- 다음에 지시하려는 일에 대해서는 나는 여러분을 칭찬할 수 없습니다. 그것은 여러분이 모여서 하는 일이 유익이 되기보다는 오히려 해가 되기 때문입니다.
- 첫째로, 여러분이 교회에 모일 때에 여러분 가운데 분열이 있다는 말이 들리는데, 그것이 어느 정도는 사실이라고 믿습니다.
- 하기야 여러분 가운데서 바르게 사는 사람들이 환히 드러나려면, 여러분 가운데 파당도 있어야 할 것입니다.
- 그렇지만 여러분이 분열되어 있으니, 여러분이 한 자리에 모여서 먹어도, 그것은 주님의 만찬을 먹는 것이 아닙니다.
- 먹을 때에, 사람마다 제가끔 자기 저녁을 먼저 먹으므로, 어떤 사람은 배가 고프고, 어떤 사람은 술에 취합니다.

- In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.
- In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.
- No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God's approval.
- When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat,
- for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk.

- 여러분에게 먹고 마실 집이 없습니까? 그렇지 않으면, 여러분이 하나님의 교회를 멸시하고, 가난한 사람들을 부끄럽게 하려는 것입니까? 내가 여러분에게 무슨 말을 해야 하겠습니까? 여러분을 칭찬해야 하겠습니까? 이 점에서는 칭찬할 수 없습니다.
- 내가 여러분에게 전해 준 것은 주님으로부터 전해 받은 것입니다. 곧 주 예수께서 잡히시던 밤에, 빵을 들어서
- 감사를 드리신 다음에, 떼시고 말씀하셨습니다. "이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이다. 이것을 행하여 나를 기억하여라."

- Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not!
- For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
- and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
- In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."
- For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

- 그러므로 누구든지, 합당하지 않게 주님의 빵을 먹거나 주님의 잔을 마시는 사람은, 주님의 몸과 피를 범하는 죄를 짓는 것입니다.
- 그러니 각 사람은 자기를 살펴야 합니다. 그런 다음에 그 빵을 먹고, 그 잔을 마셔야 합니다.
- 몸을 분별함이 없이 먹고 마시는 사람은, 자기에게 내릴 심판을 먹고 마시는 것입니다.
- 이 때문에 여러분 가운데는 몸이 약한 사람과 병든 사람이 많고, 죽은 사람도 적지 않습니다.
- 우리가 스스로 살피면, 심판을 받지 않을 것입니다.

- Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.
- A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
- For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
- That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
- But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.

- 그런데 주님께서 우리를 심판하시고 징계하시는 것은, 우리가 세상과 함께 정죄를 받지 않게 하시려는 것입니다.
- 그러므로 나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러분이 먹으려고 모일 때에는 서로 기다리십시오.
- 배가 고픈 사람은 집에서 먹어야 할 것입니다. 그것은, 여러분이 모이는 일로 심판받는 일이 없도록 하려는 것입니다. 그 밖에 남은 문제들은 내가 가서 바로잡겠습니다.

- When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.
- So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.
- If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions.
