- 그 무렵에 예수께서 안식일에 밀밭 사이로 지나가셨다. 그런데 제자들이 배가 고파서, 밀 이삭을 잘라서 먹기 시작하였다.
- 바리새파 사람이 이것을 보고 예수께 말하였다. "보십시오. 당신의 제자들이 안식일에 해서는 안 되는 일을 하고 있습니다."
- 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "다윗과 그 일행이 굶주렸을 때에, 다윗이 어떻게 했는지를, 너희는 읽어보지 못하였느냐?
- 다윗이 하나님의 집에 들어가서, 제단에 차려 놓은 빵을 먹지 않았느냐? 그것은 오직 제사장들 밖에는, 자기도 그 일행도 먹어서는 안 되는 것이었는데 말이다.
- 또 안식일에 성전에서 제사장들이 안식일을 범해도 그것이 죄가 되지 않는다는 것을, 율법책에서 읽어보지 못하였느냐?

- At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat.
- But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.
- But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;
- How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the shewbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?
- Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

- 내가 너희에게 말한다. 성전보다 더 큰 이가 여기에 있다.
- '나는 자비를 원하고, 제사를 원하지 않는다' 하신 말씀이 무슨 뜻인지 알았더라면, 너희가 죄 없는 사람들을 정죄하지 않았을 것이다.
- 인자는 안식일의 주인이다."
- 예수께서 그 곳을 떠나서, 그들의 회당에 들어가셨다.
- 그런데 거기에 한쪽 손이 오그라든 사람이 있었다. 사람들은 예수를 고발하려고 "안식일에 병을 고쳐도 괜찮습니까?" 하고 예수께 물었다.

- But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
- But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
- For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.
- And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:
- And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

- 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨다. "너희 가운데 어떤 사람에게 양 한 마리가 있다고 하자. 그것이 안식일에 구덩이에 빠지면, 그것을 잡아 끌어올리지 않을 사람이 어디에 있겠느냐?
- 사람이 양보다 얼마나 더 귀하냐? 그러므로 안식일에 좋은 일을 하는 것은 괜찮다."
- 그런 다음에, 손이 오그라든 사람에게 말씀하셨다. "네 손을 내밀어라." 그가 손을 내미니, 다른 손과 같이 성하게 되었다.
- 그래서 바리새파 사람들은 밖으로 나가서, 예수를 없앨 모의를 하였다.
- 그러나 예수께서 이 일을 아시고서, 거기에서 떠나셨다. 그런데 많은 무리가 예수를 따라왔다. 예수께서는 그들을 모두 고쳐 주셨다.

- And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
- How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.
- Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.
- Then the Pharisees went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
- But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

- 그리고 자기를 세상에 드러내지 말라고, 단단히 당부하셨다.
- 이것은 예언자 이사야를 시켜서 하신 말씀을 이루시려는 것이었다.
- "보아라, 내가 뽑은 나의 종, 내 마음에 드는 사랑하는 자, 내가 내 영을 그에게 줄 것이니, 그는 이방 사람들에게 공의를 선포할 것이다.
- 그는 다투지도 않고, 외치지도 않을 것이다. 거리에서 그의 소리를 들을 사람이 없을 것이다.
- 정의가 이길 때까지, 그는 상한 갈대를 꺾지 않고, 꺼져 가는 심지를 끄지 않을 것이다.

- And charged them that they should not make him known:
- That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
- Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
- He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
- A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

- 이방 사람들이 그 이름에 희망을 걸 것이다."

- And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
