- 주님, 내 기도를 들어 주시고, 내 부르짖음이 주님께 이르게 해주십시오.
- 내가 고난을 받을 때에, 주님의 얼굴을 숨기지 마십시오. 내게 주님의 귀를 기울여 주십시오. 내가 부르짖을 때에, 속히 응답하여 주십시오.
- 아, 내 날은 연기처럼 사라지고, 내 뼈는 화로처럼 달아올랐습니다.
- 음식을 먹는 것조차 잊을 정도로, 내 마음은 풀처럼 시들어서, 말라 버렸습니다.
- 신음하다 지쳐서, 나는 뼈와 살이 달라붙었습니다.

- Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee.
- Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
- For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
- My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
- By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.

- 나는 광야의 올빼미와도 같고, 폐허 더미에 사는 부엉이와도 같이 되었습니다.
- 내가 누워서, 잠을 이루지 못하는 것이, 마치, 지붕 위의 외로운 새 한 마리와도 같습니다.
- 원수들이 종일 나를 모욕하고, 나를 비웃는 자들이 내 이름을 불러 저주합니다.
- 나는 재를 밥처럼 먹고, 눈물 섞인 물을 마셨습니다.
- 주님께서 저주와 진노로 나를 들어서 던지시니,

- I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
- I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
- Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
- For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.
- Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down.
