민수기 31:1-31:54

 하나님께서 미디안 정복을 명령하시자 이스라엘 자손들은 군대를 파견하여 그들을 정복하였다. 전쟁에서 돌아온 군인들은 모세를 통해 하나님께서 말씀하시는 대로 정결 예식을 거행하였고, 전쟁에서 탈취한 약탈품들을 지시에 따라 분배하였다.
  
  미디안 정복(31:1-31:54)    
 
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다.
  2. "너는 미디안 사람에게 이스라엘 자손의 원수를 갚아라. 그렇게 하고 난 다음에, 너는 조상에게로 돌아갈 것이다."
  3. 모세가 백성에게 말하였다. "당신들 가운데서 전쟁에 나갈 사람들을 무장시키시오. 미디안을 쳐서, 미디안에 대한 주님의 원수를 갚아야 하오.
  4. 이스라엘 모든 지파는 각 지파마다, 어느 지파도 예외 없이, 천 명씩을 전쟁에 내보내야 하오."
  5. 그리하여 이스라엘 모든 족속에서 각 지파마다 천 명씩이 전쟁에 나가려고 무장을 하고 나섰는데, 그 수는 만 이천 명이었다.
  1. The LORD said to Moses,
  2. "Take vengeance on the Midianites for the Israelites. After that, you will be gathered to your people."
  3. So Moses said to the people, "Arm some of your men to go to war against the Midianites and to carry out the LORD's vengeance on them.
  4. Send into battle a thousand men from each of the tribes of Israel."
  5. So twelve thousand men armed for battle, a thousand from each tribe, were supplied from the clans of Israel.
  1. 모세는, 각 지파에서 천 명씩 뽑혀온 이들을 전쟁에 내보내면서, 제사장 엘르아살의 아들 비느하스에게 성소의 기구들과 신호용 나팔을 들려, 그들과 함께 전쟁에 나가게 하였다.
  2. 그들은, 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 미디안을 쳐서, 남자는 모조리 죽여 버렸다.
  3. 그들은 군인들만 죽였을 뿐 아니라, 미디안의 왕들도 죽였다. 에위와 레겜과 수르와 후르와 레바 등 미디안의 다섯 왕을 죽였고, 브올의 아들 발람도 칼로 쳐죽였다.
  4. 이스라엘 자손은 미디안 여인들과 그 아이들을 사로잡고 짐승과 가축 떼와 재산을 모두 약탈한 다음에,
  5. 그들이 살던 성읍과 촌락들은 다 불질렀고,
  1. Moses sent them into battle, a thousand from each tribe, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar, the priest, who took with him articles from the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
  2. They fought against Midian, as the LORD commanded Moses, and killed every man.
  3. Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba--the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
  4. The Israelites captured the Midianite women and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.
  5. They burned all the towns where the Midianites had settled, as well as all their camps.
  1. 사람과 짐승은 다 노략질하여 모두 전리품으로 삼았다.
  2. 그들은 포로와 노략질한 전리품을 이끌고, 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 이스라엘 자손의 회중이 있는 여리고 근처 요단 강 가 모압 평야의 진으로 왔다.
  3. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 대표들이 모두 그들을 맞으러 진 밖으로 나갔다.
  4. 그러나 모세는 전선에서 막 돌아오는, 군지휘관인 천부장들과 백부장들을 보고 화를 내었다.
  5. 모세가 그들을 꾸짖었다. "어쩌자고 여자들을 모두 살려 두었소?
  1. They took all the plunder and spoils, including the people and animals,
  2. and brought the captives, spoils and plunder to Moses and Eleazar the priest and the Israelite assembly at their camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
  3. Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp.
  4. Moses was angry with the officers of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--who returned from the battle.
  5. "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them.
  1. 이 여자들이야말로 브올에서의 그 사건 때에, 발람의 말을 듣고 이스라엘 자손을 꾀어, 주님을 배신하게 하고, 주님의 회중에 염병이 일어나게 한, 바로 그 사람들이오.
