  2. "My troubled thoughts prompt me to answer because I am greatly disturbed.
  3. I hear a rebuke that dishonors me, and my understanding inspires me to reply.
  4. "Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since man was placed on the earth,
  5. that the mirth of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.

  1. Though his pride reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,
  2. he will perish forever, like his own dung; those who have seen him will say, 'Where is he?'
  3. Like a dream he flies away, no more to be found, banished like a vision of the night.
  4. The eye that saw him will not see him again; his place will look on him no more.
  5. His children must make amends to the poor; his own hands must give back his wealth.

  1. The youthful vigor that fills his bones will lie with him in the dust.
  2. "Though evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue,
  3. though he cannot bear to let it go and keeps it in his mouth,
  4. yet his food will turn sour in his stomach; it will become the venom of serpents within him.
  5. He will spit out the riches he swallowed; God will make his stomach vomit them up.

  1. He will suck the poison of serpents; the fangs of an adder will kill him.
  2. He will not enjoy the streams, the rivers flowing with honey and cream.
  3. What he toiled for he must give back uneaten; he will not enjoy the profit from his trading.
  4. For he has oppressed the poor and left them destitute; he has seized houses he did not build.
  5. "Surely he will have no respite from his craving; he cannot save himself by his treasure.

  1. Nothing is left for him to devour; his prosperity will not endure.
  2. In the midst of his plenty, distress will overtake him; the full force of misery will come upon him.
  3. When he has filled his belly, God will vent his burning anger against him and rain down his blows upon him.
  4. Though he flees from an iron weapon, a bronze-tipped arrow pierces him.
  5. He pulls it out of his back, the gleaming point out of his liver. Terrors will come over him;

  4. ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ, ¾ÇÇÑ »ç¶÷ÀÌ Çϳª´Ô²² ¹ÞÀ» ¸òÀ̸ç, Çϳª´ÔÀÌ ±×ÀÇ °ÍÀ¸·Î Á¤ÇØ ÁֽŠÀ¯»êÀÌ µÉ °ÍÀÌ´Ù.
  1. total darkness lies in wait for his treasures. A fire unfanned will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.
  2. The heavens will expose his guilt; the earth will rise up against him.
  3. A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.
  4. Such is the fate God allots the wicked, the heritage appointed for them by God."

  1. When I think about this, I am terrified; trembling seizes my body.
  2. Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?
  3. They see their children established around them, their offspring before their eyes.
  4. Their homes are safe and free from fear; the rod of God is not upon them.
  5. Their bulls never fail to breed; their cows calve and do not miscarry.

  1. They send forth their children as a flock; their little ones dance about.
  2. They sing to the music of tambourine and harp; they make merry to the sound of the flute.
  3. They spend their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.
  4. Yet they say to God, 'Leave us alone! We have no desire to know your ways.
  5. Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain by praying to him?'

  1. But their prosperity is not in their own hands, so I stand aloof from the counsel of the wicked.
  2. "Yet how often is the lamp of the wicked snuffed out? How often does calamity come upon them, the fate God allots in his anger?
  3. How often are they like straw before the wind, like chaff swept away by a gale?
  4. It is said, 'God stores up a man's punishment for his sons.' Let him repay the man himself, so that he will know it!
  5. Let his own eyes see his destruction; let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

  4. and assign your nuggets to the dust, your gold of Ophir to the rocks in the ravines,
  5. then the Almighty will be your gold, the choicest silver for you.

  1. Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God.
  2. You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows.
  3. What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways.
  4. When men are brought low and you say, 'Lift them up!' then he will save the downcast.
  5. He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands."
