	열왕기상 14:1-15:34 하나님의 경고에도 불구하고 우상 숭배의 죄악에서 떠나지 않는 여로보암에게 선지자 아히야는 왕과 그의 후손들이 하나님의 심판으로 비참하게 멸절될 것을 예언하였고, 그 예언대로 여로보암의 아들은 죽고 말았다. 한편 유다 왕 르호보암도 우상 숭배와 도덕적 타락에 빠짐으로써 애굽의 침략을 당하였고, 이후로 남북 왕조는 수많은 전쟁으로 국력이 피폐해 갔다.

	아히야의 예언(14:1-14:20)

그 때에 여로보암의 아들 아비야가 병든지라

여로보암이 그 아내에게 이르되 청컨대 일어나 변장하여 사람으로 그대가 여로보암의 아내임을 알지 못하게 하고 실로로 가라 거기 선지자 아히야가 있나니 저는 이전에 내가 이 백성의 왕이 될 것을 내게 고한 사람이니라

그대의 손에 떡 열과 과자와 꿀 한 병을 가지고 그에게로 가라 저가 그대에게 이 아이의 어떻게 될 것을 알게 하리라

여로보암의 아내가 그대로 하여 일어나 실로로 가서 아히야의 집에 이르니 아히야는 나이로 인하여 눈이 어두워 보지 못하더라

여호와께서 아히야에게 이르시되 여로보암의 아내가 그 아들이 병듦을 인하여 네게 물으러 오나니 너는 이리이리 대답하라 저가 들어올 때에 다른 사람인체 함이니라

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam became sick.

Jeroboam said to his wife, "Arise now, and disguise yourself so that they will not know that you are the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh; behold, Ahijah the prophet is there, who spoke concerning me that I would be king over this people.

"Take ten loaves with you, some cakes and a jar of honey, and go to him. He will tell you what will happen to the boy."

Jeroboam's wife did so, and arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah Now Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were dim because of his age.

Now the LORD had said to Ahijah, "Behold, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire of you concerning her son, for he is sick. You shall say thus and thus to her, for it will be when she arrives that she will pretend to be another woman."

저가 문으로 들어올 때에 아히야가 그 발소리를 듣고 말하되 여로보암의 처여 들어오라 네가 어찌하여 다른 사람인체 하느뇨 내가 명령을 받아 흉한 일로 네게 고하리니

가서 여로보암에게 고하라 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 말씀이 내가 너를 백성 중에서 들어 내 백성 이스라엘의 주권자가 되게 하고

나라를 다윗의 집에서 찢어 내어 네게 주었거늘 너는 내 종 다윗이 나의 명령을 지켜 전심으로 나를 좇으며 나 보기에 정직한 일만 행하였음과 같지 아니하고

너의 이전 사람들보다도 악을 행하고 가서 너를 위하여 다른 신을 만들며 우상을 부어만들어 나의 노를 격발하고 나를 네 등 뒤에 버렸도다

그러므로 내가 여로보암의 집에 재앙을 내려 여로보암에게 속한 사내는 이스라엘 가운데 매인 자나 놓인 자나 다 끊어 버리되 거름을 쓸어 버림 같이 여로보암의 집을 말갛게 쓸어 버릴찌라

When Ahijah heard the sound of her feet coming in the doorway, he said, "Come in, wife of Jeroboam, why do you pretend to be another woman? For I am sent to you with a harsh message.

"Go, say to Jeroboam, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel, "Because I exalted you from among the people and made you leader over My people Israel,

and tore the kingdom away from the house of David and gave it to you--yet you have not been like My servant David, who kept My commandments and who followed Me with all his heart, to do only that which was right in My sight;

you also have done more evil than all who were before you, and have gone and made for yourself other gods and molten images to provoke Me to anger, and have cast Me behind your back--

therefore behold, I am bringing calamity on the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam every male person, both bond and free in Israel, and I will make a clean sweep of the house of Jeroboam, as one sweeps away dung until it is all gone.

