예레미야애가 3:1-5:22

 예레미야는 자비와 긍휼이 무한하신 하나님께 절망에 처한 백성들을 구원해 주시기를 간구했고, 유다 백성들과 지도자들에게 그들의 죄를 상기시켜 회개를 촉구하였다. 그리고 유다의 회복을 소망하며 하나님께서 구원해 주실 것을 호소하였다.
  
  선지자의 고통과 기도(3:1-3:66)    
 
  1. 여호와의 노하신 매로 인하여 고난 당한 자는 내로다
  2. 나를 이끌어 흑암에 행하고 광명에 행치 않게 하셨으며
  3. 종일토록 손을 돌이켜 자주 자주 나를 치시도다
  4. 나의 살과 가죽을 쇠하게 하시며 나의 뼈를 꺾으셨고
  5. 담즙과 수고를 쌓아 나를 에우셨으며
  1. I am the man who has seen affliction Because of the rod of His wrath.
  2. He has driven me and made me walk In darkness and not in light.
  3. Surely against me He has turned His hand Repeatedly all the day.
  4. He has caused my flesh and my skin to waste away, He has broken my bones.
  5. He has besieged and encompassed me with bitterness and hardship.
  1. 나로 흑암에 거하게 하시기를 죽은지 오랜 자 같게 하셨도다
  2. 나를 둘러 싸서 나가지 못하게 하시고 나의 사슬을 무겁게 하셨으며
  3. 내가 부르짖어 도움을 구하나 내 기도를 물리치시며
  4. 다듬은 돌을 쌓아 내 길을 막으사 내 첩경을 굽게 하셨도다
  5. 저는 내게 대하여 엎드리어 기다리는 곰과 은밀한 곳의 사자 같으사
  1. In dark places He has made me dwell, Like those who have long been dead.
  2. He has walled me in so that I cannot go out; He has made my chain heavy.
  3. Even when I cry out and call for help, He shuts out my prayer.
  4. He has blocked my ways with hewn stone; He has made my paths crooked.
  5. He is to me like a bear lying in wait, Like a lion in secret places.
  1. 나의 길로 치우치게 하시며 내 몸을 찢으시며 나로 적막하게 하셨도다
  2. 활을 당기고 나로 과녁을 삼으심이여
  3. 전동의 살로 내 허리를 맞추셨도다
  4. 나는 내 모든 백성에게 조롱거리 곧 종일토록 그들의 노랫거리가 되었도다
  5. 나를 쓴 것으로 배불리시고 쑥으로 취하게 하셨으며
  1. He has turned aside my ways and torn me to pieces; He has made me desolate.
  2. He bent His bow And set me as a target for the arrow.
  3. He made the arrows of His quiver To enter into my inward parts.
  4. I have become a laughingstock to all my people, Their mocking song all the day.
  5. He has filled me with bitterness, He has made me drunk with wormwood.
  1. 조약돌로 내 이를 꺾으시고 재로 나를 덮으셨도다
  2. 주께서 내 심령으로 평강을 멀리 떠나게 하시니 내가 복을 잊어버렸음이여
  3. 스스로 이르기를 나의 힘과 여호와께 대한 내 소망이 끊어졌다 하였도다
  4. 내 고초와 재난 곧 쑥과 담즙을 기억하소서
  5. 내 심령이 그것을 기억하고 낙심이 되오나
  1. He has broken my teeth with gravel; He has made me cower in the dust.
  2. My soul has been rejected from peace; I have forgotten happiness.
  3. So I say, "My strength has perished, And so has my hope from the LORD."
  4. Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and bitterness.
  5. Surely my soul remembers And is bowed down within me.
  1. 중심에 회상한즉 오히려 소망이 있사옴은
  2. 여호와의 자비와 긍휼이 무궁하시므로 우리가 진멸되지 아니함이니이다
  3. 이것이 아침마다 새로우니 주의 성실이 크도소이다
  4. 내 심령에 이르기를 여호와는 나의 기업이시니 그러므로 내가 저를 바라리라 하도다
  5. 무릇 기다리는 자에게나 구하는 영혼에게 여호와께서 선을 베푸시는도다
  1. This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope.
  2. The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail.
  3. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
  4. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him."
