- 아이들아, 악인들이 너를 꾀더라도, 따라가지 말아라.
- 그들이 너에게 이렇게 말할 것이다. "함께 가서 숨어 기다렸다가, 이유를 묻지 말고, 죄 없는 사람을 죽이자.
- 스올처럼 그들을 산 채로 삼키고, 무덤이 사람을 통째로 삼키듯이, 그들을 통째로 삼키자.
- 우리는 온갖 값진 것을 얻게 될 것이며, 빼앗은 것으로 우리의 집을 가득 채우게 될 것이다.
- 너도 우리와 함께 제비를 뽑고, 우리 사이에 돈주머니는 하나만 두자."

- My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
- If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
- Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:
- We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:
- Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

- 아이들아, 그들이 이렇게 말하더라도, 너는 그들과 함께 다니지 말고, 네 발을 그들이 가는 길에 들여놓지 말아라.
- 그들의 발은 악으로 치달으며, 피 흘리는 일을 서두르기 때문이다.
- 무릇, 새가 보는 앞에서 그물을 치는 것은 헛수고이겠거늘,
- 그들이 가만히 엎드려서 지키고 있으니 제 피나 흘릴 뿐이요, 숨어서 기다리고 있으니 제 목숨이나 잃을 뿐이다.
- 무릇 부당한 이득을 탐하는 자의 길은 다 이러하니, 재물이 목숨을 빼앗는다.

- My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:
- For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.
- Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.
- And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.
- So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.
