욥기 34:1-36:33

 엘리후는 의롭다고 주장하는 욥을 악인에 비유하면서, 욥이 하나님을 거역하는 말을 많이 한다고 하였다. 그리고 하나님의 공의와 공평하심을 들어 욥을 비난하면서, 고난 가운데서 하나님께 불평하지 말라고 권고하였다.
  
  엘리후의 변론(34:1-36:33)    
 
  1. 엘리후가 욥의 세 친구에게 말하였다.
  2. 지혜를 자랑하시는 어른들께서는 내 말을 들으시기 바랍니다. 아는 것이 많다고 자부하시는 세 분께서 내게 귀를 기울여 주시기 바랍니다.
  3. 어른들께서는 음식을 맛만 보시고도, 그 음식이 좋은 음식인지 아닌지를 아십니다. 그러나 지혜의 말씀은 들으시고도, 잘 깨닫지 못하시는 것 같습니다.
  4. 이제는 우리 모두가 무엇이 옳은 것인지를 알아보고, 진정한 선을 함께 이룩하여 볼 수 있기를 바랍니다.
  5. 욥 어른은 이렇게 주장하십니다. "나는 옳게 살았는데도, 하나님은 나의 옳음을 옳게 여기지 않으신다."
  1. Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
  2. Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
  3. For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
  4. Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
  5. For Job hath said, I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment.
  1. 또 욥 어른은 "내가 옳으면서도, 어찌 옳지 않다고 거짓말을 할 수 있겠느냐? 나는 심하게 상처를 입었다. 그러나 나는 죄가 없다" 하고 말씀하십니다.
  2. 도대체 욥 어른과 같은 사람이 또 어디에 있겠습니까? 그는 하나님을 조롱하는 말을 물 마시듯 하고 있지 않습니까?
  3. 그리고 그는 나쁜 일을 하는 자들과 짝을 짓고 악한 자들과 함께 몰려다니면서
  4. "사람이 하나님을 기쁘게 해드린다 해도, 덕볼 것은 하나도 없다!" 하고 말합니다.
  5. 분별력이 많으신 여러분은 내가 하는 말을 들어 보시기 바랍니다. 하나님이 악한 일을 하실 수 있습니까? 전능하신 분께서 옳지 않은 일을 하실 수 있습니까?
  1. Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
  2. What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?
  3. Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
  4. For he hath said, It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
  5. Therefore hearken unto me ye men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
  1. 오히려 하나님은 사람에게, 사람이 한 일을 따라서 갚아 주시고, 사람이 걸어온 길에 따라서 거두게 하시는 분입니다.
  2. 전능하신 하나님은 악한 일이나, 정의를 그르치는 일은, 하지 않으십니다.
  3. 어느 누가 하나님께 땅을 주관하는 전권을 주기라도 하였습니까? 어느 누가 하나님께 세상의 모든 것을 맡기기라도 하였습니까?
  4. 만일 하나님이 결심하시고, 생명을 주는 영을 거두어 가시면,
  5. 육체를 가진 모든 것은 일시에 죽어, 모두 흙으로 돌아가고 맙니다.
  1. For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
  2. Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
  3. Who hath given him a charge over the earth? or who hath disposed the whole world?
  4. If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
  5. All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.
  1. 욥 어른, 어른께서 슬기로우신 분이면, 내가 하는 이 말을 깊이 생각해 보시기 바랍니다. 내가 하는 말을 귀담아 들으시기 바랍니다.
  2. 욥 어른은 아직도 의로우신 하나님을 비난하십니까? 하나님이 정의를 싫어하신다고 생각하십니까?
  3. 하나님만은 왕을 보시고서 "너는 쓸모 없는 인간이다!" 하실 수 있고, 높은 사람을 보시고서도 "너는 악하다!" 하실 수 있지 않습니까?
  4. 하나님은 통치자의 편을 들지도 않으시고, 부자라고 하여, 가난한 사람보다 더 우대해 주지도 않으십니다. 하나님이 손수 이 사람들을 지으셨기 때문입니다.
