이사야 56:1-58:14

구원에의 초청 대상에는 이스라엘 백성들뿐 아니라 하나님께 연합한 이방인들도 해당되었다. 이사야는 하나님을 떠나면 이스라엘의 지도자라 할지라도 심판을 받을 것임을 경고하였다. 또한 우상 숭배에 빠진 어리석은 백성들을 규탄하면서, 회개하는 자들만이 구원을 받게 된다고 선언하였다. 그리고 금식과 안식일이 형식에 치우치고 있음을 지적하며 여기에 사랑의 행위가 수반되어야 함을 강조하였다.
 
  이방인의 구원(56:1-56:12)    
 
  1. 주님께서 말씀하신다. "너희는 공평을 지키며 공의를 행하여라. 나의 구원이 가까이 왔고, 나의 의가 곧 나타날 것이다."
  2. 공평을 지키고 공의를 철저히 지키는 사람은 복이 있다. 안식일을 지켜서 더럽히지 않는 사람, 그 어떤 악행에도 손을 대지 않는 사람은 복이 있다.
  3. 이방 사람이라도 주님께로 온 사람은 '주님께서 나를 당신의 백성과는 차별하신다' 하고 말하지 못하게 하여라. 고자라도 '나는 마른 장작에 지나지 않는다' 하고 말하지 못하게 하여라.
  4. 이러한 사람들에게 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다. "비록 고자라 하더라도, 나의 안식일을 지키고, 나를 기쁘게 하는 일을 하고, 나의 언약을 철저히 지키면,
  5. 그들의 이름이 나의 성전과 나의 성벽 안에서 영원히 기억되도록 하겠다. 아들딸을 두어서 이름을 남기는 것보다 더 낫게 하여 주겠다. 그들의 이름이 잊혀지지 않도록, 영원한 명성을 그들에게 주겠다."
  1. Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
  2. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
  3. Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
  4. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
  5. Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
  1. 주님을 섬기려고 하는 이방 사람들은, 주님의 이름을 사랑하여 주님의 종이 되어라. "안식일을 지켜 더럽히지 않고, 나의 언약을 철저히 지키는 이방 사람들은,
  2. 내가 그들을 나의 거룩한 산으로 인도하여, 기도하는 내 집에서 기쁨을 누리게 하겠다. 또한 그들이 내 제단 위에 바친 번제물과 희생제물들을 내가 기꺼이 받을 것이니, 나의 집은 만민이 모여 기도하는 집이라고 불릴 것이다."
  3. 쫓겨난 이스라엘 사람을 모으시는 주 하나님께서 말씀하신다. "내가 이미 나에게로 모아 들인 사람들 외에 또 더 모아 들이겠다."
  4. 들짐승들아, 와서 나의 백성을 잡아먹어라. 숲 속의 짐승들아, 와서 나의 백성을 삼켜라.
  5. 백성을 지키는 파수꾼이라는 것들은 눈이 멀어서 살피지도 못한다. 지도자가 되어 망을 보라고 하였더니, 벙어리 개가 되어서 야수가 와도 짖지도 못한다. 기껏 한다는 것이 꿈이나 꾸고, 늘어지게 누워서 잠자기나 좋아한다.
  1. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
  2. Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
  3. The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
  4. All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
  5. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
  1. 지도자라는 것들은 굶주린 개처럼 그렇게 먹고도 만족할 줄을 모른다. 백성을 지키는 지도자가 되어서도 분별력이 없다. 모두들 저 좋을 대로만 하고 저마다 제 배만 채운다.
  2. 그 도적들이 입은 살아서 "오너라, 우리가 술을 가져 올 터이니, 독한 것으로 취하도록 마시자. 내일도 오늘처럼 마시자. 아니, 더 실컷 마시자" 하는구나.
  1. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
  2. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
 
  이스라엘의 우상 숭배와 구원(57:1-57:21)    
 
