출애굽기 9:1-10:29

 모세는 바로 앞에서 악질, 독종, 우박, 메뚜기, 그리고 흑암 재앙을 행하였다. 그러나 마음이 완강한 바로는 이에 굴하기는커녕 오히려 모세를 위협하였다. 바로가 완강히 고집을 굽히지 않고 모세를 대적한 것은 하나님께서 권능을 행하심으로써 자신이 야웨 되심을 나타내시기 위해 바로의 마음을 내버려 두셨기 때문이었다.
  
  가축, 독종, 우박 재앙(9:1-9:35)    
 
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 바로에게로 가서 '히브리 사람의 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다' 하고 '나의 백성을 보내어라. 그들이 나에게 예배드리게 하여라.
  2. 네가 그들을 보내기를 거절하고, 계속 그들을 붙잡아 둔다면,
  3. 주의 손이, 들에 있는 너의 집짐승들 곧 말과 나귀와 낙타와 소와 양 떼를 쳐서, 심히 무서운 병이 들게 할 것이다.
  4. 그러나 주는 이스라엘 사람의 집짐승과 이집트 사람의 집짐승을 구별할 것이니, 이스라엘 자손의 것은 하나도 죽지 않게 할 것이다' 하여라."
  5. 주님께서 때를 정하시고서 "나 주가 내일 이 땅에서 이 일을 하겠다" 하고 말씀하셨다.
  1. Then the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
  2. For if thou refuse to let them go, and wilt hold them still,
  3. Behold, the hand of the LORD is upon thy cattle which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep: there shall be a very grievous murrain.
  4. And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel.
  5. And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land.
  1. 이튿날 주님께서 이 일을 하시니, 이집트 사람의 집짐승은 모두 죽었는데, 이스라엘 자손의 집짐승은 한 마리도 죽지 않았다.
  2. 바로는 사람을 보내서, 이스라엘 사람의 집짐승이 한 마리도 죽지 않은 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 바로는 여전히 고집을 부리고, 그 백성을 보내지 않았다.
  3. 주님께서 모세와 아론에게 말씀하셨다. "너희는 화덕에 있는 그을음을 두 손에 가득히 움켜 쥐어라. 그리고 모세가 그것을 바로 앞에서 공중에 뿌려라.
  4. 그것이 이집트 온 땅 위에서 먼지가 되어, 사람과 집짐승에게 악성 종기를 일으킬 것이다."
  5. 그래서 그들은 화덕의 그을음을 모아 가지고 가서, 바로 앞에 섰다. 모세가 그것을 공중에 뿌리니, 그것이 사람과 짐승에게 붙어서, 악성 종기를 일으켰다.
  1. And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.
  2. And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there was not one of the cattle of the Israelites dead. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.
  3. And the LORD said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take to you handfuls of ashes of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward the heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.
  4. And it shall become small dust in all the land of Egypt, and shall be a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast, throughout all the land of Egypt.
  5. And they took ashes of the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh; and Moses sprinkled it up toward heaven; and it became a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast.
  1. 마술사들도 종기 때문에 모세 앞에 나서지 못하였다. 모든 이집트 사람과 마술사들에게 종기가 생긴 것이다.
  2. 그러나 주님께서 바로가 여전히 고집을 부리게 하셨으므로, 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하신 대로, 바로가 그들의 말을 듣지 않았다.
  3. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 아침에 일찍이 일어나서, 바로 앞에 나서서 이렇게 말하여라. '히브리 사람의 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다. 나의 백성을 보내어라. 그들이 나에게 예배드리게 하여라.
  4. 이번에는 내가 나의 온갖 재앙을 너와 너의 신하들과 백성에게 내려서, 온 세상에 나와 같은 신이 없다는 것을 너에게 알리겠다.
  5. 내가 팔을 뻗어서 무서운 질병으로 너와 너의 백성을 쳤다면, 너는 이미 세상에서 사라졌을 것이다.
  1. And the magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils; for the boil was upon the magicians, and upon all the Egyptians.
  2. And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had spoken unto Moses.
  3. And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
  4. For I will at this time send all my plagues upon thine heart, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people; that thou mayest know that there is none like me in all the earth.
  5. For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
  1. 너에게 나의 능력을 보여 주어, 온 세상에 나의 이름을 널리 알리려고, 내가 너를 남겨 두었다.