  5. 사람은 삽시간에, 아니 한밤중에라도 죽습니다. 하나님이 사람을 치시면, 사람은 죽습니다. 아무리 힘센 것이라고 하더라도, 하나님은 그것을 간단히 죽이실 수 있습니다.
  1. If now thou hast understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
  2. Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?
  3. Is it fit to say to a king, Thou art wicked? and to princes, Ye are ungodly?
  4. How much less to him that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
  5. In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
  1. 참으로 하나님의 눈은 사람의 일거수 일투족을 살피시며, 그의 발걸음을 낱낱이 지켜 보고 계십니다.
  2. 악한 일을 하는 자들이 하나님을 피하여 숨을 곳은 없습니다. 흑암 속에도 숨을 곳이 없고, 죽음의 그늘이 드리운 곳에도 숨을 곳은 없습니다.
  3. 사람이 언제 하나님 앞으로 심판을 받으러 가게 되는지, 그 시간을 하나님은 특별히 정해 주지 않으십니다.
  4. 하나님은 집권자를 바꾸실 때에도, 일을 미리 조사하지 않으십니다.
  5. 하나님은 그들이 한 일을 너무나도 잘 아시기 때문입니다. 하나님이 그들을 하룻밤에 다 뒤엎으시니, 그들이 일시에 쓰러집니다.
  1. For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
  2. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
  3. For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
  4. He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their stead.
  5. Therefore he knoweth their works, and he overturneth them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
  1. 하나님은, 사람들이 보는 곳에서 악인들을 처벌하십니다.
  2. 그들이 하나님을 따르던 길에서 벗어나고, 하나님이 지시하시는 어느 길로도 가지 않기 때문입니다.
  3. 그래서 가난한 사람들의 하소연이 하나님께 다다르고, 살기 어려운 사람들의 부르짖음이 그분께 들리는 것입니다.
  4. 그러나 하나님이 침묵하신다고 하여, 누가 감히 하나님을 비난할 수 있겠습니까? 하나님이 숨으신다고 하여, 누가 그분을 비판할 수 있겠습니까?
  5. 경건하지 못한 사람을 왕으로 삼아서 고집 센 민족과 백성을 다스리게 하신들, 누가 하나님께 항의할 수 있겠습니까?
  1. He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
  2. Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
  3. So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
  4. When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
  5. That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
  1. 욥 어른은 하나님께 죄를 고백하고서 다시는 죄를 짓지 않겠다고 약속하신 적이 있으십니까?
  2. 잘못이 무엇인지를 일러 달라고 하나님께 요구하시면서, 다시는 악한 일을 저지르지 않겠다고 약속하신 적이 있으십니까?
  3. 어른은 하나님이 하시는 것을 반대하시면서도, 어른께서 원하시는 것을 하나님이 해주실 것이라고 기대하십니까? 물론, 결정은 어른께서 하실 일이고, 내가 할 일이 아니지만, 지금 생각하고 계신 것을 말씀해 주시기 바랍니다.
  4. 분별력이 있는 사람이면, 내 말에 분명히 동의할 것입니다. 내 말을 들었으니 지혜가 있는 사람이면,
  5. 욥 어른이 알지도 못하면서 말을 하고, 기껏 한 말도 모두 뜻 없는 말뿐이었다는 것을 알 수 있을 것입니다.
  1. Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
  2. That which I see not teach thou me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
  3. Should it be according to thy mind? he will recompense it, whether thou refuse, or whether thou choose; and not I: therefore speak what thou knowest.
  4. Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
  5. Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
  1. 욥 어른이 한 말을 세 분은 곰곰이 생각해 보시기 바랍니다. 세 분께서는, 그가 말하는 것이 악한 자와 같다는 것을 아시게 될 것입니다.
  2. 욥 어른은 자신이 지은 죄에다가 반역까지 더하였으며, 우리가 보는 앞에서도 하나님을 모독하였습니다.
  1. My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
  2. For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth his hands among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
 
 
  1. 엘리후가 다시 말을 이었다.
  2. 욥 어른은 '하나님께서도 나를 옳다고 하실 것이다' 하고 말씀하셨지만,
  3. 또 하나님께 "내가 죄를 짓는다고 하여, 그것이 하나님께 무슨 영향이라도 미칩니까? 또 제가 죄를 짓지 않는다고 하여, 내가 얻는 이익이 무엇입니까?" 하고 물으시는데, 그것도 옳지 못합니다.