여로보암에게 속한 자가 성에서 죽은즉 개가 먹고 들에서 죽은즉 공중의 새가 먹으리니 이는 여호와가 말하였음이니라 하셨나니

너는 일어나 네 집으로 가라 네 발이 성에 들어갈 때에 그 아이가 죽을찌라

온 이스라엘이 저를 위하여 슬퍼하며 장사하려니와 여로보암에게 속한 자는 오직 이 아이만 묘실에 들어가리니 이는 여로보암의 집 가운데서 저가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와를 향하여 선한 뜻을 품었음이니라

여호와께서 이스라엘의 위에 한 왕을 일으키신즉 저가 그 날에 여로보암의 집을 끊어 버리리라 어느 때냐 곧 이제라

여호와께서 이스라엘을 쳐서 물에서 흔들리는 갈대 같이 되게 하시고 이스라엘을 그 열조에게 주신 이 좋은 땅에서 뽑아 저희를 하수 밖으로 흩으시리니 저희가 아세라 목상을 만들어 여호와를 진노케 하였음이니라

"Anyone belonging to Jeroboam who dies in the city the dogs will eat. And he who dies in the field the birds of the heavens will eat; for the LORD has spoken it."'

"Now you, arise, go to your house. When your feet enter the city the child will die.

"All Israel shall mourn for him and bury him, for he alone of Jeroboam's family will come to the grave, because in him something good was found toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

"Moreover, the LORD will raise up for Himself a king over Israel who will cut off the house of Jeroboam this day and from now on.

"For the LORD will strike Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water; and He will uproot Israel from this good land which He gave to their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the Euphrates River, because they have made their Asherim, provoking the LORD to anger.

여호와께서 여로보암의 죄로 인하여 이스라엘을 버리시리니 이는 저도 범죄하고 이스라엘로 범죄케 하였음이니라 하니라

여로보암의 처가 일어나 디르사로 돌아가서 집 문지방에 이를 때에 아이가 죽은지라

온 이스라엘이 저를 장사하고 저를 위하여 슬퍼하니 여호와께서 그 종 선지자 아히야로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었더라

여로보암의 그 남은 행적 곧 저가 어떻게 싸운 것과 어떻게 다스린 것은 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되니라

여로보암이 왕이 된지 이십이년이라 저가 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 아들 나답이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

"He will give up Israel on account of the sins of Jeroboam, which he committed and with which he made Israel to sin."

Then Jeroboam's wife arose and departed and came to Tirzah As she was entering the threshold of the house, the child died.

All Israel buried him and mourned for him, according to the word of the LORD which He spoke through His servant Ahijah the prophet.

Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he made war and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

The time that Jeroboam reigned was twenty-two years; and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his place.

	유다의 우상 숭배(14:21-14:31)

솔로몬의 아들 르호보암은 유다 왕이 되었으니 르호보암이 위에 나아갈 때에 나이 사십일세라 여호와께서 자기 이름을 두시려고 이스라엘 모든 지파 가운데서 빼신 성 예루살렘에서 십 칠년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 나아마라 암몬 사람이더라

유다가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 열조의 행한 모든 일보다 뛰어나게 하여 그 범한 죄로 여호와의 노를 격발하였으니

이는 저희도 산 위에와 모든 푸른 나무 아래 산당과 우상과 아세라 목상을 세웠음이라

그 땅에 또 남색하는 자가 있었고 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 쫓아내신 국민의 모든 가증한 일을 무리가 본받아 행하였더라

르호보암왕 제 오년에 애굽 왕 시삭이 올라와서 예루살렘을 치고

Now Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD had chosen from all the tribes of Israel to put His name there. And his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess.

Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked Him to jealousy more than all that their fathers had done, with the sins which they committed.

For they also built for themselves high places and sacred pillars and Asherim on every high hill and beneath every luxuriant tree.

There were also male cult prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD dispossessed before the sons of Israel.

Now it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak the king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem.

