- "주님, 주님과 같은 분이 누굽니까? 주님은 약한 사람을 강한 자에게서 건지시며, 가난한 사람과 억압을 받는 사람을 약탈하는 자들에게서 건지십니다. 이것은 나의 뼈 속에서 나오는 고백입니다."
- 거짓 증인들이 일어나서, 내가 알지도 못하는 일을 캐묻는구나.
- 그들이 나에게 선을 악으로 갚다니! 내 영혼을 이토록 외롭게 하다니!
- 그들이 병들었을 때에, 나는 굵은 베 옷을 걸치고, 나를 낮추어 금식하며 기도했건만! 오, 내 기도가 응답되지 않았더라면 더 좋았을 텐데!

- Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD and delight in his salvation.

- 친구나 친척에게 하듯이 나는 그들의 아픔을 함께 아파하고, 모친상을 당한 사람처럼 상복을 입고 몸을 굽혀서 애도하였다.
- 그러나 정작 내가 환난을 당할 때에, 오히려 그들은 모여서 기뻐 떠들고, 폭력배들이 내 주위에 모여서는 순식간에 나를 치고, 쉴새 없이 나를 찢었다.
- 장애자를 조롱하는 망령된 자와 같이 그들은 나를 조롱하고 비웃으며, 나를 보고 이를 갈았다.

- I went about mourning as though for my friend or brother. I bowed my head in grief as though weeping for my mother.
- But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee; attackers gathered against me when I was unaware. They slandered me without ceasing.
- Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked ; they gnashed their teeth at me.
