- 겸손한 사람과 주님을 경외하는 사람이 받을 보상은 재산과 영예와 장수이다.
- 마음이 비뚤어진 사람의 길에는 가시와 올무가 있으나, 자기 영혼을 지키는 사람은 그런 길을 멀리한다.

- 가난하면 부자의 지배를 받고, 빚지면 빚쟁이의 종이 된다.
- 악을 뿌리는 사람은 재앙을 거두고, 분노하여 휘두르던 막대기는 기세가 꺾인다.
- 남을 잘 보살펴 주는 사람이 복을 받는 것은, 그가 자기의 먹거리를 가난한 사람에게 나누어 주기 때문이다.
- 거만한 사람을 쫓아내면 다툼이 없어지고, 싸움과 욕설이 그친다.