  2. 그러니 이제 아이들 가운데서 남자는 다 죽이시오. 남자와 동침하여 사내를 안 일이 있는 여자도 다 죽이시오.
  3. 여자들 가운데서 남자와 동침하지 않아 사내를 안 일이 없는 처녀는, 당신들이 차지할 몫으로 살려 두시오.
  4. 그리고 당신들은 진 밖에서 이레 동안 머물러 있어야 하오. 사흘째 되는 날과 이레째 되는 날에는, 사람을 죽인 사람과 시체에 닿은 사람과, 당신들만이 아니라 당신들이 사로잡은 포로들도 모두, 부정탄 것을 벗는 예식을 올려야 하오.
  5. 그뿐만 아니라 모든 옷가지들, 모든 가죽제품들, 염소털로 짠 모든 것들, 나무로 만든 모든 것들도 부정탄 것을 벗겨야 하오."
  1. "They were the ones who followed Balaam's advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD's people.
  2. Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,
  3. but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.
  4. "All of you who have killed anyone or touched anyone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives.
  5. Purify every garment as well as everything made of leather, goat hair or wood."
  1. 제사장 엘르아살이 전쟁에 나갔다 돌아온 군인들에게 말하였다. "이것은 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 법의 율례이오.
  2. 오직 금, 은, 구리, 쇠, 주석, 납 등
  3. 불에 타지 않는 것들은 모두 불에 넣었다가 꺼내면 깨끗하게 되지만, 정결하게 하는 물로도 깨끗하게 해야 하오. 그러나 불에 타는 물건은, 모두 물에 담갔다가 꺼내기만 해도 되오.
  4. 당신들이 입고 있는 옷은 이레째 되는 날에 빨아서 깨끗하게 해야 하오. 그렇게 한 다음에야 당신들은 진 안으로 들어올 수 있소."
  5. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.
  1. Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, "This is the requirement of the law that the LORD gave Moses:
  2. Gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, lead
  3. and anything else that can withstand fire must be put through the fire, and then it will be clean. But it must also be purified with the water of cleansing. And whatever cannot withstand fire must be put through that water.
  4. On the seventh day wash your clothes and you will be clean. Then you may come into the camp."
  5. The LORD said to Moses,
  1. "너는 제사장 엘르아살과 회중의 집안 우두머리들과 함께 전리품의 수와 포로로 잡아온 사람과 짐승의 머리 수를 세어라.
  2. 너는 전리품으로 가져 온 것들을 반으로 나누어서, 반은 전쟁에 나갔다 온 군인들에게 주고, 반은 모든 회중에게 주어라.
  3. 전쟁에 나갔다 온 사람들에게서는 나 주에게 바칠 세금 몫을 떼어 내어라. 사람이든 소든 나귀든 양 떼든, 그 오백분의 일을,
  4. 그들에게 나누어 준 절반에서 떼어 내어, 나 주에게 바치는 제물로 제사장 엘르아살에게 주어라.
  5. 이스라엘 자손에게 나누어 준 절반에서는, 사람이든지 소든지 나귀든지 양이든지, 그 어떤 가축이든지, 오십분의 일을 떼어 내어 주의 성막을 보살피는 레위 사람에게 주어라."
  1. "You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the community are to count all the people and animals that were captured.
  2. Divide the spoils between the soldiers who took part in the battle and the rest of the community.
  3. From the soldiers who fought in the battle, set apart as tribute for the LORD one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep or goats.
  4. Take this tribute from their half share and give it to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part.
  5. From the Israelites' half, select one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, goats or other animals. Give them to the Levites, who are responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle."
  1. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 주님께서 모세에게 명하신 대로 하였다.
  2. 군인들이 제각기 약탈하여 자기 것으로 삼은 약탈물 말고도, 그들이 빼앗아 온 전리품은, 양이 육십칠만 오천 마리,
  3. 소가 칠만 이천 마리,
  4. 나귀가 육만 천 마리였으며,
  5. 처녀는 모두 삼만 이천 명이었는데, 그들은 남자와 동침하지 않아 사내를 안 일이 없는 처녀들이었다.