  5. The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.
  1. 사람이 여호와의 구원을 바라고 잠잠히 기다림이 좋도다
  2. 사람이 젊었을 때에 멍에를 메는 것이 좋으니
  3. 혼자 앉아서 잠잠할 것은 주께서 그것을 메우셨음이라
  4. 입을 티끌에 댈찌어다 혹시 소망이 있을찌로다
  5. 때리는 자에게 뺨을 향하여 수욕으로 배불릴찌어다
  1. It is good that he waits silently For the salvation of the LORD.
  2. It is good for a man that he should bear The yoke in his youth.
  3. Let him sit alone and be silent Since He has laid it on him.
  4. Let him put his mouth in the dust, Perhaps there is hope.
  5. Let him give his cheek to the smiter, Let him be filled with reproach.
  1. 이는 주께서 영원토록 버리지 않으실 것임이며
  2. 저가 비록 근심케 하시나 그 풍부한 자비대로 긍휼히 여기실 것임이라
  3. 주께서 인생으로 고생하며 근심하게 하심이 본심이 아니시로다
  4. 세상에 모든 갇힌 자를 발로 밟는 것과
  5. 지극히 높으신 자의 얼굴 앞에서 사람의 재판을 굽게 하는 것과
  1. For the Lord will not reject forever,
  2. For if He causes grief, Then He will have compassion According to His abundant lovingkindness.
  3. For He does not afflict willingly Or grieve the sons of men.
  4. To crush under His feet All the prisoners of the land,
  5. To deprive a man of justice In the presence of the Most High,
  1. 사람의 송사를 억울케 하는 것은 다 주의 기쁘게 보시는 것이 아니로다
  2. 주의 명령이 아니면 누가 능히 말하여 이루게 하랴
  3. 화, 복이 지극히 높으신 자의 입으로 나오지 아니하느냐
  4. 살아 있는 사람은 자기 죄로 벌을 받나니 어찌 원망하랴
  5. 우리가 스스로 행위를 조사하고 여호와께로 돌아가자
  1. To defraud a man in his lawsuit-- Of these things the Lord does not approve.
  2. Who is there who speaks and it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it?
  3. Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That both good and ill go forth?
