	누가복음 9:7-9:27 기적을 행하시는 예수님에 대한 소문을 들은 헤롯은 자신이 죽인 세례 요한이 살아났다고 두려워했다. 복음을 전파하고 돌아온 제자들과 함께 벳새다에 가신 예수님께서는 오병 이어의 기적을 행하셨다. 베드로는 예수님을 그리스도라고 고백했으며, 예수님께서는 수난을 예고하시고 자신을 따르는 자들이 지켜야 할 제자된 도리를 교훈하셨다.

	기적을 행하심(9:7-9:17)

분봉왕 헤롯은 이 모든 일을 듣고서 당황하였다. 왜냐하면, 어떤 사람들은 요한이 죽은 사람들 가운데서 살아났다고 하고,

또 어떤 사람들은 엘리야가 나타났다고 하고, 또 어떤 사람들은 옛 예언자 가운데 한 사람이 살아났다고 말하기 때문이었다.

그러나 헤롯은 이렇게 말하였다. "요한은 내가 목을 베어 죽였는데, 내게 이런 소문이 파다하게 들리는 사람은 누구인가?" 그는 예수를 만나고 싶어하였다.

사도들이 돌아와서, 자기들이 한 모든 일을 예수께 이야기하였다. 예수께서는 그들을 데리고, 따로 벳새다라고 하는 고을로 물러가셨다.

그러나 무리가 그것을 알고서, 그를 따라갔다. 예수께서는 그들을 맞이하셔서, 하나님 나라를 말씀해 주시고, 또 병 고침을 받아야 할 사람들을 고쳐 주셨다.

Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was going on. And he was perplexed, because some were saying that John had been raised from the dead,

others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life.

But Herod said, "I beheaded John. Who, then, is this I hear such things about?" And he tried to see him.

When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus what they had done. Then he took them with him and they withdrew by themselves to a town called Bethsaida,

but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing.

그런데 날이 저물기 시작하니, 열두 제자가 다가와서, 예수께 말씀드렸다. "무리를 헤쳐 보내어, 주위의 마을과 농가로 찾아가서 잠자리도 구하고 먹을 것도 구하게 하십시오. 우리가 있는 여기는 빈 들입니다."

그러나 예수께서는 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희가 그들에게 먹을 것을 주어라." 그들이 말하였다. "우리에게는 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리밖에 없습니다. 우리가 나가서, 이 모든 사람이 다 먹을 수 있을 만큼 먹을 것을 사지 않으면, 안 되겠습니다."

거기에는 남자만도 약 오천 명이 있었다. 예수께서 제자들에게 말씀하셨다. "사람들을 한 오십 명씩 떼를 지어서 앉게 하여라."

제자들이 그대로 하여, 모두 다 앉게 하였다.

예수께서 빵 다섯 개와 물고기 두 마리를 손에 들고, 하늘을 우러러 쳐다보시고 그것들을 축복하신 다음에, 떼어서 제자들에게 주시고, 무리 앞에 놓게 하셨다.

Late in the afternoon the Twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away so they can go to the surrounding villages and countryside and find food and lodging, because we are in a remote place here."

He replied, "You give them something to eat." They answered, "We have only five loaves of bread and two fish--unless we go and buy food for all this crowd."

(About five thousand men were there.) But he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each."

The disciples did so, and everybody sat down.

Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to set before the people.

그들은 모두 배불리 먹었다. 그리고 남은 부스러기를 주워 모으니, 열두 광주리나 되었다.

They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

	그리스도와 제자(9:18-9:27)

예수께서 혼자 기도하고 계실 때에, 제자들이 그와 함께 있었다. 예수께서 제자들에게 물으셨다. "사람들이 나를 누구라고 하느냐?"

그들이 대답하였다. "세례자 요한이라고 합니다. 그러나 엘리야라고 하는 사람들도 있고, 옛 예언자 가운데 한 사람이 살아났다고 하는 사람들도 있습니다."

예수께서 그들에게 물으셨다. "그러면 너희는 나를 누구라고 하느냐?" 베드로가 대답하였다. "하나님의 그리스도이십니다."

그런데 예수께서는 그들에게 엄중히 경고하셔서, 이것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 명하시고,

말씀하셨다. "인자가 반드시 많은 고난을 받고, 장로들과 대제사장들과 율법학자들에게 배척을 받아 죽임을 당하고서, 사흗날에 살아나야 한다."

Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say I am?"

They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life."

"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God."

Jesus strictly warned them not to tell this to anyone.

And he said, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life."

그리고 예수께서 모든 사람에게 말씀하셨다. "나를 따라오려는 사람은, 자기를 부인하고, 날마다 자기 십자가를 지고, 나를 따라오너라.

누구든지 제 목숨을 구하려고 하는 사람은 잃을 것이요, 누구든지 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃는 사람은 목숨을 구할 것이다.

사람이 온 세상을 얻고도 자기를 잃거나 빼앗기면, 무슨 이득이 있겠느냐?

누구든지 나와 내 말을 부끄럽게 여기면, 인자도 자기의 영광과 아버지와 거룩한 천사들의 영광에 싸여 올 때에, 그 사람을 부끄럽게 여길 것이다.

내가 진정으로 너희에게 말한다. 여기에 서 있는 사람 가운데는, 죽기 전에 하나님 나라를 볼 사람들이 있다."

Then he said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self?

If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.

I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."
