	사무엘하 7:1-9:13 다윗이 하나님의 전을 건축할 뜻을 밝히자 하나님께서는 선지자 나단을 통해 그의 아들이 전을 건축할 것이라고 밝히시고, 다윗의 통치가 영원할 것을 약속하셨다. 이에 다윗은 하나님께 감사의 기도를 드렸다. 다윗은 사방의 대적들을 정벌하고 통치 조직을 개편하여 왕권을 공고히 했다. 그리고 요나단과의 언약을 기억하여 그의 아들 므비보셋을 잘 보살펴 주었다.

	다윗 언약(7:1-7:29)

주님께서 사방에 있는 모든 원수에게서 다윗 왕을 안전하게 지켜 주셨으므로, 왕은 이제 자기의 왕궁에서 살게 되었다.

하루는, 왕이 예언자 나단에게 말하였다. "나는 백향목 왕궁에 사는데, 하나님의 궤는 아직도 휘장 안에 있습니다."

나단이 왕에게 말하였다. "주님께서 임금님과 함께 계시니, 가셔서, 무슨 일이든지 계획하신 대로 하십시오."

그러나 바로 그 날 밤에 주님께서 나단에게 말씀하셨다.

"너는 내 종 다윗에게 가서 전하여라. '나 주가 말한다. 내가 살 집을 네가 지으려고 하느냐?

And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

그러나 나는, 이스라엘 자손을 이집트에서 데리고 올라온 날로부터 오늘에 이르기까지, 어떤 집에서도 살지 않고, 오직 장막이나 성막에 있으면서, 옮겨 다니며 지냈다.

내가 이스라엘 온 자손과 함께 옮겨 다닌 모든 곳에서, 내가 나의 백성 이스라엘을 돌보라고 명한 이스라엘 그 어느 지파에게라도, 나에게 백향목 집을 지어 주지 않은 것을 두고 말한 적이 있느냐?'

그러므로 이제 너는 나의 종 다윗에게 전하여라. '나 만군의 주가 말한다. 양 떼를 따라다니던 너를 목장에서 데려다가, 내 백성 이스라엘의 통치자로 삼은 것은, 바로 나다.

나는, 네가 어디로 가든지, 언제나 너와 함께 있어서, 네 모든 원수를 네 앞에서 물리쳐 주었다. 나는 이제 네 이름을, 세상에서 위대한 사람들의 이름과 같이, 빛나게 해주겠다.

이제 내가 한 곳을 정하여, 거기에 내 백성 이스라엘을 심어, 그들이 자기의 땅에서 자리잡고 살면서, 다시는 옮겨 다닐 필요가 없도록 하고, 이전과 같이 악한 사람들에게 억압을 받는 일도 없도록 하겠다.

Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

이전에 내가 나의 백성 이스라엘에게 사사들을 세워 준 때와는 달리, 내가 너를 너의 모든 원수로부터 보호하여서, 평안히 살게 하겠다. 그뿐만 아니라, 나 주가 너의 집안을 한 왕조로 만들겠다는 것을 이제 나 주가 너에게 선언한다.

너의 생애가 다하여서, 네가 너의 조상들과 함께 묻히면, 내가 네 몸에서 나올 자식을 후계자로 세워서, 그의 나라를 튼튼하게 하겠다.

바로 그가 나의 이름을 드러내려고 집을 지을 것이며, 나는 그의 나라의 왕위를 영원토록 튼튼하게 하여 주겠다.

나는 그의 아버지가 되고, 그는 나의 아들이 될 것이다. 그가 죄를 지으면, 사람들이 저의 자식을 매로 때리거나 채찍으로 치듯이, 나도 그를 징계하겠다.

내가, 사울에게서 나의 총애를 거두어, 나의 앞에서 물러가게 하였지만, 너의 자손에게서는 총애를 거두지 아니하겠다.

And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

네 집과 네 나라가 내 앞에서 영원히 이어 갈 것이며, 네 왕위가 영원히 튼튼하게 서 있을 것이다.'"

나단은 이 모든 말씀과 계시를, 받은 그대로 다윗에게 말하였다.

다윗 왕이 성막으로 들어가서, 주님 앞에 꿇어앉아, 이렇게 기도하였다. "주 하나님, 내가 누구이며 또 내 집안이 무엇이기에, 주님께서 나를 이러한 자리에까지 오르게 해주셨습니까?

주 하나님, 그런데도 주님께서는 이것도 오히려 부족하게 여기시고, 주님의 종의 집안에 있을 먼 장래의 일까지 말씀해 주셨습니다. 주 나의 하나님, 이것이 어찌 주님께서 사람을 대하시는 일상적인 방법이겠습니까?

주 하나님, 주님께서 주님의 종을 잘 아시니, 이 다윗이 주님께 무슨 말씀을 더 드릴 필요가 있겠습니까?

And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.

