. Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
  1. 이에 네가 전능자를 기뻐하여 하나님께로 얼굴을 들 것이라
  2. 너는 그에게 기도하겠고 그는 들으실 것이며 너의 서원한 것을 네가 갚으리라
  3. 네가 무엇을 경영하면 이루어질 것이요 네 길에 빛이 비취리라
  4. 네가 낮춤을 받거든 높아지리라고 말하라 하나님은 겸손한 자를 구원하시느니라
  5. 무죄한 자가 아니라도 건지시리니 네 손이 깨끗함을 인하여 그런 자가 건지심을 입으리라
  1. For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
  2. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
  3. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
  4. When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
  5. He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