여호와의 전의 보물과 왕궁의 보물을 몰수히 빼앗고 또 솔로몬의 만든 금방패를 다 빼앗은지라

르호보암왕이 그 대신 놋으로 방패를 만들어 왕궁 문을 지키는 시위대 장관의 손에 맡기매

왕이 여호와의 전에 들어갈 때마다 시위하는 자가 그 방패를 들고 갔다가 시위소로 도로 가져갔더라

르호보암의 남은 사적과 무릇 그 행한 일이 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 항상 전쟁이 있으니라

He took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house, and he took everything, even taking all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

So King Rehoboam made shields of bronze in their place, and committed them to the care of the commanders of the guard who guarded the doorway of the king's house.

Then it happened as often as the king entered the house of the LORD, that the guards would carry them and would bring them back into the guards' room.

Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

르호보암이 그 열조와 함께 자니 그 열조와 함께 다윗성에 장사되니라 그 모친의 이름은 나아마라 암몬 사람이더라 그 아들 아비얌이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

And Rehoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and his mother's name was Naamah the Ammonitess. And Abijam his son became king in his place.

	아비얌, 아사의 유다 통치(15:1-15:24)

느밧의 아들 여로보암왕 제 십팔년에 아비얌이 유다 왕이 되고

예루살렘에서 삼년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의 딸이더라

아비얌이 그 부친의 이미 행한 모든 죄를 행하고 그 마음이 그 조상 다윗의 마음 같지 아니하여 그 하나님 여호와 앞에 온전치 못하였으나

그 하나님 여호와께서 다윗을 위하여 예루살렘에서 저에게 등불을 주시되 그 아들을 세워 후사가 되게 하사 예루살렘을 견고케 하셨으니

이는 다윗이 헷 사람 우리아의 일 외에는 평생에 여호와 보시기에 정직히 행하고 자기에게 명하신 모든 일을 어기지 아니하였음이라

Now in the eighteenth year of King Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam became king over Judah.

He reigned three years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, like the heart of his father David.

But for David's sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem;

because David did what was right in the sight of the LORD, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the case of Uriah the Hittite.

르호보암과 여로보암 사이에 사는 날 동안 전쟁이 있었더니

아비얌과 여로보암 사이에도 전쟁이 있으니라 아비얌의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

아비얌이 그 열조와 함께 자니 다윗성에 장사되고 그 아들 아사가 대신하여 왕이 되니라

이스라엘왕 여로보암 제 이십년에 아사가 유다 왕이 되어

예루살렘에서 사십 일년을 치리하니라 그 모친의 이름은 마아가라 아비살롬의 딸이더라

There was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.

Now the rest of the acts of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.

And Abijam slept with his fathers and they buried him in the city of David; and Asa his son became king in his place.

So in the twentieth year of Jeroboam the king of Israel, Asa began to reign as king of Judah.

He reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.

아사가 그 조상 다윗 같이 여호와 보시기에 정직하게 행하여

남색하는 자를 그 땅에서 쫓아내고 그 열조의 지은 모든 우상을 없이 하고

또 그 모친 마아가가 아세라의 가증한 우상을 만들었으므로 태후의 위를 폐하고 그 우상을 찍어서 기드론 시냇가에서 불살랐으나

오직 산당은 없이 하지 아니하니라 그러나 아사의 마음이 일평생 여호와 앞에 온전하였으며

저가 그 부친의 구별한 것과 자기의 구별한 것을 여호와의 전에 받들어 드렸으니 곧 은과 금과 기명들이더라

Asa did what was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father.

He also put away the male cult prostitutes from the land and removed all the idols which his fathers had made.

He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen mother, because she had made a horrid image as an Asherah; and Asa cut down her horrid image and burned it at the brook Kidron.

But the high places were not taken away; nevertheless the heart of Asa was wholly devoted to the LORD all his days.

He brought into the house of the LORD the dedicated things of his father and his own dedicated things: silver and gold and utensils.