주님께서 세우신 뜻과 목적대로 주님께서는 이렇게 크나큰 일을 하시고, 또 그것을 이 종에게까지 알려 주셨습니다.

주 하나님, 주님은 위대하십니다. 우리의 귀로 다 들어 보았습니다만, 주님과 같은 분이 또 계시다는 말은 들어 본 적이 없고, 주님 밖에 또 다른 하나님이 있다는 말도 들어 본 적이 없습니다.

이 세상에서 어떤 민족이 주님의 백성 이스라엘과 같겠습니까? 하나님이 직접 찾아가셔서, 이스라엘을 구하여 내시고, 주님의 백성으로 삼아서, 주님의 명성을 드러내셨습니다. 그들을 이집트에서 구하여 내시려고 큰 일을 하셨고, 주님의 백성이 보는 앞에서, 다른 민족들과 그 신들에게서 그들을 친히 구원하시려고 이렇게 큰 일을 하시었고, 주님의 땅에서 놀라운 일을 하셨습니다.

주님께서는 이렇게 주님의 백성 이스라엘을 튼튼히 세우셔서, 영원히 주님의 백성으로 삼으셨습니다. 또 주님께서 그들의 하나님이 되셨습니다.

주 하나님, 주님께서 주님의 종과 이 종의 집안에 약속하여 주신 말씀이 영원히 변하지 않게 하여 주십시오.

For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

그래서 사람들이 '만군의 주님께서 이스라엘의 하나님이시다!' 하고 외치며, 주님의 이름을 영원토록 높이게 하시고, 주님의 종 다윗의 집안도 주님 앞에서 튼튼히 서게 해주시기를 바랍니다.

만군의 주, 이스라엘의 하나님, 주님께서 몸소 이 계시를 이 종에게 주시고 '내가 너의 집안을 세우겠다!' 하고 말씀하여 주셨으므로, 주님의 종이 감히 주님께 이러한 간구를 드릴 용기를 얻었습니다.

그리고 이제 주 나의 하나님, 주님께서는 참으로 하나님이십니다. 주님께서는 언제나 약속을 지키십니다. 그리고 주님께서 주님의 종에게 이와 같이 놀라운 약속을 하셨습니다.

그러므로 이제 주님의 종의 집안에 기꺼이 복을 내리셔서, 나의 자손이 주님 앞에서 영원토록 대를 잇게 해주시기를 바랍니다. 주 하나님, 주님께서 직접 그렇게 약속하여 주셨으니, 주님의 종의 집안이 영원토록, 주님께서 내리시는 복을 받게 해주십시오."

And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

	다윗 왕국의 강성(8:1-8:18)

그 뒤에 다윗이 블레셋 사람을 쳐서, 그들을 굴복시키고, 블레셋 사람의 손에서 메덱암마를 빼앗았다.

다윗은 또 모압을 쳤다. 그는 모압 포로들을 줄을 지어 세운 다음에, 그들을 땅에 엎드리게 하고, 매 석 줄 중에 두 줄은 죽이고, 한 줄은 살려주었다. 모압 사람들은 다윗의 종이 되어 그에게 조공을 바쳤다.

르홉의 아들, 소바 왕 하닷에셀이 유프라테스 강 유역에서 자기 세력을 되찾으려고 출정하였을 때에, 다윗이 그를 치고,

그에게서 기마병 천칠백 명과 보병 이만 명을 포로로 사로잡았다. 다윗은 또 병거를 끄는 말 가운데서도 백 필만 남겨 놓고, 나머지는 모조리 다리의 힘줄을 끊어 버렸다.

다마스쿠스의 시리아 사람들이 소바 왕 하닷에셀을 도우려고 군대를 보내자, 다윗은 시리아 사람 이만 이천 명을 쳐죽이고,

And after this it came to pass that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines measured he to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.

David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

시리아의 다마스쿠스에 주둔군을 두니, 시리아도 다윗의 종이 되어 그에게 조공을 바쳤다. 다윗이 어느 곳으로 출전하든지, 주님께서 그에게 승리를 안겨 주셨다.

그 때에 다윗은 하닷에셀의 신하들이 가지고 있는 금방패를 다 빼앗아서, 예루살렘으로 가져 왔다.

또 다윗 왕은, 하닷에셀의 두 성읍 베다와 베로대에서는, 놋쇠를 아주 많이 빼앗아 왔다.

하맛 왕 도이는, 다윗이 하닷에셀의 온 군대를 쳐서 이겼다는 소식을 들었다.

그는 자기의 아들 요람을 다윗 왕에게로 보내서 문안하게 하고, 다윗이 하닷에셀과 싸워서 이긴 것을 축하하게 하였다. 하닷에셀은 도이와 서로 싸우는 사이였다. 요람은 은과 금과 놋으로 만든 물건을 많이 가지고 다윗에게로 왔다.

Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.