  1. So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The plunder remaining from the spoils that the soldiers took was 675,000 sheep,
  3. 72,000 cattle,
  4. 61,000 donkeys
  5. and 32,000 women who had never slept with a man.
  1. 이 가운데서 절반이 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들의 몫으로 돌아갔다. 양은 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리가 그들의 몫이 되었다.
  2. 그 양 가운데서 육백일흔다섯 마리는 주님께 드리는 세금으로 바쳤다.
  3. 소는 삼만 육천 마리이고, 그 가운데서 주님께 드린 세금은 일흔두 마리이다.
  4. 나귀는 삼만 오백 마리이고, 그 가운데서 주님께 드린 세금은 예순한 마리이다.
  5. 사람은 만 육천 명이고, 그 가운데서 서른두 명을 주님께 세금으로 드렸다.
  1. The half share of those who fought in the battle was: 337,500 sheep,
  2. of which the tribute for the LORD was 675;
  3. 36,000 cattle, of which the tribute for the LORD was 72;
  4. 30,500 donkeys, of which the tribute for the LORD was 61;
  5. 16,000 people, of which the tribute for the LORD was 32.
  1. 모세는 주님께 제물로 드린 세금을 제사장 엘르아살에게 주었다. 이렇게 모세는 주님께서 명하신 대로 하였다.
  2. 모세가 전쟁에 나갔던 군인들에게서 떼어 이스라엘 자손에게 나누어 준 몫,
  3. 곧 회중들이 얻은 절반은 다음과 같다. 양이 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리,
  4. 소가 삼만 육천 마리,
  5. 나귀는 삼만 오백 마리이고,
  1. Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as the LORD's part, as the LORD commanded Moses.
  2. The half belonging to the Israelites, which Moses set apart from that of the fighting men-
  3. the community's half--was 337,500 sheep,
  4. 36,000 cattle,
  5. 30,500 donkeys
  1. 사람이 만 육천 명이다.
  2. 모세는, 이스라엘 자손이 받은 절반에서 사람과 짐승을 오십분의 일씩 떼어, 주님의 성막을 보살피는 레위 사람에게 주었다. 이렇게 모세는 주님께서 명하신 대로 하였다.
  3. 군지휘관들, 곧 천부장들과 백부장들이 모세에게 와서
  4. 보고하였다. "소관들이 이끄는 부하들을 세어 보았는데, 우리 쪽에서는 한 사람도 실종되지 않았기에,
  5. 주님께 예물을 가져 왔습니다. 주님 앞에서 우리 자신이 죄를 벗고자 하여, 금으로 만든 것들, 곧 발목걸이, 팔찌, 인장, 가락지, 귀고리, 목걸이를, 우리가 저마다 얻은 대로 이렇게 가져 왔습니다."
  1. and 16,000 people.
  2. From the Israelites' half, Moses selected one out of every fifty persons and animals, as the LORD commanded him, and gave them to the Levites, who were responsible for the care of the LORD's tabernacle.
  3. Then the officers who were over the units of the army--the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds--went to Moses
  4. and said to him, "Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one is missing.
  5. So we have brought as an offering to the LORD the gold articles each of us acquired--armlets, bracelets, signet rings, earrings and necklaces--to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD."
  1. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은 그들에게서 금으로 만든 온갖 세공품을 다 받았다.
  2. 천부장들과 백부장들이 주님께 예물로 드린 금은 모두 만 육천칠백오십 세겔이나 되었다.
  3. 군인들은 저마다 사사로이 약탈한 전리품들도 가지고 있었다.
  4. 모세와 제사장 엘르아살은, 천부장들과 백부장들에게서 금을 받아서, 회막으로 가져 가서 주님 앞에 놓고, 이스라엘 자손을 위한 기념물로 삼았다.
  1. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted from them the gold--all the crafted articles.
  2. All the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds that Moses and Eleazar presented as a gift to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
  3. Each soldier had taken plunder for himself.
  4. Moses and Eleazar the priest accepted the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