  4. 이제 어른과 세 친구분들께 대답해 드리겠습니다.
  5. 욥 어른은 하늘을 보시기 바랍니다. 구름이 얼마나 높이 있습니까?
  1. Elihu spake moreover, and said,
  2. Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
  3. For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
  4. I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
  5. Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
  1. 비록 욥 어른께서 죄를 지었다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 손해가 가며, 어른의 죄악이 크다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 영향이 미치겠습니까?
  2. 또 욥 어른께서 의로운 일을 하셨다고 한들 하나님께 무슨 보탬이 되며, 하나님이 어른에게서 얻을 것이 무엇이 있겠습니까?
  3. 욥 어른께서 죄를 지었다고 해도, 어른과 다름없는 사람에게나 손해를 입히며, 욥 어른께서 의로운 일을 했다고 해도, 그것은 다만, 사람에게나 영향을 미칠 뿐입니다.
  4. 사람들은 억압이 심해지면 부르짖고, 세력이 있는 자들이 억누르면 누구에게나 구원을 청하면서 울부짖지만,
  5. 그들을 창조하신 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다. 어두운 때에도 희망을 주시는 그 창조주 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다.
  1. If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
  2. If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
  3. Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
  4. By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
  5. But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
  1. 하나님이 우리에게 짐승이나 새가 가진 지혜보다 더 나은 지혜를 주시는데도 하나님께로 돌아가지 않습니다.
  2. 그들이 거만하고 악하므로, 하나님께 "도와주십시오" 하고 부르짖어도, 하나님은 들은 체도 않으십니다.
  3. 전능하신 하나님은 악한 자들을 보지도 않으시고, 그들의 호소를 들어 주지도 않으시므로, 그 악한 자들의 울부짖음에는 아무런 힘이 없습니다.
  4. 욥 어른은 하나님을 볼 수 없다고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 참고 기다리십시오. 어른께서 걸어 놓은 소송장이 하나님 앞에 놓여 있습니다.
  5. 어른은, 하나님이 벌을 내리지 않으시고, 사람의 죄에도 별로 관심이 없다고 생각하십니다.
  1. Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
  2. There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
  3. Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
  4. Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
  5. But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
  1. 그러나 명심하십시오. 어른께서 말씀을 계속하시는 것은, 쓸데없는 일입니다. 어른은 자기가 하는 말이 무엇인지도 모르시는 것이 분명합니다.
  1. Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
 
 
  1. 다시 엘리후가 말을 이었다.
  2. 조금만 더 참고 들으시기 바랍니다. 아직도 하나님을 대신하여 드릴 말씀이 있습니다.
  3. 나는 내가 가진 지혜를 모두 다 짜내서라도 나를 지으신 하나님이 의로우시다는 것을 밝히겠습니다.
  4. 내가 하는 이 말에는 거짓이 전혀 없습니다. 건전한 지식을 가진 사람이 지금 욥 어른과 더불어 말하고 있습니다.
  5. 하나님은 큰 힘을 가지고 계시지만, 흠이 없는 사람을 멸시하지 않으십니다. 또 지혜가 무궁무진 하시므로,
  1. Elihu also proceeded, and said,
  2. Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.
  3. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
  4. For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
  5. Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
  1. 악한 사람을 살려 두지 않으시고, 고난받는 사람들의 권리를 옹호하십니다.
  2. 의로운 사람들을 외면하지 않으시며, 그들을 보좌에 앉은 왕들과 함께 자리를 길이 같이하게 하시고, 그들이 존경을 받게 하십니다.
  3. 그러나 의로운 사람이라도 하나님께 복종하지 않으면, 쇠사슬에 묶이게 하시고, 고통의 줄에 얽매여서 벗어나지 못하게 하십니다. 그러는 동안에
  4. 하나님은 그들에게 그들이 한 일을 밝히시며, 그들이 교만하게 지은 죄를 알리십니다.
