- 너의 손에 선을 행할 힘이 있거든, 도움을 청하는 사람에게 주저하지 말고 선을 행하여라.
- 네가 가진 것이 있으면서도, 너의 이웃에게 "갔다가 다시 오시오. 내일 주겠소" 말하지 말아라.
- 너를 의지하며 살고 있는 너의 이웃에게 해를 끼칠 계획은 꾸미지 말아라.
- 너에게 해를 끼치지 않는 사람과는, 까닭없이 다투지 말아라.
- 폭력을 휘두르는 사람을 부러워하지 말고, 그의 행위는 그 어떤 것이든 따르지 말아라.

- Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
- Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
- Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
- Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
- Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.

- 참으로 주님은 역겨운 일을 하는 사람은 미워하시고, 바른길을 걷는 사람과는 늘 사귐을 가지신다.
- 주님은 악한 사람의 집에는 저주를 내리시지만, 의로운 사람이 사는 곳에는 복을 내려 주신다.
- 진실로 주님은, 조롱하는 사람을 비웃으시고, 겸손한 사람에게는 은혜를 베푸신다.
- 지혜있는 사람은 영광을 물려받고, 미련한 사람은 수치를 당할 뿐이다.

- The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
- Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
- The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