  4. Why should any living mortal, or any man, Offer complaint in view of his sins?
  5. Let us examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the LORD.
  1. 마음과 손을 아울러 하늘에 계신 하나님께 들자
  2. 우리의 범죄함과 패역함을 주께서 사하지 아니하시고
  3. 진노로 스스로 가리우시고 우리를 군축하시며 살륙하사 긍휼을 베풀지 아니하셨나이다
  4. 주께서 구름으로 스스로 가리우사 기도로 상달치 못하게 하시고
  5. 우리를 열방 가운데서 진개와 폐물을 삼으셨으므로
  1. We lift up our heart and hands Toward God in heaven;
  2. We have transgressed and rebelled, You have not pardoned.
  3. You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and have not spared.
  4. You have covered Yourself with a cloud So that no prayer can pass through.
  5. You have made us mere offscouring and refuse In the midst of the peoples.
  1. 우리의 모든 대적이 우리를 향하여 입을 크게 벌렸나이다
  2. 두려움과 함정과 잔해와 멸망이 우리에게 임하였도다
  3. 처녀 내 백성의 파멸을 인하여 내 눈에 눈물이 시내처럼 흐르도다
  4. 내 눈의 흐르는 눈물이 그치지 아니하고 쉬지 아니함이여
  5. 여호와께서 하늘에서 살피시고 돌아보시기를 기다리는도다
  1. All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
  2. Panic and pitfall have befallen us, Devastation and destruction;
  3. My eyes run down with streams of water Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
  4. My eyes pour down unceasingly, Without stopping,
  5. Until the LORD looks down And sees from heaven.
  1. 나의 성읍의 모든 여자를 인하여 내 눈이 내 심령을 상하게 하는도다
  2. 무고히 나의 대적이 된 자가 나를 새와 같이 심히 쫓도다
  3. 저희가 내 생명을 끊으려고 나를 구덩이에 넣고 그 위에 돌을 던짐이여
  4. 물이 내 머리에 넘치니 내가 스스로 이르기를 이제는 멸절되었다 하도다
  5. 여호와여 내가 심히 깊은 구덩이에서 주의 이름을 불렀나이다
  1. My eyes bring pain to my soul Because of all the daughters of my city.
  2. My enemies without cause Hunted me down like a bird;
  3. They have silenced me in the pit And have placed a stone on me.
  4. Waters flowed over my head; I said, "I am cut off!"
  5. I called on Your name, O LORD, Out of the lowest pit.
  1. 주께서 이미 나의 음성을 들으셨사오니 이제 나의 탄식과 부르짖음에 주의 귀를 가리우지 마옵소서
  2. 내가 주께 아뢴 날에 주께서 내게 가까이 하여 가라사대 두려워 말라 하셨나이다
  3. 주여 주께서 내 심령의 원통을 펴셨고 내 생명을 속하셨나이다
  4. 여호와여 나의 억울을 감찰하셨사오니 나를 위하여 신원하옵소서
  5. 저희가 내게 보수하며 나를 모해함을 주께서 다 감찰하셨나이다
  1. You have heard my voice, "Do not hide Your ear from my prayer for relief, From my cry for help."
  2. You drew near when I called on You; You said, "Do not fear!"
  3. O Lord, You have pleaded my soul's cause; You have redeemed my life.
  4. O LORD, You have seen my oppression; Judge my case.
  5. You have seen all their vengeance, All their schemes against me.
  1. 여호와여 저희가 나를 훼파하며 나를 모해하는 것
  2. 곧 일어나 나를 치는 자의 입술에서 나오는 것과 종일 모해하는 것을 들으셨나이다
  3. 저희가 앉든지 서든지 나를 노래하는 것을 주여 보옵소서
  4. 여호와여 주께서 저의 손으로 행한대로 보응하사
  5. 그 마음을 강퍅하게 하시고 저주를 더하시며
  1. You have heard their reproach, O LORD, All their schemes against me.
  2. The lips of my assailants and their whispering Are against me all day long.
  3. Look on their sitting and their rising; I am their mocking song.
  4. You will recompense them, O LORD, According to the work of their hands.
  5. You will give them hardness of heart, Your curse will be on them.
  1. 진노로 저희를 군축하사 여호와의 천하에서 멸하시리이다
  1. You will pursue them in anger and destroy them From under the heavens of the LORD!
 
  시온을 향한 애가(4:1-4:22)    
 
  1. 슬프다 어찌 그리 금이 빛을 잃고 정금이 변하였으며 성소의 돌이 각 거리 머리에 쏟아졌는고
  2. 시온의 아들들이 보배로와 정금에 비할러니 어찌 그리 토기장이의 만든 질항아리 같이 여김이 되었는고
  3. 들개는 오히려 젖을 내어 새끼를 먹이나 처녀 내 백성은 잔인하여 광야의 타조 같도다
  4. 젖먹이가 목말라서 혀가 입천장에 붙음이여 어린 아이가 떡을 구하나 떼어 줄 사람이 없도다
  5. 진수를 먹던 자가 거리에 외로움이여 전에는 붉은 옷을 입고 길리운 자가 이제는 거름더미를 안았도다
  1. How dark the gold has become, How the pure gold has changed! The sacred stones are poured out At the corner of every street.
  2. The precious sons of Zion, Weighed against fine gold, How they are regarded as earthen jars, The work of a potter's hands!
  3. Even jackals offer the breast, They nurse their young; But the daughter of my people has become cruel Like ostriches in the wilderness.
  4. The tongue of the infant cleaves To the roof of its mouth because of thirst; The little ones ask for bread, But no one breaks it for them.
  5. Those who ate delicacies Are desolate in the streets; Those reared in purple Embrace ash pits.
  1. 전에 소돔이 사람의 손을 대지 않고 경각간에 무너지더니 이제 처녀 내 백성의 죄가 소돔의 죄악보다 중하도다
  2. 전에는 존귀한 자의 몸이 눈보다 깨끗하고 젖보다 희며 산호보다 붉어 그 윤택함이 마광한 청옥 같더니
  3. 이제는 그 얼굴이 숯보다 검고 그 가죽이 뼈에 붙어 막대기 같이 말랐으니 거리에서 알 사람이 없도다
  4. 칼에 죽은 자가 주려 죽은 자보다 나음은 토지 소산이 끊어지므로 이들이 찔림 같이 점점 쇠약하여 감이로다
  5. 처녀 내 백성의 멸망할 때에 자비한 부녀가 손으로 자기 자녀를 삶아 식물을 삼았도다
  1. For the iniquity of the daughter of my people Is greater than the sin of Sodom, Which was overthrown as in a moment, And no hands were turned toward her.