  2. 그런데 너는 아직도 교만한 마음을 버리지 못하고, 나의 백성을 내보내지 않는다.
  3. 그러므로 내일 이맘때에 내가 매우 큰 우박을 퍼부을 것이니, 그처럼 큰 우박은 이집트에 나라가 생긴 때로부터 이제까지 한 번도 내린 적이 없다.
  4. 그러니 이제 너는 사람을 보내어, 너의 집짐승과 들에 있는 모든 것을 안전한 곳으로 대피시켜라. 집 안으로 들어가지 않고 들에 남아 있는 사람이나 짐승은, 모두 쏟아지는 우박에 맞아 죽을 것이다.'"
  5. 바로의 신하들 가운데서 주님의 말씀을 두려워한 사람들은 자기의 종들과 집짐승들을 집 안으로 피하게 하였다.
  1. And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
  2. As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
  3. Behold, to morrow about this time I will cause it to rain a very grievous hail, such as hath not been in Egypt since the foundation thereof even until now.
  4. Send therefore now, and gather thy cattle, and all that thou hast in the field; for upon every man and beast which shall be found in the field, and shall not be brought home, the hail shall come down upon them, and they shall die.
  5. He that feared the word of the LORD among the servants of Pharaoh made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses:
  1. 그러나 주님의 말씀을 마음에 두지 않는 사람은 자기의 종과 집짐승을 들에 그대로 내버려 두었다.
  2. 그 때에 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "네가 하늘로 팔을 내밀면, 우박이 온 이집트 땅에, 그리고 이집트 땅에 있는 사람과 짐승과 들의 모든 풀 위에 쏟아질 것이다."
  3. 모세가 하늘로 그의 지팡이를 내미니, 주님께서 천둥소리를 나게 하시고 우박을 내리셨다. 벼락이 땅에 떨어졌다. 주님께서 이집트 땅 위에 우박을 퍼부으신 것이다.
  4. 우박이 쏟아져 내리면서, 번갯불도 함께 번쩍거렸다. 이와 같은 큰 우박은 이집트에 나라가 선 뒤로부터 이집트 온 땅에 한 번도 내린 적이 없다.
  5. 이집트 온 땅에서 우박이, 사람이나 짐승이나 할 것 없이, 들에 있는 모든 것을 쳤다. 우박이 들의 모든 풀을 치고, 들의 모든 나무를 부러뜨렸다.
  1. And he that regarded not the word of the LORD left his servants and his cattle in the field.
  2. And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.
  3. And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
  4. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
  5. And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.
  1. 그러나 이스라엘 자손이 사는 고센 땅에는 우박이 내리지 않았다.
  2. 바로가 사람을 보내서, 모세와 아론을 불러들였다. 그리고 그들에게 말하였다. "이번에는 내가 죄를 지었다. 주께서 옳으셨고, 나와 나의 백성이 옳지 못하였다.
  3. 너는 주께 기도하여, 하나님이 나게 하신 이 천둥소리와 하나님이 내리신 이 우박을 그치게 하여 다오. 내가 너희를 보내겠다. 너희는 더 이상 여기에 머물지 않아도 괜찮다."
  4. 모세가 그에게 말하였다. "내가 이 성을 나가는 대로, 나의 손을 들어서 주님께 빌겠습니다. 그러면 천둥소리가 그치고, 우박이 더 이상 내리지 않을 것입니다. 이것은 온 세상이 우리 주님의 것임을 임금님께 가르치려는 것입니다.
  5. 그래도 임금님과 임금님의 신하들이 주 하나님을 두려워하지 않으리라는 것을 나는 알고 있습니다."
  1. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.
  2. And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
  3. Intreat the LORD (for it is enough) that there be no more mighty thunderings and hail; and I will let you go, and ye shall stay no longer.
  4. And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto the LORD; and the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail; that thou mayest know how that the earth is the LORD's.
  5. But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the LORD God.
  1. 이 때에 이미, 보리는 이삭이 나오고, 삼은 꽃이 피어 있었으므로, 삼과 보리가 모두 피해를 입었다.
  2. 그러나 밀과 쌀보리는, 이삭이 팰 때가 아니었으므로, 피해를 입지 않았다.
  3. 모세는 바로 앞을 떠나서, 성 바깥으로 나갔다. 그가 주님께 손을 들어 기도하니, 천둥소리와 우박이 그치고, 땅에는 비가 더 내리지는 않았다.
