- 아이들아, 주님의 훈계를 거부하지 말고, 그의 책망을 싫어하지 말아라.
- 주님은, 당신이 사랑하시는 사람을 꾸짖으시니, 마치 귀여워하는 아들을 꾸짖는 아버지와 같으시다.
- 지혜를 찾는 사람은 복이 있고, 명철을 얻는 사람은 복이 있다.
- 참으로 지혜를 얻는 것이 은을 얻는 것보다 낫고, 황금을 얻는 것보다 더 유익하다.
- 지혜는 진주보다 더 값지고, 네가 갖고 싶어하는 그 어떤 것도 이것과 비교할 수 없다.

- My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
- For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
- Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
- For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
- She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

- 그 오른손에는 장수가 있고, 그 왼손에는 부귀영화가 있다.
- 지혜의 길은 즐거운 길이요, 그 모든 길에는 평안이 있다.
- 지혜는, 그것을 얻는 사람에게는 생명의 나무이니, 그것을 붙드는 사람은 복이 있다.
- 주님은 지혜로 땅의 기초를 놓으셨고, 명철로 하늘을 펼쳐 놓으셨다.
- 그분은 지식으로 깊은 물줄기를 터뜨리시고, 구름에서 이슬이 내리게 하신다.