아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라

이스라엘 왕 바아사가 유다를 치러 올라와서 라마를 건축하여 사람을 유다 왕 아사에게 왕래하지 못하게 하려한지라

아사가 여호와의 전 곳간과 왕궁 곳간에 남은 은금을 몰수히 취하여 그 신복의 손에 붙여 다메섹에 거한 아람 왕 헤시온의 손자 다브림몬의 아들 벤하닷에게 보내며 가로되

나와 당신 사이에 약조가 있고 내 부친과 당신의 부친 사이에도 있었느니라 내가 당신에게 은금 예물을 보내었으니 와서 이스라엘 왕 바아사와 세운 약조를 깨뜨려서 저로 나를 떠나게 하라 하매

벤하닷이 아사왕의 말을 듣고 그 군대장관들을 보내어 이스라엘 성들을 치되 이욘과 단과 아벨벧마아가와 긴네렛 온 땅과 납달리 온 땅을 쳤더니

Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah in order to prevent anyone from going out or coming in to Asa king of Judah.

Then Asa took all the silver and the gold which were left in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the treasuries of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Aram, who lived in Damascus, saying,

"Let there be a treaty between you and me, as between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you a present of silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so that he will withdraw from me."

So Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, and conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali.

바아사가 듣고 라마 건축하는 일을 그치고 디르사에 거하니라

이에 아사왕이 온 유다에 영을 내려 한 사람도 모면하지 못하게 하여 바아사가 라마를 건축하던 돌과 재목을 가져오게 하고 그것으로 베냐민의 게바와 미스바를 건축하였더라

아사의 남은 사적과 모든 권세와 무릇 그 행한 일과 성읍을 건축한 것이 유다 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐 그러나 저가 늙을 때에 발에 병이 있었더라

아사가 그 열조와 함께 자매 그 열조와 함께 그 조상 다윗의 성에 장사되고 그 아들 여호사밧이 대신하여 왕이 되니라

When Baasha heard of it, he ceased fortifying Ramah and remained in Tirzah.

Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah--none was exempt--and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber with which Baasha had built. And King Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.

Now the rest of all the acts of Asa and all his might and all that he did and the cities which he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.

And Asa slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.

	나답, 바아사의 이스라엘 통치(15:25-15:34)

유다 왕 아사 제 이년에 여로보암의 아들 나답이 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이년을 이스라엘을 다스리니라

저가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 그 아비의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 범하게 한 그 죄중에 행한지라

이에 잇사갈 족속 아히야의 아들 바아사가 저를 모반하여 블레셋 사람에게 속한 깁브돈에서 저를 죽였으니 이는 나답과 온 이스라엘이 깁브돈을 에워싸고 있었음이더라

유다 왕 아사 제 삼년에 바아사가 나답을 죽이고 대신하여 왕이 되고

왕이 될 때에 여로보암의 온 집을 쳐서 생명 있는 자를 하나도 남기지 아니하고 다 멸하였는데 여호와께서 그 종 실로 사람 아히야로 하신 말씀과 같이 되었으니

Now Nadab the son of Jeroboam became king over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.

He did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father and in his sin which he made Israel sin.

Then Baasha the son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, while Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.

So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah and reigned in his place.

It came about as soon as he was king, he struck down all the household of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam any persons alive, until he had destroyed them, according to the word of the LORD, which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,

이는 여로보암이 범죄하고 또 이스라엘로 범하게 한 죄로 인함이며 또 저가 이스라엘 하나님 여호와의 노를 격동시킨 일을 인함이었더라

나답의 남은 사적과 무릇 행한 일이 이스라엘 왕 역대지략에 기록되지 아니하였느냐

아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사 사이에 일생 전쟁이 있으니라

유다 왕 아사 제 삼년에 아히야의 아들 바아사가 디르사에서 온 이스라엘의 왕이 되어 이십 사년을 치리하니라

바아사가 여호와 보시기에 악을 행하되 여로보암의 길로 행하며 그가 이스라엘로 범하게 한 그 죄 중에 행하였더라

and because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, because of his provocation with which he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.

Now the rest of the acts of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.

In the third year of Asa king of Judah, Baasha the son of Ahijah became king over all Israel at Tirzah, and reigned twenty-four years.

He did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam and in his sin which he made Israel sin.