  4. 그러나 바로는, 비와 우박과 천둥소리가 그친 것을 보고서도, 다시 죄를 지었다. 그와 그의 신하들이 또 고집을 부렸다.
  5. 주님께서 모세를 시켜 말씀하신 대로, 바로는 고집을 부리며 이스라엘 자손을 내보내지 않았다.
  1. And the flax and the barley was smitten: for the barley was in the ear, and the flax was bolled.
  2. But the wheat and the rie were not smitten: for they were not grown up.
  3. And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread abroad his hands unto the LORD: and the thunders and hail ceased, and the rain was not poured upon the earth.
  4. And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the thunders were ceased, he sinned yet more, and hardened his heart, he and his servants.
  5. And the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, neither would he let the children of Israel go; as the LORD had spoken by Moses.
 
  메뚜기, 흑암 재앙(10:1-10:29)    
 
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 바로에게 가거라. 그와 그 신하들이 고집을 부리게 한 것은 나다. 이것은 내가, 그들이 보는 앞에서 나의 온갖 이적을 보여 주려고 그렇게 한 것이다.
  2. 그뿐만 아니라, 내가 이집트 사람들을 어떻게 벌하였는지를, 그리고 내가 그들에게 어떤 이적을 보여 주었는지를, 네가 너의 자손에게도 알리게 하려고, 또 내가 주님임을 너희에게 가르치려고 그렇게 한 것이다."
  3. 모세와 아론이 바로에게 가서 말하였다. "히브리 사람의 주 하나님이 말씀하셨습니다. '네가 언제까지 내 앞에서 교만하게 굴려느냐? 나의 백성을 보내서, 나를 예배하게 하여라.
  4. 네가 나의 백성을 보내기를 거절하면, 나는 내일 너의 영토 안으로 메뚜기 떼가 들어가게 할 것이다.
  5. 그것들이 땅의 표면을 덮어서, 땅이 보이지 않게 될 것이며, 우박의 피해를 입지 않고 남아 있는 것들을 먹어 치우되, 들에서 자라는 나무들까지 모두 먹어 치울 것이다.
  1. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him:
  2. And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.
  3. And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before me? let my people go, that they may serve me.
  4. Else, if thou refuse to let my people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast:
  5. And they shall cover the face of the earth, that one cannot be able to see the earth: and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field:
  1. 너의 궁궐과 너의 모든 신하의 집과 이집트의 모든 사람의 집이 메뚜기로 가득 찰 것이다. 이것은 너의 아버지와 너의 조상이 이 땅 위에 살기 시작한 때부터 오늘까지, 너희가 전혀 못 본 일이다.'" 그리고 나서, 모세는 발길을 돌려 바로에게서 나왔다.
  2. 바로의 신하들이 바로에게 말하였다. "언제까지 이 사람이, 우리를 망하게 하는 함정이 되어야 합니까? 이 사람들을 내보내서 그들의 주 하나님을 예배하게 하심이 좋을 듯합니다. 임금님께서는 아직도 이집트가 망한 것을 모르고 계십니까?"
  3. 모세와 아론이 다시 바로에게 불려 갔다. 바로가 그들에게 말하였다. "너희는 가서 주 너희의 하나님께 예배하여라. 그런데 갈 사람은 누구 누구냐?"
  4. 모세가 대답하였다. "우리 모두가 주님의 절기를 지켜야 하므로, 어린 아이와 노인들을 비롯하여, 우리의 아들과 딸을 다 데리고 가야 하며, 우리의 양과 소도 몰고 가야 합니다."
  5. 바로가 그들에게 호통쳤다. "그래, 어디 다 데리고 가 봐라! 너희와 함께 있는 너희의 주가 나를 감동시켜서 너희와 너희 아이들을 함께 보내게 할 것 같으냐? 어림도 없다! 너희가 지금 속으로 악한 음모를 꾸미고 있음이 분명하다!
  1. And they shall fill thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; which neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned himself, and went out from Pharaoh.
  2. And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?
  3. And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: but who are they that shall go?
  4. And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto the LORD.
  5. And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look to it; for evil is before you.
  1. 그렇게는 안 된다! 가려면 너희 장정들이나 가서, 너희의 주에게 예배를 드려라. 너희가 처음부터 바란 것이 그것이 아니더냐?" 이렇게 해서, 그들은 바로 앞에서 쫓겨났다.