  2. Her consecrated ones were purer than snow, They were whiter than milk; They were more ruddy in body than corals, Their polishing was like lapis lazuli.
  3. Their appearance is blacker than soot, They are not recognized in the streets; Their skin is shriveled on their bones, It is withered, it has become like wood.
  4. Better are those slain with the sword Than those slain with hunger; For they pine away, being stricken For lack of the fruits of the field.
  5. The hands of compassionate women Boiled their own children; They became food for them Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.
  1. 여호와께서 분을 발하시며 맹렬한 노를 쏟으심이여 시온에 불을 피우사 그 지대를 사르셨도다
  2. 대적과 원수가 예루살렘 성문으로 들어갈 줄은 세상 열왕과 천하 모든 백성이 믿지 못하였었도다
  3. 그 선지자들의 죄와 제사장들의 죄악을 인함이니 저희가 성읍 중에서 의인의 피를 흘렸도다
  4. 저희가 거리에서 소경 같이 방황함이여 그 옷이 피에 더러웠으므로 사람이 만질 수 없도다
  5. 사람이 저희에게 외쳐 이르기를 부정하다 가라 가라, 가라, 만지지 말라 하였음이여 저희가 도망하여 방황할 때에 이방인이 이르기를 저희가 다시는 여기 거하지 못하리라 하였도다
  1. The LORD has accomplished His wrath, He has poured out His fierce anger; And He has kindled a fire in Zion Which has consumed its foundations.
  2. The kings of the earth did not believe, Nor did any of the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary and the enemy Could enter the gates of Jerusalem.
  3. Because of the sins of her prophets And the iniquities of her priests, Who have shed in her midst The blood of the righteous;
  4. They wandered, blind, in the streets; They were defiled with blood So that no one could touch their garments.
  5. "Depart! Unclean!" they cried of themselves "Depart, depart, do not touch!" So they fled and wandered; Men among the nations said, "They shall not continue to dwell with us."
  1. 여호와께서 노하여 흩으시고 다시 권고치 아니하시리니 저희가 제사장들을 높이지 아니하였으며 장로들을 대접지 아니하였음이로다
  2. 우리가 헛되이 도움을 바라므로 우리 눈이 상함이여 우리를 구원치 못할 나라를 바라보고 바라보았도다
  3. 저희가 우리 자취를 엿보니 우리가 거리에 행할 수 없음이여 우리의 끝이 가깝고 우리의 날이 다하였고 우리의 마지막이 이르렀도다
  4. 우리를 쫓는 자가 공중의 독수리보다 빠름이여 산꼭대기에서도 쫓고 광야에도 매복하였도다
  5. 우리의 콧김 곧 여호와의 기름 부으신 자가 저희 함정에 빠졌음이여 우리가 저를 가리키며 전에 이르기를 우리가 저의 그늘 아래서 열국 중에 살겠다 하던 자로다
  1. The presence of the LORD has scattered them, He will not continue to regard them; They did not honor the priests, They did not favor the elders.
  2. Yet our eyes failed, Looking for help was useless; In our watching we have watched For a nation that could not save.
  3. They hunted our steps So that we could not walk in our streets; Our end drew near, Our days were finished For our end had come.
  4. Our pursuers were swifter Than the eagles of the sky; They chased us on the mountains, They waited in ambush for us in the wilderness.
  5. The breath of our nostrils, the LORD'S anointed, Was captured in their pits, Of whom we had said, "Under his shadow We shall live among the nations."
  1. 우스 땅에 거하는 처녀 에돔아 즐거워하며 기뻐하려무나 잔이 네게도 이를찌니 네가 취하여 벌거벗으리라
  2. 처녀 시온아 네 죄악의 형벌이 다하였으니 주께서 다시는 너로 사로잡혀 가지 않게 하시리로다 처녀 에돔아 주께서 네 죄악을 벌하시며 네 허물을 드러내시리로다
  1. Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, Who dwells in the land of Uz; But the cup will come around to you as well, You will become drunk and make yourself naked.