  1. 의인이 망해도 그것을 마음에 두는 자가 없고, 경건한 사람이 이 세상을 떠나도 그 뜻을 깨닫는 자가 없다. 의인이 세상을 떠나는 것은, 실상은 재앙을 피하여 가는 것이다.
  2. 그는 평화로운 곳으로 들어가는 것이다. 바른길을 걷는 사람은 자기 침상 위에 편히 누울 것이다.
  3. 너희 점쟁이의 자식들아, 간통하는 자와 창녀의 씨들아, 이리 가까이 오너라.
  4. 너희가 누구를 조롱하는 거냐? 너희가 누구에게 입을 크게 벌리고 혀를 내미느냐? 너희는 거역하는 자의 자식, 거짓말쟁이의 종자가 아니냐?
  5. 너희는 상수리나무 사이에서, 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서, 정욕에 불타 바람을 피우며, 골짜기 가운데서, 갈라진 바위 밑에서, 자식들을 죽여 제물로 바쳤다.
  1. The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.
  2. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.
  3. But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.
  4. Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood.
  5. Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?
  1. 너는 골짜기의 매끈한 돌들을 가져다가, 그것들을 신으로 떠받들었다. 네가 그것들에게 술을 부어 바치고, 또 곡식제물을 바쳤다. "내가 너희의 그런 꼴을 보았으니, 내가 어찌 기뻐하겠느냐?"
  2. 너는 또 저 우뚝 솟은 높은 산 위에 올라가서, 거기에다 자리를 깔았다. 거기에서 제사를 지냈다.
  3. "너의 집 문과 문설주 뒤에는 우상을 세워 놓았다. 너는 나를 버리고 떠나서, 옷을 다 벗고, 네가 좋아하는 자들과 함께 알몸으로 침상에 올라가 자리를 넓게 폈다. 너는 그들과 함께 자려고 화대를 지불하고, 거기에서 정욕을 불태웠다.
  4. 너는 또 몰렉에게 가려고, 몸에 기름을 바르고 향수를 듬뿍 뿌렸다. 섬길 신들을 찾느라고 먼 나라에 사신들을 보내고, 스올에까지 사절을 내려 보냈다.
  5. 신들을 찾아 나선 여행길이 고되어서 지쳤으면서도, 너는 '헛수고'라고 말하지 않는구나. 오히려 너는 우상들이 너에게 새 힘을 주어서 지치지 않았다고 생각하는구나.
  1. Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?
  2. Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.
  3. Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.
  4. And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.
  5. Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.
  1. 네가 그처럼 무서워하는 신들이 누구냐? 도대체 그 신들이 얼마나 무서우면, 나를 속이면서까지, 나를 까마득히 잊어가면서까지, 그 신들에게 매달리느냐? 내가 오랫동안 침묵하고 있었다고, 네가 나를 경외하지 않는 것이냐?
  2. 너는 네가 하는 일이 다 옳다고 생각하겠지만, 네가 한 일을 내가 다 폭로할 것이니, 너의 우상들이 너를 돕지 못할 것이다.
  3. 너의 우상들에게 살려 달라고 부르짖어 보아라. 오히려 바람이 우상들을 날려 버릴 것이며, 입김이 그것들을 쓸어 버릴 것이다. 그러나 나에게로 피하여 오는 사람은, 땅을 차지하여 거기에서 살고, 나의 거룩한 성전에서 나를 예배할 것이다."
  4. "내가 말한다. 땅을 돋우고 돋우어서 길을 내어라. 나의 백성이 걷는 길에 거치는 것이 없게 하여라."
  5. 지극히 높으신 분, 영원히 살아 계시며, 거룩한 이름을 가지신 분께서, 이렇게 말씀하신다. "내가 비록 높고 거룩한 곳에 있으나, 겸손한 사람과도 함께 있고, 잘못을 뉘우치고 회개하는 사람과도 함께 있다. 겸손한 사람과 함께 있으면서 그들에게 용기를 북돋우어 주고, 회개하는 사람과 같이 있으면서 그들의 상한 마음을 아물게 하여 준다.
  1. And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
  2. I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.
  3. When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
  4. And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.
  5. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
  1. 나는 사람들과 끝없이 다투지만은 않는다. 한없이 분을 품지도 않는다. 사람에게 생명을 준 것이 나인데, 내가 그들과 끝없이 다투고 한없이 분을 품고 있으면, 사람이 어찌 견디겠느냐?
  2. 사람의 탐욕스러운 죄 때문에 내가 노하여 그들을 쳤고, 내가 노하여 나의 얼굴을 가렸다. 그래도 그들은 끝내 나를 거역하고 제 마음에 내키는 길로 가버렸다.
  3. 사람의 소행이 어떠한지, 내가 보아서 다 알고 있다. 그러나 나는 그들을 고쳐 주겠다. 그들을 인도하여 주며, 도와주겠다. 슬퍼하는 사람들을 위로하여 주겠다.
  4. 이제 내가 말로 평화를 창조한다. 먼 곳에 있는 사람과 가까운 곳에 있는 사람에게 평화, 평화가 있어라." 주님께서 약속하신다. "내가 너를 고쳐 주마."
  5. 그러나 악인들은 요동하는 바다와 같아서 고요히 쉬지 못하니, 성난 바다는 진흙과 더러운 것을 솟아 올릴 뿐이다.
  1. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
  2. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.
  3. I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.
  4. I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.
  5. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
  1. 나의 하나님께서 말씀하신다. "악인들에게는 평화가 없다."
  1. There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
 