  2. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너의 팔을 이집트 땅 위로 내밀어라. 그러면 메뚜기 떼가 이집트 땅으로 몰려와서, 우박의 피해를 입지 않고 땅에 그대로 남아 있는 푸성귀를 모두 먹어 치울 것이다."
  3. 모세가 지팡이를 이집트 땅 위로 내미니, 주님께서 그 날 온종일, 그리고 밤이 새도록, 그 땅에 동풍이 불게 하셨다. 그 동풍은 아침녘에 메뚜기 떼를 몰고 왔다.
  4. 메뚜기 떼가 이집트 온 땅 위로 몰려와서, 곳곳마다 내려 앉았다. 그렇게 많은 메뚜기 떼는 전에도 본 적이 없고, 앞으로도 결코 볼 수 없을 만한 것이었다.
  5. 그것들이 땅의 표면을 다 덮어서, 땅이 새까맣게 되었다. 그것들이, 우박의 피해를 입지 않고 남아 있는 나무의 열매와 땅의 푸성귀를 모두 먹어 치워서, 이집트 온 땅에 있는 들의 나무와 푸른 푸성귀는 하나도 남지 않았다.
  1. Not so: go now ye that are men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
  2. And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.
  3. And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
  4. And the locust went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
  5. For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
  1. 그러므로 바로가 모세와 아론을 급히 불러들여서 말하였다. "내가 너희와 주 너희의 하나님께 죄를 지었다.
  2. 부디 이번만은 나의 죄를 용서하고, 주 너희의 하나님께 기도하여 이 엄청난 재앙이 나에게서 떠나게 하여라."
  3. 모세가 바로에게서 물러나와 주님께 기도를 드리니,
  4. 주님께서 바람을 가장 센 서풍으로 바꾸셔서, 메뚜기 떼를 홍해에 몰아 넣으시고, 이집트 온 땅에 메뚜기 한 마리도 남겨 두지 않으셨다.
  5. 그러나 주님께서는 바로가 여전히 고집을 부리게 하셨으며, 바로는 여전히 이스라엘 자손을 내보내지 않았다.
  1. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said, I have sinned against the LORD your God, and against you.
  2. Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and intreat the LORD your God, that he may take away from me this death only.
  3. And he went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD.
  4. And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red sea; there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.
  5. But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not let the children of Israel go.
  1. 주님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다. "너는 하늘로 팔을 내밀어라. 그러면 손으로 더듬어야 다닐 만큼 짙은 어둠이 이집트 땅을 덮을 것이다."
  2. 모세가 하늘에다 그의 팔을 내미니, 이집트 온 땅에 사흘 동안 짙은 어둠이 내렸다.
  3. 사흘 동안 사람들은 서로 볼 수도 없었고, 제자리를 뜰 수도 없었다. 그러나 이스라엘 자손이 사는 곳에는 어디에나 빛이 있었다.
  4. 바로가 모세를 불러들여서 말하였다. "너희는 가서 주께 예배하여라. 그러나 너희의 양과 소는 남겨 두고, 너희의 아이들만 데리고 가야 한다."
  5. 모세가 대답하였다. "임금님도 우리의 주 하나님께 바칠 희생제물과 번제물을 우리에게 더 보태 주셔야 합니다.
  1. And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.
  2. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
  3. They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
  4. And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
  5. And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.
  1. 우리는 우리의 집짐승을 한 마리도 남겨 두지 않고 다 몰고 가겠습니다. 우리는 그것들 가운데서 주 우리의 하나님께 바칠 제물을 택할 것입니다. 그러나 우리가 거기에 다다를 때까지는, 우리가 어떤 것을 바쳐야 할지를 알 수 없습니다."
  2. 주님께서 바로가 고집을 부리도록 하셨으므로, 바로는 여전히 그들을 내보내지 않았다.
  3. 바로가 모세에게 소리쳤다. "어서 내 앞에서 썩 물러가거라. 다시는 내 앞에 얼씬도 하지 말아라. 네가 내 앞에 다시 나타나는 날에는 죽을 줄 알아라."
  4. 모세가 말하였다. "말씀 잘하셨습니다. 나도 다시는 임금님 앞에 나타나지 않겠습니다."
  1. Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
  2. But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
  3. And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in that day thou seest my face thou shalt die.
  4. And Moses said, Thou hast spoken well, I will see thy face again no more.