When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

다윗 왕은 이것들도 따로 구별하여서, 이미 정복한 모든 민족에게서 가져온 것에서 따로 구별하여 둔 은금과 함께 주님께 바쳤는데,

그것들은, 그가 에돔과 모압과 암몬 사람들과 블레셋 사람들과 아말렉에게서 가져온 은금과, 르홉의 아들인 소바 왕 하닷에셀에게서 빼앗아 온 물건 가운데서, 따로 떼어놓은 은과 금이었다.

다윗은 돌아오는 길에 '소금 골짜기'에서 에돔 사람 만 팔천 명을 쳐죽이고, 이름을 떨쳤다.

그 때에 다윗이 에돔에 주둔군을 두기 시작하여서, 온 에돔에 주둔군을 두니, 마침내 온 에돔 사람이 다윗의 종이 되었다. 다윗이 어느 곳으로 출전하든지, 주님께서 그에게 승리를 안겨 주셨다.

다윗이 왕이 되어서 이렇게 온 이스라엘을 다스릴 때에, 그는 언제나 자기의 백성 모두를 공평하고 의로운 법으로 다스렸다.

Which also king David did dedicate unto the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

And David gat him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all they of Edom became David's servants. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

스루야의 아들 요압은 군사령관이 되고, 아힐룻의 아들 여호사밧은 역사 기록관이 되고,

아히둡의 아들 사독과 아비아달의 아들 아히멜렉은 제사장이 되고, 스라야는 서기관이 되고,

여호야다의 아들 브나야는 그렛 사람과 블렛 사람의 지휘관이 되었다. 다윗의 아들들은 제사장 일을 보았다.

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief rulers.

	므비보셋을 돌아본 다윗(9:1-9:13)

하루는 다윗이 물었다. "사울의 집안에 살아 남은 사람이 있느냐? 요나단을 보아서라도, 남아 있는 자손이 있으면, 잘 보살펴 주고 싶구나."

마침 사울의 집안에서 종노릇 하는 시바라는 사람이 있어서, 사람들이 그를 불러 다윗에게로 데리고 왔다. 왕이 그에게 "네가 시바냐?" 하고 물으니 "그러합니다" 하고 그가 대답하였다.

왕이 물었다. "사울의 집안에 남은 사람이 없느냐? 있으면 내가 하나님의 은총을 그에게 베풀어 주고 싶다." 그러자 시바가 왕에게 대답하였다. "요나단의 아들이 하나 남아 있습니다. 두 다리를 접니다."

왕이 그에게 물었다. "그는 지금 어디에 있느냐?" 시바가 왕에게 대답하였다. "그는 지금 로드발에 있는 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 삽니다."

다윗 왕이 사람을 보내어서, 로드발에 있는 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 그를 데려왔다.

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.

And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God unto him? And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet.

And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.

Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.

사울의 손자이며 요나단의 아들인 므비보셋은 다윗에게 와서 엎드려 절하였다. 다윗이 "네가 므비보셋이냐?" 하고 물었다. 그가 대답하였다. "예, 임금님의 종, 므비보셋입니다."

다윗이 그에게 말하였다. "겁낼 것 없다. 내가 너의 아버지 요나단을 생각해서 네게 은총을 베풀어 주고 싶다. 너의 할아버지 사울 임금께서 가지고 계시던 토지를 너에게 모두 돌려주겠다. 그리고 너는 언제나 나의 식탁에서 함께 먹도록 하여라."

므비보셋이 엎드려 아뢰었다. "이 종이 무엇이기에 죽은 개나 다름없는 저를 임금님께서 이렇게까지 돌보아 주십니까?"

다윗 왕은 사울의 종 시바를 불러서 일렀다. "사울과 그의 온 집안이 가졌던 모든 것을, 내가 이제 너의 상전의 손자인 므비보셋에게 주었다.

그러니 너는 너의 아들들과 종들과 함께 모두 그 땅을 갈고 거두어서, 너의 상전의 집안이 먹을 양식을 대도록 하여라. 그러나 너의 상전의 손자인 므비보셋은 언제나 나의 식탁에서 음식을 먹을 것이다." （시바에게는 아들 열다섯과 종 스무 명이 있었다.）

Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!

And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?

Then the king called to Ziba, Saul's servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master's son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.

Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master's son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

시바가 왕에게 대답하였다. "높으신 임금님께서 이 종에게 명령하신 그대로, 이 종이 모두 하겠습니다." 그리하여 므비보셋은 왕자들과 다름없이, 언제나 다윗 왕의 식탁에서 음식을 먹었다.

므비보셋에게는 미가라는 어린 아들이 하나 있었다. 시바의 집에 사는 사람들은 모두 므비보셋의 종이 되었다.

므비보셋은 언제나 왕의 식탁에서 먹었으며, 예루살렘에서만 살았다. 그는 두 다리를 다 절었다.

Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king's table; and was lame on both his feet.
