- 어리석은 여자는 수다스럽다. 지각이 없으니, 아는 것이 아무것도 없다.
- 그러한 여자는 자기 집 문 앞에 앉거나, 마을 높은 곳에 앉아서,
- 제 갈길만 바쁘게 가는 사람에게
- "어수룩한 사람은 누구나 이리로 발길을 돌려라" 하고 소리친다. 지각이 모자라는 사람에게도 이르기를
- "훔쳐서 마시는 물이 더 달고, 몰래 먹는 빵이 더 맛있다"하고 말한다.

- A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
- For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
- To call passengers who go right on their ways:
- Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
- Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.