  2. The punishment of your iniquity has been completed, O daughter of Zion; He will exile you no longer But He will punish your iniquity, O daughter of Edom; He will expose your sins!
 
  회복을 구하는 기도(5:1-5:22)    
 
  1. 여호와여 우리의 당한 것을 기억하시고 우리의 수욕을 감찰하옵소서
  2. 우리 기업이 외인에게, 우리 집들도 외인에게 돌아갔나이다
  3. 우리는 아비 없는 외로운 자식이오며 우리 어미는 과부 같으니
  4. 우리가 은을 주고 물을 마시며 값을 주고 섶을 얻으오며
  5. 우리를 쫓는 자는 우리 목을 눌렀사오니 우리가 곤비하여 쉴수 없나이다
  1. Remember, O LORD, what has befallen us; Look, and see our reproach!
  2. Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, Our houses to aliens.
  3. We have become orphans without a father, Our mothers are like widows.
  4. We have to pay for our drinking water, Our wood comes to us at a price.
  5. Our pursuers are at our necks; We are worn out, there is no rest for us.
  1. 우리가 애굽 사람과 앗수르 사람과 악수하고 양식을 얻어 배불리고자 하였나이다
  2. 우리 열조는 범죄하고 없어졌고 우리는 그 죄악을 담당하였나이다
  3. 종들이 우리를 관할함이여 그 손에서 건져낼 자가 없나이다
  4. 광야에는 칼이 있으므로 죽기를 무릅써야 양식을 얻사오니
  5. 주림의 열기로 인하여 우리의 피부가 아궁이처럼 검으니이다
  1. We have submitted to Egypt and Assyria to get enough bread.
  2. Our fathers sinned, and are no more; It is we who have borne their iniquities.
  3. Slaves rule over us; There is no one to deliver us from their hand.
  4. We get our bread at the risk of our lives Because of the sword in the wilderness.
  5. Our skin has become as hot as an oven, Because of the burning heat of famine.
  1. 대적이 시온에서 부녀들을, 유다 각 성에서 처녀들을 욕보였나이다
  2. 방백들의 손이 매어달리며 장로들의 얼굴이 존경을 받지 못하나이다
  3. 소년들이 맷돌을 지오며 아이들이 섶을 지다가 엎드러지오며
  4. 노인은 다시 성문에 앉지 못하며 소년은 다시 노래하지 못하나이다
  5. 우리 마음에 희락이 그쳤고 우리의 무도가 변하여 애통이 되었사오며
  1. They ravished the women in Zion, The virgins in the cities of Judah.
  2. Princes were hung by their hands; Elders were not respected.
  3. Young men worked at the grinding mill, And youths stumbled under loads of wood.
  4. Elders are gone from the gate, Young men from their music.
  5. The joy of our hearts has ceased; Our dancing has been turned into mourning.
  1. 우리 머리에서 면류관이 떨어졌사오니 오호라 우리의 범죄함을 인함이니이다
  2. 이러므로 우리 마음이 피곤하고 이러므로 우리 눈이 어두우며
  3. 시온산이 황무하여 여우가 거기서 노나이다
  4. 여호와여 주는 영원히 계시오며 주의 보좌는 세세에 미치나이다
  5. 주께서 어찌하여 우리를 영원히 잊으시오며 우리를 이같이 오래 버리시나이까
  1. The crown has fallen from our head; Woe to us, for we have sinned!
  2. Because of this our heart is faint, Because of these things our eyes are dim;
  3. Because of Mount Zion which lies desolate, Foxes prowl in it.
  4. You, O LORD, rule forever; Your throne is from generation to generation.
  5. Why do You forget us forever? Why do You forsake us so long?
  1. 여호와여 우리를 주께로 돌이키소서 그리하시면 우리가 주께로 돌아 가겠사오니 우리의 날을 다시 새롭게 하사 옛적 같게 하옵소서
  2. 주께서 우리를 아주 버리셨사오며 우리에게 진노하심이 특심하시니이다
  1. Restore us to You, O LORD, that we may be restored; Renew our days as of old,
  2. Unless You have utterly rejected us And are exceedingly angry with us.