  참된 신앙 생활(58:1-58:14)    
 
  1. "목소리를 크게 내어 힘껏 외쳐라. 주저하지 말아라. 너의 목소리를 나팔 소리처럼 높여서 나의 백성에게 그들의 허물을 알리고, 야곱의 집에 그들의 죄를 알려라.
  2. 그들이 마치 공의를 행하고 하나님의 규례를 저버리지 않는 민족이나 되듯이, 날마다 나를 찾으며, 나의 길을 알기를 좋아한다. 그들은 무엇이 공의로운 판단인가를 나에게 묻고, 하나님께 가까이 나가기를 즐거워한다고 한다."
  3. 주님께서 보시지도 않는데, 우리가 무엇 때문에 금식을 합니까? 주님께서 알아 주시지도 않는데, 우리가 무엇 때문에 고행을 하겠습니까? 너희들이 금식하는 날, 너희 자신의 향락만을 찾고, 일꾼들에게는 무리하게 일을 시킨다.
  4. 너희가 다투고 싸우면서, 금식을 하는구나. 이렇게 못된 주먹질이나 하려고 금식을 하느냐? 너희의 목소리를 저 높은 곳에 들리게 할 생각이 있다면, 오늘과 같은 이런 금식을 해서는 안 된다.
  5. "이것이 어찌 내가 기뻐하는 금식이겠느냐? 이것이 어찌 사람이 통회하며 괴로워하는 날이 되겠느냐?" 머리를 갈대처럼 숙이고 굵은 베와 재를 깔고 앉는다고 해서 어찌 이것을 금식이라고 하겠으며, 주님께서 너희를 기쁘게 반기실 날이라고 할 수 있겠느냐?
  1. Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
  2. Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
  3. Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
  4. Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
  5. Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
  1. "내가 기뻐하는 금식은, 부당한 결박을 풀어 주는 것, 멍에의 줄을 끌러 주는 것, 압제받는 사람을 놓아 주는 것, 모든 멍에를 꺾어 버리는 것, 바로 이런 것들이 아니냐?"
  2. 또한 굶주린 사람에게 너의 먹거리를 나누어 주는 것, 떠도는 불쌍한 사람을 집에 맞아들이는 것이 아니겠느냐? 헐벗은 사람을 보았을 때에 그에게 옷을 입혀 주는 것, 너의 골육을 피하여 숨지 않는 것이 아니겠느냐?
  3. 그리하면 네 빛이 새벽 햇살처럼 비칠 것이며, 네 상처가 빨리 나을 것이다. 네 의를 드러내실 분이 네 앞에 가실 것이며, 주님의 영광이 네 뒤에서 호위할 것이다.
  4. 그 때에 네가 주님을 부르면 주님께서 응답하실 것이다. 네가 부르짖을 때에, 주님께서 '내가 여기에 있다' 하고 대답하실 것이다. 네가 너의 나라에서 무거운 멍에와 온갖 폭력과 폭언을 없애 버린다면,
  5. 네가 너의 정성을 굶주린 사람에게 쏟으며, 불쌍한 자의 소원을 충족시켜 주면, 너의 빛이 어둠 가운데서 나타나며, 캄캄한 밤이 오히려 대낮같이 될 것이다.
  1. Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
  2. Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
  3. Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
  4. Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
  5. And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
  1. 주님께서 너를 늘 인도하시고, 메마른 곳에서도 너의 영혼을 충족시켜 주시며, 너의 뼈마디에 원기를 주실 것이다. 너는 마치 물 댄 동산처럼 되고, 물이 끊어지지 않는 샘처럼 될 것이다.
  2. 너의 백성이 해묵은 폐허에서 성읍을 재건하며, 대대로 버려 두었던 기초를 다시 쌓을 것이다. 사람들은 너를 두고 "갈라진 벽을 고친 왕!" "길거리를 고쳐 사람이 살 수 있도록 한 왕!" 이라고 부를 것이다.
  3. "유다야, 네가 안식일에 발길을 삼가 여행을 하지 않으며, 나의 거룩한 날에 너의 쾌락을 일삼지 않으며, 안식일을 '즐거운 날'이라고 부르며, 주의 거룩한 날을 '존귀한 날'이라고 한다면, 그리고 이 날을 귀하게 여겨서, 네 멋대로 하지 않으며, 너 자신의 쾌락을 찾지 않으며, 함부로 말하지 않으면,
  4. 그 때에 너는 주 안에서 즐거움을 얻을 것이다. 내가 너를 땅에서 영화롭게 하고, 너의 조상 야곱의 유산을 먹고 살도록 하겠다." 이것은 주님께서 친히 하신 말씀이다.
  1. And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
  2. And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
  3. If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
  4. Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