  5. 하나님은 또한, 그들의 귀를 열어서 경고를 듣게 하시고, 그들이 악을 버리고 돌아오도록 명하십니다.
  1. He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
  2. He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
  3. And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
  4. Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
  5. He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
  1. 만일 그들이 하나님께 순종하고, 그분을 섬기면, 그들은 나날이 행복하게 살고, 평생을 즐겁게 지낼 것입니다.
  2. 그러나 그들이 귀담아 듣지 않으면 결국 죽음의 세계로 내려갈 것이고, 아무도 그들이 왜 죽었는지를 모를 것입니다.
  3. 불경스러운 자들은 하나님께 형벌을 받을 때에, 오히려 하나님을 원망하면서 도와주시기를 간구하지 않습니다.
  4. 그들은 한창 젊은 나이에 죽고, 남창들처럼 요절하고 말 것입니다.
  5. 그러나 사람이 받는 고통은, 하나님이 사람을 가르치시는 기회이기도 합니다. 사람이 고통을 받을 때에 하나님은 그 사람의 귀를 열어서 경고를 듣게 하십니다.
  1. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
  2. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
  3. But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
  4. They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
  5. He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
  1. 하나님은 욥 어른을 보호하셔서, 고통을 받지 않게 하셨습니다. 평안을 누리면서 살게 하시고, 식탁에는 언제나 기름진 것으로 가득 차려 주셨습니다.
  2. 그러나 이제 욥 어른은 마땅히 받으셔야 할 형벌을 받고 계십니다. 심판과 벌을 면할 길이 없게 되었습니다.
  3. 욥 어른은 뇌물을 바쳐서 용서받을 생각은 아예 하지 마십시오. 속전을 많이 바친다고 하여 용서받는 것은 아닙니다.
  4. 재산이 많다고 하여 속죄받을 수 없고, 돈과 권력으로도 속죄를 받지 못합니다.
  5. 밤이 된다고 하여 이 형벌에서 벗어나는 것이 아니니, 밤을 기다리지도 마십시오.
  1. Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
  2. But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
  3. Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
  4. Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
  5. Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
  1. 악한 마음을 품지 않도록 조심하십시오. 어른께서는 지금 고통을 겪고 계십니다마는, 이 고통이 어른을 악한 길로 빠지지 않도록 지켜 줄 것입니다.
  2. 하나님의 능력이 얼마나 큰지를 기억하십시오. 하나님은 우리 모두에게 위대한 스승이십니다.
  3. 하나님께 이래라 저래라 할 사람도 없고, "주님께서 옳지 못한 일을 하셨습니다" 하고 하나님을 꾸짖을 사람도 없습니다.
  4. 하나님의 업적은 늘 찬양받아 왔습니다. 욥 어른도 하나님이 하신 일을 찬양하셔야 합니다.
  5. 온 인류가 하나님이 하신 일을 보았습니다. 사람은 멀리서 하나님이 하신 일을 봅니다.
  1. Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
  2. Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
  3. Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
  4. Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
  5. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
  1. 그렇습니다! 하나님은 위대하셔서, 우리의 지식으로는 그분을 알 수 없고, 그분의 햇수가 얼마인지도 감히 헤아려 알 길이 없습니다.
  2. 물을 증발시켜서 끌어올리시고, 그것으로 빗방울을 만드시며,
  3. 구름 속에 싸 두셨다가 뭇 사람에게 비로 내려 주십니다.
  4. 하나님이 구름을 어떻게 펴시는지는 아무도 알지 못하며, 그 계신 곳 하늘에서 나는 천둥소리가 어떻게 해서 생기는지 아무도 모릅니다.
  5. 온 하늘에 번개를 보내십니다. 그러나 바다 밑 깊은 곳은 어두운 채로 두십니다.
  1. Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
  2. For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
  3. Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
  4. Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
  5. Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
  1. 이런 방법으로 사람을 기르시고, 먹거리를 넉넉하게 주십니다.
  2. 두 손으로 번개를 쥐시고서, 목표물을 치게 하십니다.
  3. 천둥은 폭풍이 접근하여 옴을 알립니다. 동물은 폭풍이 오는 것을 미리 압니다.
  1. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
  2. With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
  3. The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
