- 우리가 바빌론의 강변 곳곳에 앉아서, 시온을 생각하면서 울었다.
- 그 강변 버드나무 가지에 우리의 수금을 걸어 두었더니,
- 우리를 사로잡아 온 자들이 거기에서 우리에게 노래를 청하고, 우리를 짓밟아 끌고 온 자들이 저희들 흥을 돋우어 주기를 요구하며, 시온의 노래 한 가락을 저희들을 위해 불러 보라고 하는구나.
- 우리가 어찌 이방 땅에서 주님의 노래를 부를 수 있으랴.
- 예루살렘아, 내가 너를 잊는다면, 내 오른손아, 너는 말라비틀어져 버려라.

- By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
- We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.
- For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
- How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land?
- If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

- 내가 너를 기억하지 않는다면, 내가 너 예루살렘을 내가 가장 기뻐하는 것보다도 더 기뻐하지 않는다면, 내 혀야, 너는 내 입천장에 붙어 버려라.
- 주님, 예루살렘이 무너지던 그 날에, 에돔 사람이 하던 말, "헐어 버려라, 헐어 버려라. 그 기초가 드러나도록 헐어 버려라" 하던 그 말을 기억하여 주십시오.
- 멸망할 바빌론 도성아, 네가 우리에게 입힌 해를 그대로 너에게 되갚는 사람에게, 복이 있을 것이다.
- 네 어린 아이들을 바위에다가 메어치는 사람에게 복이 있을 것이다.

- If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
- Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.
- O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
- Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
