- 여러분은 내가 좀 어리석은 말을 하더라도 용납해 주시기 바랍니다. 꼭 나를 용납해 주십시오.
- 나는 하나님께서 보여주신 열렬한 관심으로, 여러분을 두고 몹시 마음을 씁니다. 나는 여러분을 순결한 처녀로 그리스도께 드리려고 여러분을 한 분 남편 되실 그리스도와 약혼시켰습니다.
- 그러나 내가 두려워하는 것은, 뱀이 그 간사한 꾀로 하와를 속인 것과 같이, 여러분의 생각이 부패해서, 여러분이 그리스도께 대한 진실함[과 순결함]을 저버리게 되지나 않을까 하는 것입니다.
- 어떤 사람이 와서, 우리가 전하지 않은 다른 예수를 전해도, 여러분은 그러한 사람을 잘도 용납합니다. 여러분은 우리에게서 받지 아니한 다른 영을 잘도 받아들이고, 우리에게서 받지 아니한 다른 복음을 잘도 받아들입니다.
- 나는 저 거물급 사도들보다 조금도 못할 것이 없다고 생각합니다.

- Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.
- For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
- But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
- For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
- For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

- 내가 말에는 능하지 못할는지 모르지만, 지식에는 그렇지 않습니다. 우리는 이것을 모든 일에서 여러 가지로 여러분에게 나타내 보였습니다.
- 나는 여러분을 높이기 위하여 나 자신을 낮추었고, 또 하나님의 복음을 값없이 여러분에게 전하였습니다. 그렇게 한 것이 죄라도 된다는 말입니까?
- 나는 여러분을 섬기기 위하여 삯은 다른 여러 교회에서 받았습니다. 그것은 다른 교회에서 빼앗아 낸 셈입니다.
- 내가 여러분과 같이 있는 동안에는 빈곤하였지만, 여러분 가운데서 어느 누구에게도 누를 끼친 일은 없습니다. 마케도니아에서 온 교우들이 내가 필요로 하는 것을 조달해 주었습니다. 나는 모든 일에 여러분에게 짐이 되지 않으려고 애썼고, 앞으로도 그렇게 할 것입니다.
- 내 안에 있는 그리스도의 진실을 걸고 말합니다마는, 아가야 지방에서는 아무도 나의 이런 자랑을 막지 못할 것입니다.

- But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.
- Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?
- I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.
- And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.
- As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

- 내가 왜 이렇게 한다고 생각하십니까? 내가 여러분을 사랑하지 않기 때문입니까? 내가 여러분을 사랑한다는 것은, 하나님께서 알고 계십니다.
- 나는 지금 하고 있는 대로 앞으로도 하겠습니다. 그것은, 자기네가 자랑하는 일에서 우리와 똑같은 방식으로 일을 한다는 인정을 받을 기회를 찾고 있는 사람들에게서, 그러한 기회를 잘라 없애기 위함입니다.
- 이런 사람들은 거짓 사도요, 속이는 일꾼들이요, 그리스도의 사도로 가장하는 자들입니다.
- 그러나 놀랄 것은 없습니다. 사탄도 빛의 천사로 가장합니다.
- 그렇다면, 사탄의 일꾼들이 의의 일꾼으로 가장한다고 해서, 조금도 놀랄 것이 없습니다. 그들의 마지막은 그들이 행한 대로 될 것입니다.

- Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
- But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
- For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
- And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
- Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
